So many things. First I am picky when it comes to my pedicures because I have feet issues lol. I started looking for a new salon and this place was recommended. It is located on a busy road but there is a parking lot next door, a lot behind the salon and there is street parking. Once you enter there is a check in desk where they will take your name, service and phone number. This salon is huge. It is two houses renovated into one large space. There are various nail and feet stations. They also offer waxing and lashes as well (cash only). There is not a ton of waiting room but also if they call your name for your service you have 5 minutes to respond (so stay close). I got a pedicure. The chair is higher up so you have to take a step up and then get into the chair. Overall a decent experience. My nail tech was attentive. The service was less than 30 minutes and I paid $37 (gel pedi). These are my two issues: 1) there is an additional $10 fee for ingrown nail removal and 2) I noticed as time went on they continuously walked around checking on the techs. My only assumption is so that the techs do not take long. I will say this. I have tried 4 salons in my pedicure journey. Each salon, prices and techs are different. This salon does not offer appointments. The issue is that they are so busy; people are lining up an hour before to get in. I felt rushed and the price is comparable to other salons where TIME was taken into the service provided. This was not the best fit for me but if you are willing to get there early, like the busy environment and the rush of service... this place is for you. read more

If I could put an NEGATIVE STAR, I would. Extremely disappointed after being a loyal customer for years. I have been coming to Hollywood for many years and, until today, I have never complained about the staff or the service. I have always been respectful, appreciative, and a generous tipper because I know how hard nail technicians work. Today I went in simply to enjoy a little pampering and received a regular manicure and pedicure. Unfortunately, the polish would not dry properly. My nails had to be redone while I was there, and after spending almost two hours at the salon--including about 40 minutes drying them--I specifically asked if they were dry before leaving. By the time I arrived at my office, the polish was coming completely off. I returned to the salon, but I had clients waiting and could not spend even more time having them repainted and dried again, so I asked them to simply remove the polish. What happened afterward is what turned a disappointing service into an unacceptable experience. I called the salon privately because I did not want to complain or create a scene in front of other customers. The gentleman on the phone initially told me he could not hear me, so I spoke louder in volume--not in an angry tone. He then accused me of screaming and "storming out" and actually said to me, "Why didn't you fucking wait?" I was shocked. I have known this young man since he was much younger, which made being spoken to this way even more disappointing. I never cursed at him or insulted him. I was calling about a legitimate problem with a service I had paid for. This review is not really about nail polish. Products fail. Mistakes happen. Businesses sometimes have bad days. It is about how a longtime customer was treated when she respectfully raised a concern. A successful, busy business should never become so comfortable with its success that it takes loyal customers for granted. Every customer matters, and every interaction matters. After years of supporting this salon without complaints, I never imagined that one phone call would leave me feeling this disrespected and disappointed. read more

I started going here in 2010. I drive 45 minutes to Hollywood Nails just for waxing. I always felt good about this place. The mother was wonderful when she was there. Both son and daughter have been kind. However, I will tell you that two of the women in the waxing section are blatantly rude. Michelle in particular. I let it go the first time. However, this is the second time she dismissed me. She said something to the other women of whom I've not ever been waxed by, and she too did not call me to be waxed. This was followed by several women arriving and being welcomed. I'm disappointed. However, I will not patronize them anymore, and I will not encourage others too. Very disappointed in their lack of professionalism. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience. Less than a week after my appointment, both of my acrylic big toenails chipped and one of my fingernails broke. I don't do anything strenuous with my hands beyond normal daily activities, so for multiple nails to break so quickly is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the quality of the products being used. What's even more frustrating is the customer service. When I returned to the salon a few days later to explain the issue, I was told that once you leave the salon, there is no guarantee. No effort was made to fix the problem or offer any accommodation. If a salon can't stand behind its work for at least a couple of weeks, why should customers continue spending their time and money there? I actually drive from Philadelphia to come here because I believed the service was worth it. Unfortunately, this experience proved otherwise. With prices continuing to increase, I expected quality and customer service to match. Instead, I was left with broken nails and an even worse response from management. I won't be returning, and I would encourage others to consider whether this is a business that truly values its customers. Press-on nails might be a better investment. read more

