Best part of this place is the ambience. The food is nothing to write home about, burgers are small, lacking flavor. The fries are terrible. Definitely frozen fries, no seasoning at all, unless you get the dune fries which are seasoned with Old Bay. A place like this can do so much better with a little bit of effort. Bigger burgers, that are favorable and home cut fries would be My suggestion, especially if your big sell item is burgers and fries. Came in for a mint chocolate chip Milkshake. But with a plot twist...I brought in my own double shot of espresso to add to it. The young man who waited in me looked momentarily surprised but made me a milkshake worth writing home about! It was delicious. Yum yum yum. This place was a 10/10 for me. As soon as we got there it was such a cute chill vibe, we sat ourselves outside but there was availability at some of the barstools inside. Our server came over with water and menus quite quickly and was so friendly and nice. I got the holiday (regular) single cheeseburger with onions, pickles, and lettuce. It was so good, it was a smash burger so perfectly thin and easy to eat. Also got the onion rings which were perfect. The slam burger and ol Barney burger were also given delicious reviews--11/10 by my company. The cheese fries were also very good. Lastly we got milkshakes. Oh my! These were decadent; perfectly thick but still manageable to drink or eat. The service remained consistently great throughout our meal. We went here last night for dessert since we have heard great things about their cake slices. When you walk in there is a round bar to sit at and all of the cakes in the middle. The waiter that helped us was very friendly and gave recommendations since it was our first time there. We ordered the chocolate-chocolate and the vanilla-white slices. My chocolate slice was a little dry and the icing was crumbly, and unfortunately was not as good as I expected. The vanilla-white slice was a little dry as well and had a marshmallow frosting. We are thinking they may have been not as good since it's not the height of the season yet. We were glad we tried this LBI staple though and may try it again later this summer! read more

Great spot in the middle of a residential area of LBI. They had tons of outdoor seating but we sat inside because it was nostalgic to look at the desserts and all the framed pictures on the walls. This spot is very straight forward, Burgers, grilled cheese, milkshakes, ice cream and a ton of homemade desserts. I got the slam burger and was honestly a little hesitant about the the thousand island on the burger but it was delicious. It's a thin patty and just super simple ingredients but it definitely hits the spot. The buns are also super soft and fresh. Dessert seems like a must here. I went with the yellow cake and chocolate frosting with a small scoop of ice cream. It is a huge portion so sharing is obviously a great idea. Everything was great, I'd love to try their pies next time. There was a ton of teenagers working behind the counter. The service was absolutely fantastic everyone was very helpful always checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Yelp is wrong, they are open 6/15. There is a reason this is so highly rated. Solid food, great service by nice kids, cool retro ambiance. Everything is hot and cooked to order. Very cute place to get lunch! My boyfriend and I stopped for lunch because of the unique charm from outside, and we assumed it would have a very diverse menu. We were hooked as soon as we stepped inside! A beautiful round bar in an old original building with a simple, but big menu. Every staff member was kind and courteous. My company and I split a cheeseburger, cheesefries and an order of onion rings (which were out of this world!) The bill was pretty affordable, and we wished we could have tried one of their cakes! Came here this past Friday. Had the 'Ol Barney Burger.' Better known as a bacon cheeseburger with the trimmings and a pickle chip. Cooked perfectly along with fries and onion rings, both a winner. For dessert it was a huge slice of the Lady Lord Baltimore cake, three layers, two white and one chocolate (or was it the other way?). Very fresh and verrrry good. Took a slice of Banana Cream Pie, that was a disappointment, but, the key lime pie was killer! The server behind the counter was thorough and helpful. Had a chance to try the slam burger, crab cake sandwich, old bay cheese fries and root beer float. Everything was amazing. Burger was seasoned perfectly for my taste and filling enough. Old bay cheese fries were great. I enjoyed them but was a bit heavy on the old bay seasoning so if you're not a fan of the old bay, go regular. This is exactly what it says!!! Snack bar! No thrills it's comfort food. Hamburger's, variety of grilled cheese, chicken sandwich, root beer floats, Crab cake, cake and pie... All American ! It's actually really cute and the back yard seating is very pretty with it's landscaping. It's very fast for takeout. I used to love the snack bar. Came here every summer. I came in tonight for a piece of cake w my daughter- yellow cake w chocolate frosting. The cake was dry and the icing flakes and fell off when you touched it w a fork. WTF? Icing should melt into your fork as you cut the cake, not flake off like dandruff. The cake was $7.50 which I wouldn't mind paying if it were fresh and delicious. Then I pay with $20 cash and receive $12 in change. Again, WTF?!?!
