DO NOT GO HERE TO GET ITEMS ALTERED! This was my first time ever getting anything altered so I picked this place because it had pretty good reviews and word of mouth for my bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding. The first time I go there, I ask to have the hem of my dress moved up so it doesn't drag, the slit of my dress lowered so my whole leg isn't out, and the waist brought in because it was too big. I drop it off and take my receipt. I come back a week later, get my dress, pay and try it on and the waist was never brought in. I go back and I give them my receipt and even though I was within the 10 days, they would not adjust for free because it wasn't written down on the receipt originally but they will give me a 50% discount to get the waist brought in. So I figure okay, maybe I should have checked the receipt for my services no biggie that's my bad I'll just pay again. I get remeasured and drop my dress off again for my waistband to be made smaller like I asked originally. They messed up my zipper so bad where my dress looks like absolute crap. The zipper and the fabric are all bunched up and it is difficult to zip and unzip my dress. If you look closely at all the work done on my dress this place is a scam. The 3 inches where the slit of my dress was re-sewn is falling out. They seem like such nice people too. DO NOT go here to get altered!! Please go somewhere else!!!! read more

Price gouging at its finest! I just dropped off 2 scrub shirts to have darts added in the back and 1 top to be taken in on the sides and the thin elastic on the sleeves replaced (which Holly stated she would only be able to "tighten the elastic"). My total ticket price: 1 top: $25 1 scrub shirt: $15 1 scrub shirt: $15 __Total_____ : $55.00! I have had my clothes and scrubs altered for many years due to petite sizes are still often to long. I have NEVER been charged such high prices. After reading reviews (where people were charged A LOT LESS) and talking to several people (who have all agreed that is a very high price), I have learned that I was charged a higher than average price. Also, I was told 1 week for pick up "because they are very busy", when another customer who was there at the same time as me and having 4 dress pants hemmed and tailored, was told 4 days. Needless to say, I will be trying one of the many other places to take my alterations to. read more

I've had a "tough as nails" work jacket for over 40 years - love it! Much to my dismay, the zipper broke - and I thought it might be a goner. I doubted that anyone replaced zippers these days, or if they did - it would likely cost more than two new jackets! With little optimism, I did some online research, learned about Holly Alterations, called them - and am VERY PLEASED to report that I have my jacket back - with a sturdy new zipper! I brought in a bridesmaid dress to be hemmed and taken in. The size and length turned out fine, but I was told the lace hem on the bottom couldn't still have the original look and would just be folded up. Somehow all the other bridesmaids managed to have their dresses hemmed with the lace at the bottom intact, so I don't know why it wasn't an option. I was disappointed with this experience after reading all the positive reviews on here. I probably won't return. read more

However, today I took out a pair of pants that were recently hemmed, tried them on, and noticed they were over 2 inches too short. She tried to claim that she wasn't responsible for any damages done to clothes. Located in between Office Depot and Walgreens near the intersection of Providence and Broadway. Awesome prices, very friendly and very timely. Open M-F 10-6 and Sat 10-3 My husband and I each had a pair of trousers to adjust, mine needed tapering and my husband needed a hem taken up. Holly Alterations had it done quickly and did a great job! Not only that, they were very honest in directing my husband not to bother with the tapering he requested, as it would have been only 1/4 of an inch, and not that much difference (they could have let us go through with it getting our money for the job, but they were honest in their assessment of the request!). Also, when we picked up our items I asked their recommendation of where to find a special button for a cardigan I had at home. They pointed me in the direction of JoAnn's but asked me to wait a moment while one of them headed to the back. She came back with a jar of buttons similar to the one I was looking for, and found one. She gave it to me at no charge. I bought a pair of pants and the first day I wore them the stitching came lose around the zipper. After a recommendation from a friend, I took the pants into Holly Alterations. When I arrived, she told me to sit while she fixed them immediately. Less than a minute later, she returned and they looked brand new! She said the repair was free. Great prices for great work. They have a sense of humor there, too. Shoulders up on a dress was $18 and taking in at waist on a skirt was $22. At another place in town I (used) to go to it was $35 for shoulders up and $30 for taking in at the waist for the same work. read more
