After moving back to Missouri from New York, I went on a hunt for a good seamstress, found Perfect Fit, and she's been amazing from day one. She has a quiet demeanor, but she is kind, professional, and her work speaks volumes. I'm quite picky (and admittedly awkward about my requests), yet she consistently understands what I want and delivers flawlessly. Having lived in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, New York, and New Orleans, I can say she's one of the best seamstresses I've known--second only to my grandmother, who also owned a seamstress shop. Yes, her prices might be on the higher side, but the results are always perfect. Over the years, I've given her some quirky requests, and she nails them every time. I went in with a dress to get the straps shortened and she pulled the dress just perfectly and suggested some darts as well to get a more custom fit. If you pay cash you get a discount. This woman is magic!!! I am so appreciative of her. She was so sweet and fufilled my request perfectly. I had ordered a dress online and it came with a broken zipper, I needed it the next day for a wedding and my friend referred me to Perfect Fit Alterations. Six hours later she was able to hand it back to me, in perfect condition. The price of the replacement zipper was $25, but since it was rushed, my total was $37. DO NOT recommend. Terrible customer service extreme lack of professionalism, do NOT recommend. Owner/employee who is typically there most days does a horrible job a greeting and listening to customers needs as stated in several other reviews. She appeared extremely rude and frustrated when I asked her to perform certain alterations stating, "I don't want to do that, I can't do that." Regardless of all the positive reviews, the owner needs to understand that if you are attempting to attract NEW customers, customer service and appropriate respectful service is REQUIRED AND needed. There are several other alternations shops in town to choose from. This shop missed out on a customer who actually PAYS for custom alterations due to her unprofessional and utterly rude attitude. Her shop was not busy at all, so I don't understand what her issue was. The place is also overpriced for basic alterations. The other reviews stating experiences of her unprofessional customer service are correct. I did NOT feel valued as a customer and will NOT return. I took my wedding dress here after a friend recommended it. I was wanting a lot of bead work and sequins to be added on the dress as well as quite a bit of altering. I was super pleased with how quick her turn around time was and I could not find one fault in anything, which is VERY hard for me since I have the eye of a perfectionist. Not sure if the lady is just taking advantage of the fact that I am a college kid that seems easily convinced or okay with any price, but the prices she came up with for making pants an inch shorter and a dress smaller rounded to $65 which is outrageous for the work being done. Although I walked out quiet, I will never resort nor recommend here. read more

I can't comment on regular clothes, but DO NOT take your wedding dress here for alterations. I was charged $400+ for simple alterations: just needed the shoulders taken up (I have a short torso) and the hem shortened. I asked for the waist to be taken in but honestly did not see a difference in the before and after of that. Finally, the bustle. My dress had a lot of fabric and somehow this lady thought one button would hold the dress up. It broke MULTIPLE buttons off my dress during the night. At the end, my bridesmaids had to use 6 safety pin to bustle my dress. SO NOT WORTH WHAT SHE CHARGED ME. Go somewhere else read more

I would not recommend this alteration place for anyone!! The lady is VERY grumpy and rude!! Supposedly, there is a 30 day guarantee if you are not satisfied. Well, I was not satisfied, so I took it back to be fixed and she was very rude and tried to talk me out of my decision to have it fixed because "it is more work for me" (her exact words). I feel like if I'm paying you $15 for a basic hem, you BETTER do a good job!! Overall, I would strongly recommend staying away from this place; not a very friendly lady and the prices are way over-priced, not to mention it took about 5 days turn-around time--not very good for a basic alteration. read more

I heard about this place from a few friends who had gotten their suits altered here and were very happy with the service and price. Previously, I had my alterations done at French Laundry, which was fine, but a little pricey, so I decided to try this place. First, I needed the sleeves of my suit jacket taken in. It was a pretty easy fix and the price reflected that. Next, I had to get a dress DRASTICALLY tailored for a wedding I was going to. Not only did we have to take off a bunch of the dress length-wise, it had to be taken in a lot around my bust. This wouldn't have been that big of an issue if it didnt require restitching of the extensive bead design. So, in all, the dress needed a ton of work in order to properly fit me. The alterations for the dress were pricey, but she also did a lot of work on it that I was VERY impressed with. When I went to pick it up, I tried it on and found that a little more needed to be taken in at the bust (which would require more removal/sewing of beads). Since I needed the dress drycleaned that day and I was leaving town in 2 days, I asked if it was at all possible for the alteration to be done later that day. She was more than happy to comply. I went back a few hours later, tried on the dress, and it was perfect. I highly recommend this place for tailoring. read more

The alteration job itself turned out great, but the customer service was piss poor. I brought in two pairs of jeans for a hem job. I picked up the jeans a week later to find out that the length was still too long. I brought the jeans back in and the lady tried blaming me for the long length. She said that I told them to hem the jeans at that length...not possible since the jeans were still dragging on the ground. She tried to tell me that I wore different shoes the first time which I know I didn't. I originally paid $40 for the hem and an additional $20 because she didn't do her job right. If you want good customer service, own up to your mistake and don't charge an additional fee for your mistake. The service was crap, place was overpriced, and owners were extremely rude and blabbing in their language. NEVER GO HERE---there are better places in Columbia. read more
