It smells of the earth and tools and everything I love about an old fashioned hardware store! Recently this store has been VERY RELIABLE with providing the best grass seed! I've been trying to grow my grass back after having a water birch tree removed from my yard which was sucking my grass dry! I haven't used the saw in a couple years. Recently I took the saw off the shelf just to see if it would start after sitting for an extended time. Unfortunately, the saw was sitting in a puddle of bar oil. I checked You Tube for the possible problem. Turns out that over time (16 years) the rubber oil line from the oil tank to the bar/chain can deteriorate and start leaking. I also watched a video on how to change the oil line. Of course the repair guy on the video made it look fairly easy. So, I decide to make the repair myself. I got the part from PC and proceeded to tear down my saw to make the repair. Well it turns out the repair wasn't quite as easy as the video made it out to be. I got to a point I realized I wasn't going to get this done. I took my saw (in pieces) to PC to have their repair man look at it and give me a price to finish the repair. Keep in mind the saw is 16 yrs old and not worth putting a lot of money into it. The repair man, Ed, got the new line on and reassembled the saw with the parts I had taken to him. Not only did Ed fix the saw, he did it for a very reasonable price. Top notch service provided by Ed and PC. I have several Stihl products and would not hesitate to take any of them to Ed/PC for service or repairs.

This morning, Drew from Honest and Fair Appliance arrived, as scheduled, and completed the repair in about 30 minutes. There was no drama or attempts to upsell for more services. Additional note for anyone who may need appliances. Bargain Supply has been our "go-to" place for appliances for many years. Since I was concerned the dryer mentioned above might not be repairable, I visited Bargain Supply on Saturday to look for a replacement. They pulled up my previous purchases and then helped me select a dryer they had in stock, should I have needed a new one immediately, knowing I was "just in case shopping". That's service!

I emailed the fine folks at Kitchen Kompact, and Brett mailed me six new brackets, enough to last me another 20 years! I had also been living with a cupboard door that had been the victim of a fist in a previous lifetime, so I was ecstatic when Brett said he would send me a new cupboard door. Now, I don't have to be reminded of that event anymore. If I ever redo my kitchen, I'll happily work with these folks to get the job done.

Over the years I glued it multiple times but that was no longer an option. I could not find a bracket to match at any of the local dealers or big box stores. I also could not find anyone eager to help me find a solution for such old cabinets. I was looking through some old files and stumbled onto an old spec sheet dated 1992 for my cabinets. I then went to the Kitchen Kompact website and found an email address. I took a chance and sent out an e-mail asking for help but was not sure what to expect. Much to my surprise, I received a reply within the hour from the VP of Sales and Marketing asking me how many L-Brackets I needed. He then shipped me what I needed to fix my problem along with some extra brackets in case I needed them in the future. I received the package in 2 business days and was able to surprise my wife by fixing the drawer. Kitchen Kompact did not charge me for the hardware or the shipping even though I offered to pay for it all. I feel like I got a glimpse into why this family owned company has been in business since 1937. This was tremendous customer service that you don't find very often in today's world. Right now they have boxes and boxes of genuine Irwin Vise Grip pliers and welding clamps for a fraction of the retail price. You can't buy junk HF tools for these prices. They buy huge lots of these and pass the savings on. Most of the power tools are retail price, but for good drill bits, hammer drill bits, etc, they often have huge bins of Irwin and DeWalt bits, taps, dies, and all sorts of things for flea market prices. Check them out, it's worth the time!