Super busy all the time, waited two hours for my nail guy to then tell me he's going to lunch I have to wait additional time. I'm hungry tired and impatient so when I tell them I'm going to grab food he tell me well your going to lose your spot. I had a design for my toes but they couldn't do it so I had to just do French tip because who can ruin that right. The front reception doesn't really care about the customers they care about their money. Nick is a good nail artist but not worth the mistreatment they give us. This place has really gone done over the years. The workers are fearful of management and management treats customers like cattle. They keep you waiting for hours and hours and arbitrarily move people in from of your wait. The only reason I give it one star is because I feel bad for the employees. I was so frustrated that I walked out!! They were very rude to my daughter also who had been going there since she was 16, she is now 36. Thank goodness for the W Nail and Spa Company who are professional and treat customers with respect. They also offer appointments so you are not waiting 5 hours for a nail refill. read more

My daughter & me have been going to Hollywood Nails for many years now. After the Covid; the salon remains the same but with strict sanitary conditions & when arriving you must sign a release stating you agree with their terms & conditions upon entering. The staff is always pleasant. John; the owner, his wife & sons take pride in their nail business & go the extra mile to make sure every customer is satisfied & happy. I highly recommend Hollywood Nails in Pennsauken, New Jersey. FYI, you must call for an appointment & their schedule for appointments is for 1 day in advance only. read more

This place has become the worst! Sandy's children are demolishing her stellar reputation. They use to be known for the best service and treatment of their customers something that had me loyal for two decades. Now there is no accountability when technicians do shotty work at best. Then they humiliate their clients. I had seen it happen to several women in the past and I wrongly assumed they must have done something wrong until it happened to me. I received mismatch eyelashes and was only able to detect it once I got home. Upon realizing it I called the shop and I was told I could speak to the technician Michelle. Once I explained it to her first she apologize and told me to come and she'll fix it. After that I returned and she fixed it no problem right? The next time I arrive to get my lashes done Michelle folded her arms turned her head and said no I will not do your lashes find somebody better. When I asked her what was the reason I didn't understand. She said no you made me redo your lashes so find somebody better. I said but you messed them up you put different lashes on my eyes. There was no acknowledgment that she did something wrong nor did she apologized. I proceeded to ask Amy okay will you do my lashes she looked at Michelle then looked at me and said no you find somebody better. Then the two of them with another technician began laughing. I went to the manager Sandy's son and asked him why would his staff respond in such a way especially since they performed the service incorrectly in the first place. He simply said well we don't manage them and they can refuse to do whatever they want. Apparently they're independent contractors and not employees. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away. Everything that looks good ain't good they might do a good job for a minute but eventually they will mess up your service and in the end they'll treat you just as poorly. read more

dont go to this place they are unprofessional and over charge when you don't like your nails they will not give your money back they will argue with you. Lam did my nails thick and when I asked him to fix it her refused. the manager is unprofessional she hung up the phone on me when I told her that I didn't like my nails and That I would have to pay to get them done over. Their customer service sucks!!! I was told not to come back because I complained about the color on my toes.. it isn't my fault that you buy cheap colors that don't match the boards the Manufacturer sends.. It weird the dumbass that did my toes told me they didn't have the color, but some how the guy doing my nails "found" the color.. The owner/manager was really rude and disrespectful. He is a literal piece of shit.. Long story short they are complete assholes. And what goes around comes around and karma will handle you better then I could ever.. read more

Traveled to Jersey to visit my in-laws with my husband. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law are long time patrons of Hollywood Nails and I was in desperate need of a fill. My sister-in-law recommended Tony and he was excellent. He was quick and paid attention to detail. It was my intention to get a pedicure BUT due to COVID-19 the salon is only offering gel pedicures because of not being able to allow the fans to blow, which is fine and totally understandable. Next time I visit I will plan to make another visit to Tony. read more

