I was able to recreate the correct sounds right away! I feel so good about it! Cant wait to finish the course and sound like an American! Yay! Thank you Alex and Amy for those videos. I was sure that the road to achieving a Standard American accent was pretty bumpy and hard, and I will have to minimize using my native languages as much as possible (a few of my fellow actors do that), but it turns out it's a joyful ride! Thank you again!

I had saved his name as a place I would try if I ever got a big audition. I did get two auditions for two shorts that are going to be showcased at Tribeca (should have gone to him!). I saw that he was offering an On-Camera Self Tape Mastery 3-day Intensive. He doesn't offer classes frequently so I jumped at the chance to get in. These classes fill up fast as I believe it's a max of 6 students. I was extremely nervous because I knew I was going to be the most green actor there. And his clients book big jobs so I was expecting he was going to be super tough on me. But Jonathan created such a safe environment to have fun and that it's okay to make mistakes and learn. Each day he shares his wisdom and every person gets in front of the camera. You also get the tape from each day so you can see your progress. I enjoyed his easy-going, no-BS teaching approach. Just from the three days with him, I can tell that he is a great acting coach, reader and that he really cares for his clients and want them all to win. He treats his client's auditions as if he was the one auditioning and gives his 110%. So not only do the tapes visually look amazing, he will pull the best he can out of you. As far as parking, if it's the evening 5-8PM class, there are at least 4 metered parking right in front of his studio and more across the street and a few blocks away. Two out of three days, we were able to grab a spot right in front. It's 2 hours metered parking, but he will remind you close to the 2 hour mark to go fill the meters. I believe it's $1/hr (which isn't bad considering for LA). I can't wait to do self-tapes here! Go here and you won't regret it !

Each person depending on where…read moreyou are will be different, but I found that they really helped in letting out my voice and thinking of it as an instrument in new ways. The only negative was some miscommunication with the packaged lessons. I was given the impression that the expiration date wasn't something to worry about, and so the date passed and I had a number of unused ones. It was brought up when trying to schedule the next lesson, and it ended up that none of the remaining lessons could be redeemed without repurchasing. I was really upset and bummed about it, since if I had known the date was a hard and fast rule, I absolutely would've marked it and really made sure to use them in time. So just be aware that in the package, you DEFINITELY need to get your lessons done by the expiration date if you want to use them all. It's probably a good idea to check on those details (the expiration date and how many classes you have left), every month or so, if not every lesson, just to be on the same page. Other than that, the Voice Box was solid. Ross was a great teacher with a lot to learn from, and I took away something new at almost each lesson.
