There were 3 moments through the experience that motivated me to write this review: 1. No pressure on fees: I told sales associate Linda our budget and she ensured to stay in it. If I was attracted to something a bit more expensive she did warn me before taking it out of display and even showed me comparables that were in my budget. They not only understand a couple's desire to buy wedding rings but understand the bigger picture of planning a wedding itself and therefore are very considerate when discussing prices. 2. The team's patience: My husband and I went into the store not knowing exactly what we wanted. We stayed there for a very long time looking and they never pressured us to buy. They kept advising us to take our time because they understand how big of a decision this is. 3. Very informative: My husband works as an Electrician and therefore they adjusted ring recommendations to rings that don't scratch easily. They also taught me how to clean the rings to keep it an extra shine as well as mentioned how easy it is to resize in the future. Thank you to the Thai family who provided my fiance and I an excellent experience at Hollywood Diamond! I had already (surprise) proposed to my fiance with a placeholder ring - the next step for us was to start shopping. We heard about Hollywood Diamond through word-of-mouth, and thought we could sit down to educate ourselves about diamonds, as well as try on some settings. Thach and his wife had the patience of saints to sit down with us for 2 hours to educate us on the 4 C's of a diamond, lab vs. mined, sizing, settings, literally any question and concern we could think of - Thach took seriously and alleviated our thoughts. (A girl can dream a little.) So years ago I sent my BF a picture of a ring. My knowledge of diamonds was very minor but they made me feel comfortable and took their time to explain every single detail. Thach is very knowledgeable when it comes to diamonds. He will not recommend a diamond that he would not like himself. Got a chain for a necklace replaced here when pandora (where the necklace was from) refused. They were so friendly and offered us a superb deal. I have also gotten a locket engraved at their previous location. First went to Michael Hill but they were unclear on what the lettering would look like and the prices were ridiculous. Hollywood Diamond did a beautiful job on the engraving and I was so happy with it. Both times service was great and the prices were unbeatable. I will definitely return if I ever need jewellery repairs or engravings. There is a large selection of beautiful jewellery in-store, mostly all reasonably priced. Friendly service. Reasonably priced. One of our watch clasps was broken. They fixed it right on the spot for free. A different place we went to wanted to sell us a new clasp and install it for a hefty fee. Additionally, these guys charged $10 (vs. $15 at Dufferin Mall) to replace a watch battery. I went there to get a new battery in a few watches. They did this and also repaired another watch strap and in a clever way that saved me from having to send it away. The fee charged for everything was very reasonable and the service and the staff were excellent. The place is pristine with some beautiful jewelry on display. The owner of Hollywood Diamond jewelry store scammed me on the replacement of a few different watch batteries. That is, a replacement battery for a watch should last between one and two years, but the battery that the owner of Hollywood Diamond placed in one of my watches on two separate occasions only lasted approximately five months. He told me that the battery didn't last very long because the watch itself is several years old, but a replacement battery should still last longer than five months. On the most recent occasion I told the owner of Hollywood Diamond jewelry to replace the battery right in front of me, which he did so that I could see that it was a new battery that he was using to replace the dead battery, but he then took my watch into a back room for several minutes, and I don't know why he took my watch into his back room,or what he did with my watch in his back room, but again after about five months the 'new' battery that he put in my watch died, so one can draw their own conclusions. read more
