This is what a roadside hotel should be! Extremely clean, friendly, comfortable, quiet and right off 75. When we rolled in close to midnight, we were greeted by Arthur who was the friendliest and most helpful hotel employee we've come across in a very long time. Check in took less than a minute and we were in our sparkling clean room another minute later. The bed was so comfortable. In the morning, another smiling face greeted us warmly in the lobby. (Sorry, I forgot to ask her name!) The included breakfast was well above average and also super clean. Jennifer kept things stocked, never stopped cleaning, answered questions, and was yet another positive and friendly staff member. I don't know who hires the employees here, but they have a real knack for finding gems! Overall, this experience far exceeded expectations. The hotel was very comfortable and provided a good night's sleep, just what we needed on a long drive. That's the good part and really the most important part I suppose. The bad part and really only reason it's 4 stars vs 5 is that my booking.com app wasn't working properly and had the hotel at $128 for the night before taxes. Since I couldn't get it to work (i recently upgraded my phone and suspect that's the reason), i asked the receptionist if he could match the price or do anything for me to get closer to it. He said he can't give any discounts and the rate is $199. That's crazy to me. I was checking in at midnight. I also signed up for Igh rewards but they said since i didn't sign up prior to my stay i can't get credit for the stay. Silly really, when you're trying to promote a rewards program but refuse to give the reward. read more

It's been awhile since I have stayed in a HIE from the IHG group of hotels. I was in town visiting family and thought I would give this hotel a try side of proximity to family and the highway and in large based on reviews and yelp member photos. Let me tell you that this hotel lived up to reviews and my expectations. I only stayed one night and it was my first experience here. Common areas of the hotel and the room itself was extremely clean, well taken care of, and appears that all areas were recently updated or just plain well maintained over the course of time. I believe it is just constantly well maintained and updated because at check in the desk clerk was talking about how after finishing room and common area updates/improvements the owners were updating and improving their office areas and she said it was @annoying@. Lol Like I said all was extremely clean and well appointed and in working order. From HVAC systems to elevators, etc. Parking lot was easy to navigate with rather spacious parking spots. Entry and exit from main roadway was extremely easy. Entry and exit from hotel after checking can be made through several points of access. The indoor pool is closed and there are signs indicating as such. There is a fitness room and a "business center with computer and printer access. There is a conference room that could be used for business meetings. However during my one night stay it was used as extra complimentary breakfast bar seating. Breakfast bar. Open from 6-9.. you will find everything from coffee, juice, milk to eggs, sausage and gravy, biscuits, muffins, toast and jelly, omelette s, and breakfast meats. All self served and very sanitary and food safe. Checkout is at 11. Check in as at 3. Staff at the front desk was extremely courteous to me at checkin. I'm probably going to use the app checkout method as I'm a IHG rewards member.. so checkout should be a breeze. Automatic app checkin did not appear available when I checked in so I just did it the old fashioned way at the desk. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It appears that the owner, staff and managers seem to care a great deal about their location and guest satisfaction. Which has lead to this positive review along with many others you will see on this and other review sites. Even though this is clearly an older hotel. The owners have updated and take pride in keeping things clean and fresh. The only negative I'll mention is it might be about time to refresh the mattresses. I had a couple springs on my side of the bed that acted like they wanted to be set free.. lol This user recommends this location. read more

Had a great stay. Rebecca at front desk is awesome. She explained where handicap parking was to make things easier. She suggested local restaurants and also mentioned grub hub delivers from Richmond. The only thing that was hard was the handicap shower has seat in it that swivels. The seat doesn't feel that safe and is tilted to the side. There are lots of bars. Hard to polokeep water in the tub when shower curtain only covers up to seat or else it is hanging out of tub to get around chair. That would be the only reason I would pick another hotel would be for a roll in shower. They do have a dog area that was great with bags. Hotel is really clean and smells like fabric softener through out it. Breakfast bar is terrific. I saw someone complaining no healthy options. First, they have egg white veggie omelets, oat meal, yogurt, 2%milk, fresh fruit ex; apples, oranges and bananas. Whole wheat English muffins and toast, turkey sausage. I would say great options. I loved the biscuits and gravy. My daughter had pancakes, eggs and sausage links. Plenty of juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. read more

