The price was competitive and due to how detail-oriented and communicative the estimator was, we decided to proceed with Insulwise. A three person crew arrived at our house at 9:30 AM. They worked efficiently and removed our whole house fan, installed a platform for storage, thoroughly covered up open areas in our attic, before blowing in insulation throughout the space. The team leader was very communicative and helpful in explaining their process, and I barely noticed their presence as I was working on the floor below them. They ran a test on the air leakage of the home before and after the installation and I was very impressed with the results. They did a good job cleaning up after and they were done by 3:00 PM. I highly recommend Insulwise for anyone looking to lower their AC and Heating bills.

We have yet to see any energy savings, as promised on their website. Taking weather changes into account which was about 25% colder so far, we also used about 25% more gas to heat the home at the same settings. On the plus side, the room above the garage and second floor bedroom below the attic are more comfortable and less drafty, so we 'll keep tabs and hopefully we'll see better results in the summer with a/c usage.

Who do you think you are, Cheryl?? Get a new woman to speak to customers because this one is costing you customers. Like all places they were booked out for a little while but we set a date and his crew showed up exactly on time, something of a rarity these days! His crew was very professional and got straight to work, even took their shoes off in the house as to not track anything in. Overall they did a fantastic and very professional job and they honestly cleaned up better than even my own family does from staying the weekend. It was like they weren't even here! I'm sure if I'd said it was urgent they'd have tried to come sooner. They came out a week or so after I called to check things out and give me a quote. That guy, Matt, and the later handyman were friendly and efficient. Then another few weeks till they came out. I got the disposal and they installed it, plus added a plug under the sink and fixed the wall switch. Took an hour or so. This is the only handyman our dogs haven't barked at when they got here, and never did. He said he has dogs, but sometimes ours go nuts no matter what, on just hearing or smelling a stranger. The roof took maybe half an hour. Again, professional and efficient. Prices seem a little high to me, but it's been awhile since I hired anyone so this may be the new normal. And I used to be able to do some of this stuff but can't now, so, I have to pay someone sometimes. Worth it to have it taken care of.

Before he started we chatted briefly about what my goals were and why I was interested in the audit. We came up with three goals and went from there. He tested the air quality of my home and did a blower door test. We found some surprising areas that was losing heat and were inefficient. He was helpful in ideas for quick home fixes to making a list of problem areas to focus on. I was pleased with the whole experience. I wouldn't have realized energy audits were a thing until I spoke with a co-worker who recently had one conducted. I am glad I got one done on my home. The tech kept shooting down the ideas, saying nothing was feasible and it sounded like we had a skinny guy to do a job since we are working with tight spaces. The only things we weren't open to were wall paneling, but we were still interested in learning about what waterproofing and foundation repairs were available and what could best help us.
