Let's just say, once I learned about Tom, I NEVER take my car anywhere else. OK, sure, there are other places that can do a fast job, but never as thorough or complete. Tom takes the time to evaluate what needs to be done. And then just does it! My leather and vinyl interior look like new. He even polished my headlights this time - sweet. 2012 Fiat looks like new every time I go to him. He is a great person, KJ (fur buddy) is a great greeter. Tom's prices are exceptionally reasonable for the amount of time and detail he spends on each and every car (regardless if it is vintage or modern). HONEYBAKED HAM is.... the best. I get their ham a few times a year and have never been let down or disappointed. The holiday pickup can be a bit annoying but it's the general public / people not HBH, that is creating that. I always order online, after UPS didn't deliver on time. I have a dog. I have a suv. I was totally honest and clear when I dropped it off there was dog hair, a lot of it, and this was why I wanted the car detailed. I also stated that the outside just needed to be washed but the inside was where I wanted all the attention and focus, i wanted the dog hair removed. I expected about 90% of the hair to be removed. When I went to pick up my car I noticed about 50% of the hair inside was removed. When I pay for a detail and I pay extra for dog hair I expect my low expectations to met. This was not the case. The guy detailing actually said to me, "you must do something detail oriented cause you are noticing the details". Um ya dude when a detail is paid for details will be checked. Leaving dog hair on headliner, in between seats, and under seats is not a detail but instead a wash with inside vacuum. Maybe I caught him on an off day....but i was left disappointed when I really didnt expect much. read more

What a gem of a place and a super nice guy. Tom is professional, an excellent communicator, polite, thoughtful, and has a very strong attention to detail mindset. I found him via Yelp, I gave a call late in the evening and he answered right away, my BMW SUV (2016 X5) was dropped off the next morning and ready for me in the early afternoon. I dropped it off covered with tree pollen and oak tree sap and with the interior filled with muddy mats and dog hair. When I picked it up, it truly looked and felt brand new, I noticed a far superior job than anywhere else I had taken it prior. Pricing is VERY fair, much less than what I've paid prior either dropping it off at other places in Novato, or having it detailed at my house. 5 stars for Hollywood Details!! This is the BEST detail shop I have ever experienced in my long "car loving" life. Tom is a perfectionist and his prices are fair. He far exceeds all my expectations. His work area is not very neat and tidy but, your car detail always comes out perfect. Being a car buff I have had several MBZ, Porsche and BMW's. But ,Tom has detailed twice our old Lexus SUV that we use for grandkids, golf, beach ,park etc. I stood back after he finished and it looks like a new car. Don't get me wrong he will make any car look like new. One time a truck ran into the rear of our Lexus and Tom sent me to the best place. Love this place. Sure, it's not a fancy shop and it's tucked away behind a building so regular people won't see it.. but this place is the best.. the owner is laid back and super knowledgable and has helped me every time.. Example.. my mom scraped her car on something and so he buffed if out before my dad was aware of the incident (!), and several times I brought my car in when my best friend's dog jumped and scraped my car like Freddy Krueger!! Hollywood Details in Novato was discovered by my partner when I was looking for a headlight "polisher" and I looked the firm up. I wanted to be local. Made an appointment, and I was greeted by his dog KJ when I arrived. His price was reasonable, and the results are wonderful. We now can see at night while driving. Tom, Mr. Hollywood himself, and his side kick The Old Man (his sweet dog) did a FANTASTIC job detailing my car. He also repainted one of the doors and that is FANTASTIC as well. I will be taking my car to him from now on. He is very affordable (more so than the other local options) and he does GREAT work.
