We recently moved to the area and needed…read morea new groomer, as we have only taken our dog to one person, and after some research I decided to try Wendy's. On the phone and in person they were very pleasant and looked busy, and they gave me a lengthy consultation, so I felt pretty good about the situation. I asked her to do "poodle paws" on my golden doodle, which means you taper in the paws very short instead of leaving them shaggy (which looks a little ridiculous at first but anyone with a dog who has shaggy paws would know why this makes things a little easier!) I even showed her pictures of what my previous groomer had done as a reference. When I went to pick her up everything looked pretty good except for the fact they took the paws SO SO short, they looked scary. But I thought, oh well, they will grow back and next time I would tell them not to go as short. Then when we got home I noticed my dog licking her paws and when I went to check it out I saw that they were BURNED from the clipper on all four paws and they had burned her upper lip raw as well. Her one paw was so bad that we had to wrap it for almost a week and put wound cream on it. Two weeks later and her paws are healed, but her lip is still healing. Seeing her in pain and uncomfortable for almost 2 weeks broke my heart, and I pray that this will not scar her for life every time I take her to a (DIFFERENT!) groomer.

Actually, Hollywood Feed has a few dedicated spots in front of the store. I noticed their delivery vehicle as well. I went in and was immediately greeted by staff. I was told they are out of Dayton (I hope I remember that right) and they are trying to make a presence in Columbus. I was asked questions about my pets, and given a sales flyer. They have large selections of healthy petfood and treats, as well as toys and other pet supplies. I purchased a couple of single meals for my dog, and two jerky treats for her. I may come back - it would be convenient since I hit up TJ's weekly. I was invited to bring my dog in, since pets are welcome.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Decent selection of garden and farm supplies, plus some country-home decor. Snacks up front. Fair prices. I think of TSC as one stop shopping, but you can get some of this stuff cheaper elsewhere if you make several trips to big box hardware or garden places. Convenient, and had what I needed. However our neighbor brings their dogs here so I figured why not give it a try. It's a pay before you wash your pet situation, where Pet People is generally pay after you wash. We headed to the back corner of the store (behind the pet food, along the same wall as the clearance items). Make sure you ask about towels, etc as they may be locked in the cabinet in the wash area. There are two wash stations in the pet wash area. They are not divided as the wash bays are at Pet People Worthington. So this might be something to keep in mind if you have a spicy/not keen on other animals pet that you're aiming to wash. Each station has a wash tub with a ramp and a hot/cold water sprayer with adjustable sprayer. (The ramp that comes down from the wash tub was a super convenient way to get our older dog up into that tub.) Easy access to the shampoos and conditioner from the wash tub. (Three options of shampoos and a conditioner. ) Both stations have a dryer and an adjustable grooming table for easier brushing, drying, and nail trimming. Is this my new go-to for washing the dog? Most likely not, I like being able to pick up our standard brands of pet food, browse cat toys, snag treats and wash Dudley dog in one fail swoop. TSC doesn't have a 'frequent flyer' punch card that leads to a free wash after a certain number though. The aprons were worse for the wear and needed to be replaced (ex. the neck straps were hanging on by threads.) The washing area itself was no where near as clean/tidy as what I've known at Pet People. The pet wash is more affordable at TSC though, which could factor in. *PetPeople is now Pet People by Hollywood Feed, I have not used the pet wash at the Worthington High Street location since the name change.

(3/5 stars) This was…read moremy first time trying the self-serve dog wash at Pet Supplies Plus. My mom and I brought Riley and Amir, and I left thinking, "I'd do this again." One thing that's worth knowing before you go is the pricing. The regular wash is $14 per dog, but Rewards members can prepay for five washes at $8 each, which saves over 40%. If you're planning to wash your dog more than once, that's the route I'd take. They provide the shampoo, conditioner, brushes, dryers, towels, and everything else you need, so you don't have to pack up your own supplies. The biggest downside for me was the setup. You spend the entire wash bent over your dog, and my back was definitely feeling it by the end. There's also no barrier between you and your dog, so when they decide to shake--and let's be honest, they will--you'll probably end up wearing some of the bath yourself. I also wasn't a fan of the towels. They technically provide them, but they're really small and didn't absorb much water. They felt more like they were there because towels are expected than because they actually help. I'd bring an old towel from home next time. Other than that, everything worked well. The dryers had plenty of power, the supplies were stocked, and it was nice not having to clean up my own bathroom afterward. Overall, I'd come back. I still prefer another self-serve wash I use because I like having a barrier between me and the dog, but if Pet Supplies Plus is the closest option--or you're using the prepaid Rewards deal--it's a solid choice.