This is a sweat shop. More concerned with servicing as many people as possible, than customer experience & services. They DO NOT respect their clients time or money. One Saturday, my daughter and I decided to have a "spa" day. She's 5 and we do that at least once a month together. It was our third time going here and we expected nothing different from our times before... a long line, (cant make appointments -they are walk in only ). We both gave our names; I was getting a refill and she would get a manicure. I was directed to get started first . My daughter and I sat down in the two empty booths next to each other. As my services are being rendered... a lady approaches us asking if my FIVE year old daughter could be moved to a booth that was out of my sight. We both were very uncomfortable with that and asked if the tech could sit at the Booth she was already sitting in which was next to me. She said no and that someone would be coming from their lunch break break to that booth; i responded that I'd rather wait so we could stay together. I assumed this tech would be the one to do my daughters nails. When the tech returned they asked my daughter to STAND to let a grown adult go in front of her. I asked if there was a chair for her and they responded yes, ..... in their waiting area that was also out of my sight. I let them know that it was an inappropriate suggestion and we will not be split up. The place was crowded and ANYTHING could happen to my baby if I can't see her. I let them know that if they weren't going to respect her as a customer then we would leave and they told me to go which I was okay with because I will NOT spend my money at any establishment that does not care about ALL OF their customers. I left in the middle of my refill. I'm so disappointed because I enjoy the technicians here but honestly there is no space inside because they crammed as many booths as possible in order to TAKE FROM OUR COMMUNITY. I hope my daughter learned a lesson today. We will not spend out money at ANY establishment that makes me uncomfortable in the process. I should have not been expected to split from my child! read more

I feel like they sometimes make up prices as they go .. and that they charge you for absolutely everything under the sun while trying to persuade you into getting the more fancier stuff so the cost of the nails is much higher then what you first had intentions to spend .. However, maybe that's every nail salon in general ? I usually do LOVE my nails when I get them done here, so I guess that's why I always return.. read more

I wouldn't even give this place one star. I went to have my nails done last night by Lam, he did not file my nails with a drill he used a file. I told him I like my nails thinner. his response was get gel. No, that is not what I wanted. I do not want thick nails. Called this morning asked for a manager who kept repeating obviously ENGLISH is not her first language that I should have spoke up to Lam I start of calling today. I spoke up several times and Lam told me not to come back. Manager said i would have to pay for someone to fix my nails since Lam can't and wouldn't do what I asked. manager would not give name, female but stated she was running out of patience than hung up on me. this place is a shithole ran by people who should not be in management. read more

So I'm such a glut for punishment. This place is horrible. The customer service is Trash . Literally. So it's like a meat market but Sophia very nice lady did my lashes I figure let me try again. But AMY the guy at the front door are the WORST. I came in wITH A SMILE. ASKED NICEKY CAN THEY BE REMOVED. SHE SAID NO TOMORROW. WAVED HER HAND PROCEEDED TO WALK AWALK YELLIng. Really like why? Then they started me down speaking on their language. When you pay cheap you get what you pay for. Some people may not mind because it's cost effective. But it's not worth being disrespected. Especially when you pay for the service. They even got upset when a customer asked me was I ok what happened. So o sit here with the solution. She said close my eyes but it's not burning. I'll just stay in Berlin and stay out of the hood. Horrible customer service. Apparently this is what they do. He got upset because I said oh I know how it works he told me yes but I need to tell you I don't need you to speak. If so you can leave. I guess they want you to yell and be ignorant. But my fingers work well so I'll just make another review and no one can convince me to tag along to come here ever again. read more

