I was very disappointed to see that the only visible review is negative, and am writing to provide a contrasting perspective. The store is well-stocked and prices are reasonable. Sale items are abundant. More importantly, the lady who is there most often is very knowledgeable and cares about the fish and other animals. She isn't after a making quick buck at the expense of living creatures. If a purchase is imprudent, she will let you know. If you ask a question, you will get a detailed and correct answer. She has often directed me to a less expensive product after I had selected something that was overkill for my aquarium. I purchased a few fish there once, and noticed problems with the eyes of one of them after a few days. I went to the store to purchase medication, but the lady asked me to bring the fish in for an exchange instead. She said it must have been problematic to begin with and it wasn't fair for me to spend money on treating it. I hadn't so much as hinted at an exchange. All of the employees are knowledgeable and friendly. A young man who works there once spent half an hour looking up an answer to a complicated question I had. This is definitely a business worth supporting.

The prices are good all around, they often have "package" deals running such as buy 3 fish get one…read morefree, or buy a bird and get the "starter kit" for free. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they don't seem afraid to help you make compatibility decisions, where a lot of other pet stores will tell you whatever it takes to sell you something. The animals they have are in excellent health, and their habits are always spotless. Whenever I buy fish from PetCo they end up being diseased and often killing the fish I already had within a few days. Tropical Adventure is the only store I trust to sell me fish that are healthy, and won't be bringing illness into my tank. My only gripe, and it's a small one, is they don't have much of a selection. They are a small pet store, you can't expect them to have an inventory the size of a chain store.

From the get-go, Hailey was rude and unprofessional; she was unsure of how to do his haircut because of minor matting behind his elbows and kept repeating "i don't know, I'll try.". To my understanding, Petco has policies and requirements for groomers and their respective credentials, but it seemed like the team as a whole lacked the fundamentals. After speaking with Hailey over the phone to provide clarification and ask if I could answer any questions, she said no and that I should expect Bruno in about 4 hours. About an hour and a half later, the "previous salon manager" Ashley calls me saying that he is matted all over and that I need to pick him up or else they will shave him as the only solution. In a passive-aggressive and condescending manner, she disregarded any autonomy we have in our dog's style and showed a complete lack of professionalism. Upon picking him up, I spoke with the store manager, Rendy who was kind enough to tell us the truth behind why they refused to work on Bruno. In a professional way, she said that they do not want to upset picky dog owners; every dog owner deserves to be picky if they spend a considerable amount of time maintaining their coat. Rendy admitted that Ashley should not have provided misinformation over the phone falsely claiming that he is matted all over. The salon tech showed my wife how they brush through the coat and the second a tangle stops the brush, they diagnose it as all-around matting and thus refuse service. Although Rendy was kind enough to try justifying the groomer's lack of professionalism, she agreed and stated "It would have been worse if they continued with Bruno." I have had a poor experience with Petco before in which headquarters reached out, once again apologizing for a store's lack of professionalism. I think I am recognizing the trend. I believe if you have a low-maintenance dog with fairly straightforward genetic coat patterns, Petco is actually not a bad idea. However, if you are looking for someone who is educated in more modern genetically cross bred dogs, find an actual professional; quality over quantity!

They put very little time and money towards the animals and always claim to be "out of room" or "full". If they make so much, why are they not expanding? Oh wait, they are! A direct quote from a Q and A to them recently: "How much have you expanded since 2020?" Their direct quote answer: "4." 4?? 4!! In 2 years, with almost $2million a year, and they've only expanded by 4!? Are you kidding me?! Their direct quote as an answer to that: "well, it's hard to get contractors to do it," ect. Blah, blah, blah. So you mean to tell me that out of all the contractors in Jonesboro, Paragould, and allllll the other surrounding areas, NONE will allow themselves to be hired for your organization? If that doesn't speak for itself than I don't know what does! Guess what else I've learned by looking at their taxes - the organization works for themselves. They call themselves "employees", not "volunteers", which confirms further what their taxes report - they're cutting themselves a paycheck out of what is donated to the animals! Hundreds of thousands in salaries in fact! Non-profit my ass! It's as bad as getting a check from the government for the child you adopted and giving yourself a manicure with the money instead of using it for the child! If they wanted a career with it, don't claim it's non-profit, and spend more time with the animals or with the organization! They need love, care, bonding, and socialization! What does 5 hours per week per person provide enough time for with 60 animals? If I were to guess, it's only enough time to feed and water and clean up after them. Talk about animal inprisonment! They're like inmates, here's your food, water, a place to crap, and a roof over your head. See ya on the other side once someone bails you out! Pathetic! How about using the money to do what it's donated for? Like expanding, better, upgraded facilities, animal food pantry, donating to animals in need and other organizations or to people who need help with vet fees. Speaking of vet fees, lower your adoption fees! Everyone knows that vets help organizations with vaccination, spay, and neuter fees, by reduced fees and sometimes not even charging anything at all depending on the vet, so stop claiming the adoption fees are to cover vet fees. By the way, their backup reason doesn't work either (another direct quote): "If people can't afford a $160 dog then they can't afford to take care of it." What a slap in the face to those with pets who are poor or in poverty! And also, so not true! Name a time someone spent $160 on a trip to get dog/cat food for their dogs/cats. Most people have 1-3 dogs or cats per household. Look it up. And I highly doubt 1-3 dogs/cats can even eat $160 worth of dog/cat food bags per week. This whole organization is based on lies and scams. I've only discussed the most obvious in this review. To go over the rest would take days. And by the way, I WANT A REFUND FOR ALL MY DONATIONS I'VE MADE TO YOUR ORGANIZATION, and i think you should all resign and let someone else take over who puts the animals and organization first!

I fed him after he had calmed down that night, checked back that morning and my water was cloudy just thought the tank was gross, I had somewhere to go that morning and didn't have time to clean it. I regret it came back that night and he was cover in a thick weird film that I found out is a bacterial infection and it had killed him I had him for thirty hours!