I travel for work pretty extensively and appreciate a clean room. The hotel has been renovated in the last couple of years and it shows. The marble tile bath surround looked good and the tub was clean. There was no sign of mildew or mold in the grout. The rest of the room was clean as well. I am not a fan of the thermostat on the wall, because it seems to function warmer than I like, but this one worked well. There must be some motion detector because it was 74 when I got back to my room on day 2 but immediately cooled down. The lobby is small because the hotel is kind of jammed onto the lot, but it had everything it needed. The guest computers need to be updated, but they were functional. It just took me 10 minutes to print something when it should have taken less than 5. read more

Our stay was very pleasant beginning with the ease of making our reservation with the hotel to the choice of checking out either through our TV connection or the front desk. Antonia was very welcoming and gave us a number of dinner choices nearby. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Everything was clean and modern. We appreciated the exercise room after a day of traveling. Breakfast was more than we expected and Mary kept everything well stocked and fresh. We would definitely return! read more

The "cheap" Holiday Inn of the past is no more. My parents are Holiday Inn junkies and I'm finding they pay a pretty penny for their complimentary breakfasts. However, I will say I love knowing that the room will be clean, amenities and rooms are updated, the staff is typically on point and the complimentary breakfast isn't too shabby (shout out for the scrambled eggs with hot sauce and green tea!). This particular location suited us well and was handily located off the highway as we were heading south to Knoxville. For $25 extra you can bring your pet inside. Our particular room was quite spacious with a seating area and two queen beds....ha, about the size of a studio apartment in the city. Easy parking and plenty of grass for those who do bring pets. read more

This is an extremely clean hotel. The bathroom is unusually large. The staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast was fast and easy to go.

Stayed here last night, and while it was awesome to find a clean hotel we could stay at with our dogs, the beds were literally the most uncomfortable ones we had ever slept on. Very hard mattresses that creak every time you move make for very restless sleep. The temperature control also seemed to be a bit off as our room would fluctuate between freezing and very hot. The water pressure in the shower wasn't the greatest but I adjusted the shower head and that helped a little. We stayed in a room facing the highway and the road noise was a bit much, so between that and the uncomfortable beds we definitely didn't wake up feeling rested. I appreciated the cleanliness of our room, the ease of check in and the ability to bring our 4 legged family members. While we will probably not choose this hotel again, I'm sure the things that bothered us can be overlooked by many others. read more

A little pricey but you are getting a clean, well kept room. The beds were uncomfortable and the climate control was flakey, I think it is motioned controlled so at night it does not maintain the temp it is set on, we got warm during the night. The breakfast options were excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It has a nice outdoor area to smoke at which is a nice change. Most places do not have a nice smoking area for its guests. The room was well decorated and the have a nice supply of shampoo, conditioner and body wash, not the little bottles but actual pump style bottles for your use. I will stay here again. read more

Good price, very clean room. Everything worked. Had enough linen. We actually called down to the front desk and asked for an extra blanket and it arrived quickly about 10 minutes later. Breakfast was great on par with continental breakfasts. Even though the hotel was next to interstate 75, we didn't hear a lot of traffic at night. Beds were comfortable and we appreciated the choice between firm and soft pillows. read more

If you are looking for a great place to stay. This is the perfect hotel. Extremely friendly people that are happy with their jobs and happy to help their guests in any way possible. Be sure to visit with Bonnie and Dave while having a great breakfast. For the handicapped elderly this is the place to stay. My mother felt safe in their shower and had plenty of room for her walker. In our travels we have found that this isn't always true for elderly travelers. I have to give a shout out to Jim Richardson for being so nice and very friendly. If you stay here be sure an let him show you the proper way to fold a fitted sheet. Thanks Jim I had the best time visiting with you. What ever they pay you it isn't enough. You need a raise. Can't give it 5 stars because of the thermostat. Must have some kind of auto shut off on the AC. At first I thought it was just us but we had family in another room on another floor with the same problem. Had it set in the morning, went into town & when we got back the room was 78 degrees. No one wants to go out in the heat and come back to a hot ass / stuffy room. That's enough that we will not stay here again. If you can get past that the room was clean and breakfast was good. read more
