This review is long overdue! Nikki is so much more than a…read morephenomenal photographer. Nikki is thoughtful, organized, generous, and just a genius at what she does. My wedding was originally scheduled before the pandemic. As things started to shut down, things started to get scared. Vendors started pushing back, doing dark, etc and, Nikki was the first one to call and help work through solutions. She even offered to get on the phone with me to problem solve with the more difficult vendors who refused to put the wedding on hold until they were given more money! We re-scheduled for a smaller wedding, and I opted out of a wedding planner. The event took place in several locations. It was hot, and the bridal party included small children and a baby. I created custom timelines for everyone. As usual, the day got off to a late start and it started to get very stressful. Nikki was the only person who had the timeline in hand, and she was watching the clock like a hawk to make sure everyone got back on and stayed on track. I could not believe how she was able to capture such amazing photos while stepping in as the planner. In terms of photography, while I had particular requests for the photos I wanted, she brought brilliant ideas to the table. The entire day (as well as throughout our engagement photos), she was fun, easy-going, and made my husband, who hates taking pictures and is usually very serious, lighten up and laugh. The entire family took joy in working with her. Oh, and when we encountered venue staff who did not want to let us take pics or put a limit on it (during both engagement and wedding), she was able to negotiate and work with them until we got the perfect shot. I got my wedding photos back quickly and was in total awe. Throughout the entire process, she was very communicative and prompt. I'm not sure how this superhuman manages to crush it at her job, on top of everything else. I am so grateful to Nikki for being a part of my special day. Anyone would be a fool to hire anyone other than Nikki to capture and be a part of the most special day.

Not only were…read moreour pictures remarkable, Nikki spent a lot of time and energy looking for that "perfect spot" I had envisioned in my head. And she nailed it! Nikki truly has a gift in what she does. She's fun, passionate, sweet, dependable, patient if you have little ones (and husbands lol) and extremely talented. Nikki was all over the place in efforts to get that perfect shot. She brought out the best in our family through her photos. I have a 3 year old daughter and some of my favorite shots are of her. Nikki worked so well with her. And Nikki listens to you, which was very important to me. She understood the feel and look I wanted these photos to portray and completely exceeded our expectations. Taking family photos is not my husband's absolute favorite thing but he really enjoyed it with Nikki because of how natural she made us feel. Most of the time, we were just walking, playing, exploring the streams, and tickling our daughter. And she captured it all! That night Nikki sent us a few edited shots she had taken and I could not stop staring at them! I was in love. Within a few days, we got the rest and THEY WERE PERFECT!!! We wasted no time making prints, creating photo books for our family, and placing them on our walls to admire them everyday. We loved them so much that we already booked with her for this year. In a nutshell, Nikki Rivera is the best and you will not regret working with her. You're only regret will be that you wished you found her sooner.

Heirloom portraits are more of a southern thing so I sent her inspiration pictures for reference. She said she could do it so I ended up booking her for a session. She had tons of props and outfits to choose from. We decided to go the simpler route and opted for no props with a simple white background. The session ended up being 15 minutes (she said she got THE shot). After about a week, Cristal sent me a soft proof gallery with about 75 photos to choose from. I picked my 12 and texted her feedback on the ones I wanted more/less cropped. She also nailed the vignette on the heirloom portraits; it was exactly what I was looking for! She sent me a second gallery with my 12 picks, also including them in B&W and different editing styles (34 total). Cristal had great communication, and will go above and beyond to make sure you love your pictures! I would highly recommend her if you live in the IE area.
