I'm so happy I was finally able to book a Color Analysis with Karen!! She's incredibly…read moreknowledgeable, is literally the sweetest, and her bubbly personality made me feel so welcomed!! She started by walking me through the color theories behind each of the four seasonal palettes, with fabrics grouped by tones and shades. She also presented Powerpoint slides breaking down the colors, makeup, hair, fashion, and accessories styling for each season. She even showed me collages of celebrities for each one, so that I could get a better visualization of real-life examples. I was honestly shocked because I had no idea that each palette came with its own whole styling approach. I've been mixing and matching this entire time! Then came the fabric draping, and WOWW!! She has such a good eye and really pays attention to the little details!! At first, I was only reacting to whether I liked a color, but she explained to me what she was looking for: the tones/shades that brighten my face AND create harmony with my features as a whole. She even analyzed the makeup I already use and looked through photos of my outfits to advise me what to keep, add, or replace. Everything felt so personalized. I had gotten my lip blush done a couple years back, so my lips already have a tint. My seasonal palette lipstick colors were not showing up as the true colors on them. Karen immediately pivoted and found shades within my undertone range that suited me even better. I love that she's so patient as I was learning everything: she broke things down whenever I got confused and even quizzed me so I would be able to recognize the right tones on my own when shopping. After the appointment, she sent me a full recap AND direct links to shop for the specific lipstick shades that matched my lip blush better. She really goes the extra mile for her clients!! You're not just getting a color analysis, you're also getting a personal stylist!!! The biggest thing for me was that I've always thought I was a silver girlie. It turns out silver actually makes me look tired, emphasizes my smile lines and undereyes, and washes me out!! I was a gold girlie all along!! If you want a glow up, Karen is THE person to see!! There's a reason why she gets booked up so fast!! I can't recommend her enough!!

She starts the session doing a mini presentation, which breaks down color theory, the four seasons, and styling guides for each season. There are also informational handouts provided as well, which is so helpful if this is new information for you (like me)! The next part is the color analysis and Karen provides a phone mount, so you can record yourself during the process. This is especially supportive if you want to go back to review your season's colors. Then she goes into complementary hair colors, glasses frames, and eyebrow shape! The last part of the session goes over your season and makeup products she recommends. During this process, she sends an Amazon link, which organizes makeup products by season, and additional styling guides. As someone who is wanting to be intentional about what makeup and clothes I purchase, I highly recommend Karen's services ‍

Carolyn is so kind and sweet, and she made going through my outdated closet efficient and fun. She took into consideration things I cared about, and found me looks that met my needs, but also breathed new life into my wardrobe (like color! and patterns!). The whole process was also so, so easy. Carolyn brought a whole bunch of clothes, I had fun trying things on, and then she came back one last time with different sizes and some tailored clothes. I really appreciated that she understands fit -- when it came to something fitting well, that was a non-negotiable, and I learned a lot from Carolyn. The lookbook is a great resource and I've been using it when I need ideas. But honestly a lot of the pieces go so well with each other that I haven't had any problem putting something together. The whole experience was far more fun than I expected, and it's had a bigger impact on my day to day than I ever expected. Thank you, Carolyn!