The customer service is horrible. This was the only place I could go to get my eyebrows waxed, but not anymore. There were 3 techs for eyebrows and eyelashes. There was a line of people waiting to either get their eyebrows done or a set of lashes. I waited over 20 minutes to get my eyebrows waxed for a tech to come around the corner and say, " you want eye lashes?".. like what about someone who wants something as simple as an eyebrow wax that wouldn't take as long a a set of lashes. The wait is ridiculous and it seems as though they prefer to take people who want a set of eyelashes over someone who wants their eyebrows waxed. They got to do better, because this was a mess. I walked out and I'm unsure if I'll return. read more

I use come here all the time to get my eyebrows done but something interesting happened a few visits ago, I had a chance to get my eyebrows done by the owner Sandy. Lovely woman so nice, and she made my eyebrows look AMAZING like no I don't think you get it amazing is an understatemen, she knocked those bad boys out of the park. BUT there's one problem. It was my last time going be cause Sandy is the owner and never available and no one else there can do what she does so I stopped going but my eyebrows look like I played on X-men lol so plan on going to tomorrow and hoping for the best. I hope Sandy is doing well and comes back to the shop as much as she can her talents should be taught to others really she's great!! read more

I have been here before and never had a problem, after reading some pretty bad reviews about how someone took their child and didnt want a certain polish and then they were angry enough to put a bad review after they told her children can not sit inside if they are not getting waited on, as I walk up to the door the message is loud and clear before you even walk in. Notices are all over the outside. But I really want to praise Linda who did my pedicure, she knew where I was in pain and she didn't stop until she fixed it for me. She was great rubbing and massaging my legs & feet and the work she did in the end was beautiful. Everyone there was treated with kindness and respect and got done what they wanted. I will always go here for everything I need. Thank you linda, I will ask for you from now on read more

I want to start this review by saying I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because of how crowded this place always is!!! It doesn't matter what time of day, day of the week, anything!!! It's always crowded! I don't have enough time in my life to wait 1 1/2 hours to get my nails done, I barely have time to get them done period. I just think they could have expanded into a different, more accommodating facility by now. With that being said I have tried several other places over the years ( been a customer of Hollywood since 2007; so going on 8 years now) and non are as good as Hollywood! Every time I go here I am more than pleased with the way my nails turn out! You can show them any picture and they are pretty much able to duplicate it! Their eyebrow waxing is on point as well. They are very thorough and do a good job. Besides that, you cant beat the price here! $5 eye brow waxing, 20 full set. I try not to go anywhere else unless I have no other options. read more

I use to come here years ago when I lived in the area and am honestly disappointed at how bad it's gotten here. It's more of a sweat shop than anything else. There's always a wait so don't come here if you're in a hurry. Am in the middle of my pedicure right now actually and already so many things going wrong. For one they don't put any sort of plastic wrap around the bowls and I've yet to see anyone clean the bowl where the last pedicure next to me was done. I have gel on my toes and the girl doing my pedicure doesn't know how to properly remove the gel polish so I still have red on some of my toes. And she sprayed the toe nail clipper with alcohol, where as other nail salons I've gone to that open a brand new pack of tools right in front of you. I'm honestly just grossed out and not looking forward to my manicure at this point...oh and she cut me clipping my toe nails :') read more

Every time I went to Hollywood, I didn't have any issue until this time. First off, Amy (nail technician) did NOT take her time with my nails. I mean she moved fast when it came down to taking off the paint, laying back on the acrylic and so forth. I noticed when she applied the gel base, she did not go over it twice nor did she allow time for the UV light to hit the nails she polished. What I certainly did not appreciate was being told "I know you, my friend know you" at the end of this whole service. Just because I did acknowledge I am Asian (Vietnamese) it does not mean spill the beans. My nails did not last more than 12hours before as you can see in the pictures that the white started to split. I understand COVID is one the health factors in this era but these businesses shouldn't be rushing with their customers or clients specially if we are putting money in your pockets. A great salon for detail oriented manicures! They take their time and listen to what you want done. It's a fairly large salon with 2 floors, gel is done upstairs. That was a new experience for me.
