This Valentine's Day, I decided to shop local and get my wife flowers from Hollywood Flowers after numerous recommendations from local residents. Wow, I love it and my wife loved it too. When I decided to order, I wanted to make it out to their store and see what they had to offer, but unfortunately, my disability was affecting me. I don't send many reviews unless I feel strongly about my experience. As a matter of fact, my reviews are usually positive. I can understand that the same exact flowers may not be available (which they were) but I chose this florist based on the container of the traditional happy face container. The container they used was not the same as advertised, rather a cheap mock off. I feel ripped off and will not use this florist again because I feel as a consumer I was mislead. I paid a total of $80. with all the extra charges added (delivery). Check their website for the sample for comparison if you care. They could have at least arranged the flowers the same way. Not the same at style at all, just shoved in the container. They didn't even try! They have their disclaimers but I feel misled with a "bait and switch". I called at 10:30 today on (Sunday morning)hoping to have a special bouquet arrangement made and delivered to my daughter who is getting her Masters. The phone was professionally answered by a woman (I think her name was Eve) who although busy, patiently listened and provided options. She told me she could have the arrangement delivered after 1 today which was fine. My doorbell rang shortly after 12. My first time at Hollywood florist... after an exhausting day of looking for a nice affordable tree, I hit the jackpot. The staff was automatically inviting and greeted me. They were helpful and polite. The young man helped me pick my tree, wrapped it, cut the stump, assisted me to the cashier and loaded tree in my trunk. My boyfriend has been buying flowers here for a few years now. They are always beautiful for a couple of hours. He once bought me roses that completely wilted the following day and had to go get them replaced. He now bought me an orchid stalk that was very top heavy and broke. When I went to get a replacement flower, I spoke with two of the florists. One was very nice and was eager to fix the problem. The other was rude and nasty. She went on to blame me for the break. She said "someone definitely broke it" when I already explained to her that I left my house and came home to the broken plant - I had pictures to prove it which she conveniently did not care to see. When I proved her wrong, she went on to blame my boyfriend who bought the orchid, "it must have broke while he was driving." Mind you, the orchid was not broken when I received it. The top flower on the stalk was already wilting from the beginning of purchase. The petals were already significantly browning and deteriorating. When I pointed this out, they both told me that it happened due to the break in the stalk and the flower wasn't getting enough water (yet the browning was there from the beginning of purchase). They then gave me a replacement which also had browning and deterioration. When I pointed that out I was told, "it's impossible to find a perfect orchid." Understandable, but then don't give me a hard time and charge $70 for a dying flower with some sticks and glitter in a case. Also, as I was waiting for my replacement, I noticed many of their arrangements were dying and wilting. There was an arrangement near the cashier with roses and birds of paradise. This arrangement was small and nothing to write home about. It was $125 and the roses were DEAD. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Horrible flowers and rude customer service. Do not blame the customer and then expect to have future business. Needless to say, my boyfriend will no longer be buying flowers here. I would rather have no flowers than $70 garbage one. read more

Had a great experience buying a Christmas tree here this past weekend. Got helpful advice regarding different types of trees and maintenance. We ended up with a beautiful 8 footer for $80. After decorating our tree we realized our stand was not big enough to fully stabilize the tree (in light of our playful toddler, dog and cat) so the company's delivery person came to our home in Maplewood to switch out the stand for a larger one. Service was extremely helpful: we didn't even have to remove the lights and ornaments. read more

I walked in the establishment to purchase some flowers when i hear the owners screaming at each other with all types of curses. Not professional at all..smh i was in shock as He went on to scream at his workers and degrade them. This poor guy must have been 15 yrs old. I was so ashamed to shop there i walked out. I recently ordered Funeral flowers from Hollywood for my aunts funeral. This was my first time using them, but it will not be my last. I knew of Hollywood because I am from the area, but for whatever reason never patronized them. Over the years, I have planned funerals for other relatives but I worked with a different florist. The arrangements at the other florist were pricey, and while the arrangements didn't look bad, I didn't feel like they looked as good as the samples I selected from and overall just were kind of basic. When my cousin asked me to be in charge of flowers for this funeral, I know I didn't want to go to the same florist. So I just randomly thought I would give Hollywood a try--halfway expecting that the finished product would not look as good as the samples. Boy oh boy was I wrong! The arrangements were hands down the BEST funeral arrangements I have ever seen! Price wise, they were comparable with other local florists, but I have yet to see a sympathy arrangement done so well elsewhere. There were a few other arrangements at this service and they did not begin to compare to Hollywoods work. I am so happy and satisfied with the work they did, I will be making them my go to florist for all occasions. read more

They give good advice on the plants you select and it's usually dead on! Their plants are heartier than the Home Depots since they buy their plants locally! That makes a big difference! We chose Hollywood Florist to do all the floral arrangements for our daughter's 7/15/17 wedding and all of us could not have been more pleased! Eve Glaser is such a nice person. of course we came with a swatch of material and some ideas but Eve really listened to our daughter , her desires as far as colors and her concern about allergies etc. Eve put together such an elegant arrangement that by the end of the wedding celebration our guests(thankfully) took home over 50% of the table arrangements! Eve also kept costs down by using the church arrangements for the party venue,too. She has great ideas and by our last meeting we saw a sample arrangement at the venue .Flowers for weddings and church ceremonies are not inexpensive, but Eve is a person who is not looking to take advantage of anyone. In addition, she is hands on and worked with my daughter regarding the wedding day photography schedule so that flowers would be in perfect shape from initial picture-taking , to church ceremony and finally to party venue.