The digital wardrobe was an interesting concept, but I did not find it particularly useful in practice. Most of the items I purchased were ultimately returned or sold. There were also purchases I did not feel I had approved, and when I attempted to address these concerns, I did not receive a meaningful response. Because my concerns remained unresolved and not responded to (I had given a week), I cancelled our final meeting as it's awkward having someone ignore you then come to your home. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable continuing the working relationship. The fashion suggestions were very basic ie "where a cardigan with a dress" and not what would expect from a stylist, more like something at the mall. It's so easy to default to "jeans and a tee shirt" in LA, but I just knew I could present myself better. I finally decided it was time to work with a stylist, and I'm SO glad I found Jillian! She helped me identify the colors and silhouettes that complement my body type and coloring, and gently explained which pieces weren't doing me favors and why. We uncovered so many great items already in my closet that I didn't have the confidence to wear or didn't know how to style cohesively, and she transformed them into some truly killer outfits. We also set aside pieces that needed tailoring, and she provided a thoughtful list of items to purchase to round out my wardrobe (I was definitely due for a refresh). I was able to painlessly let go of a ton of outdated pieces, and I honestly can't believe everything fits in my closet now! Within a week, I was already getting compliments from my fashion coworkers, which feels like the highest praise. I feel like a more professional, confident, elevated yet authentic version of myself. I didn't feel fancy enough, or like I had the kind of life that justified it. But I had hit a point where I knew my style didn't reflect the confident person I was becoming, and I wasn't dressing in a way that felt like me anymore. From the very first phone call with Jillian, I felt completely at ease. She just got it. She met me where I was, reassured me that feeling unsure was totally normal, and made it clear this was something she genuinely enjoys and is amazing at. I went into the closet edit expecting a total overhaul, maybe even having to get rid of half my clothes. But instead, Jillian helped me see new possibilities in what I already had. She showed me how to put things together in a way that actually felt like me and made sense for my everyday life. It wasn't about trends or starting from scratch. It was about helping me feel more like myself when I get dressed. Because that experience was so positive, I decided to work with her again for two really special events: my engagement party and courthouse wedding. Once again, she completely blew me away. She brought a thoughtful and beautiful selection of pieces in a range of sizes, and laid everything out in a way that made trying things on actually fun. I felt like royalty. I kept looking at myself in the mirror saying, "Who is she?" and "I don't know her, but I like her!" Jillian helped me feel more confident and connected to how I want to show up in the world. I hired Mary because I knew I was in a rut, stuck in my comfort zone with my style which was neither impressive nor flattering. The entire experience was AGAIN delightful, from the welcome, to the try on's, and even feedback after the fact. Because I was in the midst of relocating, REMI didn't have the ability to personally judge some of my outfits. Instead, I took a few pictures and he provided feedback. I've provided screenshots below. They were extremely helpful and some items that I thought I'd have to give up, wound up only needing to be shrunk or were better suited for another season. Thea is AMAZING!…read more I've worked with Thea for the past year and a half or so, on multiple occasions. I was changing jobs/climates and didn't have an appropriate wardrobe. I also wanted to "up my style game" and expand my wardrobe. I hired Thea to help. She evaluated what pieces I had, what looked good on me, what I liked, what didn't work or fit well anymore, and then found pieces that were my style to complete my wardrobe. Since then, we've worked together extensively, e.g., her advising me on what to wear for certain events, updating my wardrobe with the seasons and to reflect some fat loss/muscle gain, etc. I often get unsolicited compliments on the outfits she put together, when I'm out and about with friends or in town. Thea is a visionary who can do new and creative things with the pieces that you already have, or help you find great new pieces at whatever price point. She listens to your preferences, tastes, likes and dislikes, and goals, and helps craft a wardrobe or the perfect outfit. She also teaches you about style points along the way, and explains why she recommends what she does. She knows great places to find affordable but high quality pieces. She is responsive, organized, cool, friendly, and a joy to work with. My most casual laid back outfit today is better than my best outfit was before I met Melynda. I really didn't know what to expect. I just knew that I never really had a sense of style and I had one too many days or moments of poor wardrobe choices/outfits. Melynda has a great eye for design/style in all facets of it. She knows when something is made the right way with quality fabric, stitching, etc. She walks into a store and finds the most unique items. She will teach you along the way what works, what doesn't work, why, and how things are supposed to fit. I had the fit all wrong before Melynda. It was pure chance/luck that I purchased and wore an item that fit properly or landed an outfit that actually looked good/cool. It happened, but not often. We completely transformed my wardrobe, me, and my confidence. She starts with going through your closet. We got rid of so much stuff. There's lots of shopping sessions. Then you hit the tailor. Lots of tailoring. My new view on fashion is, you find the right item(s) and most of the time you go to the tailor. Why would we not...it's not like designers are making clothes for my exact body... After that she comes by and makes a style guide. She lays everything out and shows you what a capsule wardrobe looks like. With everything we bought I have nearly as many outfit options as you have chess moves in a game. Melynda is the real deal all around. She is an experience stylist. She owns a vintage & modern clothing shop in DTLA. She has styled for stars in music videos and movies as well as non-celebrity folks like myself. She designs her own items. She makes bespoke suits. She has relationships with stores. She knows quality. To boot, she has a great personality and vibe which enriches the whole experience. I recommend Melynda to all humans. If you've never had a stylist, get one. You can't go wrong. If you're looking for a stylist, look no further. Melynda/Couture Zen are where it's at!
