When I came downstairs after a pretty miserable drive where it rained the entire time, we were starving and wondering what might still be open. The owner was chatting with people in the dining room and went through a map and menus of nearby places to try out. Breakfast the next morning is community style where you may be sitting across another guest at your table. Breakfast was delicious and included in house prepared pound cake. They asked if we wanted the meat or vegetarian quiche ahead of time and since we couldnt decide we got both and split both haha. We came up during winter when there was still snow on the ground, and when we showed up it was rainy and dark, but in the light of day next morning we could see that the grounds were beautiful. I'm currently staying at this Holiday Inn while my father is in hospice care, and although the property itself is new, clean, and nicely updated with decent amenities, my experience has been extremely disappointing. This hotel caters to large wedding parties, many of whom treat the building as a second party venue rather than a hotel. Despite being assigned to the "quiet floor" and being warned at check-in about potential noise, my first night included what felt like a full-blown frat party in the hallway. After a sleepless night, I suggested the hotel consider simple courtesy signage--similar to what some bars use--to remind guests to respect others as they return to their rooms. This is a reasonable, basic step, and it shouldn't fall on guests to propose it. An even more concerning issue was the front desk service. When I asked for matches to light a candle to say a prayer for my father, I fully expected a polite safety-related decline. Instead, the employee said, "100% no problem--promise you will burn this place to the ground." Whether meant as a joke or not, it was wildly inappropriate, unprofessional, and deeply unsettling given the circumstances. When I asked another staff member the following evening if I should expect another night like the first, the response was simply, "That's how people are these days." No reassurance, no ownership, and no sense of hospitality. Overall, the lack of guest control, poor handling of disruptive events, coupled with shockingly unprofessional staff interactions have made an already difficult time even harder. I hope management addresses these issues, because the property has potential--but right now, the guest experience falls far short of acceptable.

I think that's ridiculous. $9 at MOST would be appropriate to me. I'm docking the two stars for the bar service. The hotel seemed to tell all three wedding blocks staying here that they could all have their after party at the hotel bar. It was simply way too many people. The service was disappointing, too. It's a basic spot, nothing glaringly wrong to me. Plenty of parking. I would stay here again.

From the moment we arrived, we felt cared for. No tipping worries, a warm welcome with a handy tote and waterbottle, and a quick orientation set the tone. Yes, it's a splurge--but worth every penny for the details alone. We loved strolling the nature trails, spotting deer, and relaxing in the woods cabin stocked with water, tea, bug wipes, and even a s'mores kit (plus a real bathroom few steps away!) Kayaking was peaceful, and our massages melted the stress away--though I do wish they had included fingers! The Whisper Lounge was a dream: dim lights, cozy silence, and snacks that let you fully unwind. Coffee/tea/water everywhere. Meals were fresh, organic, and delicious--especially the salads straight from their farm. The three included meals per day made dining a highlight (just don't recommend the pork bao - dry side) We took chakra yoga, tai chi, self defense and even a sketch/painting class--everything was thoughtfully led and enriching. Loved all of our instructors! Only feedback: separate the activity desk from the spa desk, as the spa reps seemed stressed. Also be sure to check the bill to ensure you are not charged an extra meal. For some strange reason, the hot tub has not worked both on this most recent stay and when I'd been here prior. The water has always been "lukewarm" at best. The staff had mentioned being aware of the issue, and that it was being "worked on", but no improvement had been made. I specifically book hotels with indoor pools (and ideally, hot tubs) because it's a means of relaxation I like to enjoy at the end of each day. It's hardly relaxing to sit in room temperature water, even if there are bubble jets. Since this appears to be a common issue with this hotel, they may want to invest in some equipment upgrades for their pool and hot tub to improve the guest experience. The little convenience store right next to the front desk is very convenient. Nice to run down for a quick snack or drink, but the cooler with their cold beverages wasn't keeping the drinks cold. I found myself buying multiple bottles of water, and putting them in my room refrigerator to make them cold enough to drink (since I like my water ice cold). It would be nice if products prices were labeled. The breakfast experience needs some help as well; the "flow" isn't obvious. There's a sign stating "please seat yourself" but after I'd seated myself I had to flag down someone because I didn't know whether I had to open a check, or just serve myself at the buffet. The person just said to serve myself. I went up by the buffet which was essentially empty. Another worker said she'd take my order "at the chefs window" - which I didn't see anywhere. I wandered aimlessly for a few moments after she'd disappeared, and she then reappeared and took my order off in the corner. It would have been nice to have a clear "flow" established. Instead of having people seat themselves, have a host seat them in an available seat, and a server check in before people go up to the buffet. This server can then advise latecomers if the buffet is closed, and take a la carte orders or offer whatever is available. There were also hairs left in my bathroom sink and on the rim of my bathtub. There definitely could have been better cleaning done on my room prior to it being released for the next guest (me). Also, the bathroom was about 20-30 degrees colder than my room. I stayed here during November 2019, so it wasn't more than 35 degrees outside. The room heat worked well, but the bathroom had no heat whatsoever, so going to the restroom in the middle of the night was far too jarring to be comfortable. All in all this is a convenient place to stay but I think other hotels in the area have their stuff together just a bit better.

I called Hilton Garden Inn 3 times to discuss this and had 3 very different, rude people telling me that is their fee and nothing can be done about it. I even called corporate, and was told it was their policy. Ok, nothing I can do at this point, but I will NEVER stay at another Hilton again. I go and check in, pay the $150.00 for early check in and go to my room. I come down, enter the lobby and see other guests checking in. Apparently, they were told if you download the Hilton App, you do NOT have to pay the early check in fee. So tell me, why did the 3 people I spoke to on the phone, as well as corporate and the girl that check me in, never me that??? This is unacceptable. UNACCEPTABLE. I did bring it back to their attention and the money was deducted from my account. When I asked the girl, why didn't you tell me about the APP, she said she was doing the best she can. Do not get scammed by this place. If they try to hit you up with the early check in fee, as about downloading the Hilton APP. They tried to take advantage of me. If I did not hear other people talking in the lobby, I would of never know and they would of gotten more money from me. Please be aware of this.
