On our way to visit family, we decided it was best to get some rest before completing the drive the following day. We booked a room online and checked in just minutes later. Check in was smooth and the room was spotless. The room had a king sized bed, small desk area, decent sized tv, a chair and plenty of outlets with usb ports. The air conditioning got the room nice and cold. The shower had good pressure and got as hot as we would have wanted. The toilet and shower are in a room with a door separate from the vanity/sink area. Coffee maker makes single cups of coffee and uses coffee pod discs (not kcups). Parking is free and the price was less than the other hotels in walking distance. We would happily stay here again if passing through Richmond. read more

Good overnight stay while traveling. My son and I stayed here. It was noisy, but pets are welcome for an extra $40 and we had a dog with us. I slept well after the noise died down. It was hot and the AC worked well (and helped drown some of the hallway noise out). The breakfast was minimal, coffee did the job. The rooms are very very bright. We had a mechanical issue with our car and had to make an unscheduled stop in Richmond on June 3rd. We had to go to the hotel around 10AM from the auto repair shop. Dave at the hotel front desk was fantastic! He allowed us to stay in the lobby until a room was available for early check-in and bent over backwards to make us as comfortable as possible in a bad situation (we loved the 24 hour hot water availability). The next day he allowed us to late checkout while we waited for our car to be repaired and stored our luggage for us while we went next door for lunch. I checked in on Friday afternoon around 2:00 for my two-night stay, and the front desk clerk was very friendly. I asked him to put me in a room he knew to be quiet, and he did. He shared the wireless password and said it was easy to connect. I got to my room, and neither my iPhone nor my iPad would connect to wireless Internet. I walked to the front desk and shared that I was having trouble connecting. Rodney said they weren't having problems down at the front desk and told me he would look into it. (By the way, my phone connected to wireless when I was at the front desk. When I got back to the room, I was unable to connect.) He called me back and said he had walked up to the third floor and still had no problem connecting and insinuated that it must be my devices. He also let me know that no one else in the hotel was having problems connecting to the Internet. He said that I could use the "office" near the front desk. This "office" is a little desk in the lobby where everyone can walk by and see exactly what you're working on. Ultimately, he gave me a support number to call. I called support, she took me through a number of steps, and she determined that multiple access points in the hotel were not working properly. She said she would call the front desk and ask that they reset the access points that weren't working and told me to continue trying through the evening. I was without Internet access all evening and the next morning. Come to find out, my colleagues were also unable to access the Internet in their rooms. I was gone the majority of the day on Saturday. I was able to access wireless without issue in multiple locations. When I returned that night, I still had no Internet access. When I got up this morning to check out, I still had no Internet access. Unacceptable. As for the rest of my stay... The hotel is recently renovated, and it's clean. The air conditioner on the wall in my room was ancient. It rattled every time it came on overnight. The bathroom towels are paper thin, and breakfast is OK. You can hear every word of every conversation in the hallway. The staff is very friendly. Listen, I know the Quality Inn isn't a five star hotel, and you get what you pay for. My big issue is that they did nothing to resolve the Internet issue. It's 2024. read more

We decided last minute to stop after 16 hours of driving and chose the Quality Inn Richmond after reading reviews. It did not disappoint! We checked in late at night and the front desk agent was very welcoming and polite. (I'll update his name if I can remember it!!) This hotel does require a "holding fee" on a card for the room to ensure you don't destroy it. We booked online through a 3rd party site, but the front desk explained this to us and there were also signs posted at the sign in desk. So be sure you're aware of that stipulation. The hotel was fresh and clean - no issues with the room or service. There were signs posted for complimentary breakfast - we will grab something if we don't leave too early. We recently stayed one evening here after a long drive on the interstate. Check in was easy. We needed a simple place to stay the night. Our room was quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was pretty full but it was quiet and we could not hear any of our neighbors. They had a continental breakfast available but we skipped it because we needed to get back on the road early. Several restaurants and shopping centers are very close, which makes this an ideal place to stop. Staff was friendly. There was a fridge and microwave in our room which is nice. read more

Visited the Quality Inn in Richmond Kentucky on 8/16/2019. Have stayed there for the last 15 years, but this visit tops then all !! My room was nice and clean but I noticed that the fan in the restroom was left on when I checked in. I turned it off and went to dinner and returned about 9pm and went to get ready for bed and I smelled a foul odor of urine. The restroom smelled was awful. I took a shower the next morning and was gagging the whole time. At checkout I made the front desk attendant come to my room and witness it !! He apologized - I told him that housekeeping left the fan on for a reason. I'm debating on charging it back on my card !!! read more

Worth every penny. Great location. Staff very friendly. Everything they offer (with exception to perhaps the breakfast) is of good quality, they just do not offer the nicer things you would expect but also usually comes with a larger bill. Quality Inn-Richmond, KY On a thousand mile trip, we needed a place to crash halfway to our destination and protected from the summer swelter. The Quality Inn gave us a chain we knew. Front desk checked us in with smooth efficiency and even made us feel welcome. I know Kentuckians claim the mantle of southern hospitality for themselves, but they sound more like midwesterners than the folks back home in Virginia and NC. Nonetheless, I found them southern friendly without the "sweetie pies" I've come to dread in conversations elsewhere. We stuck with our room with a king and found it small but adequate. No indoor pool for our physical therapy, but the outdoor pool and rudimentary excercise room with bike, treadmill and a weight tower let us burn off calories. The decor was beginning to wear thin around the edges with a prominent tracery of cracks in our room sink. Our room itself offered plenty of plugs but none of the more contemporary USB ports to keep us linked with the world. Externally the building invites you in with that faux white clapboard of home look. Nice fridge but just a bare wall shelf and hangers for clothes. I am not a fan of hotel breakfasts because I figure if you want a particular thing don't look for it "free." Don't expect too much from a stranger's idea of breakfast. The coffee dispensed hot so that was sufficient. Friendly staff was, as always, a plus in a fractious world. I don't even bother with the frozen microwaved eggs anymore and the sausage made an undercooked appearance. The sliced bread came blessedly fresh. For those that could afford the calories, there was always the waffle option. The typical bowl of oranges and apples sat on the counter for a healthful option. Still, I maintain if breakfast is an important meal for you, skip the hotel breakfast for a place that will give you what you want. Clean linens and quiet halls gave us what we basically wanted so we'll probably stay there again. read more

The lobby was quiet, the rate was $15 cheaper than neighboring Holiday Inn. My room was nicely "new" with lots of new features in the shower. The bed was comfortable, the a/c worked well, the breakfast was excellent. This is next to the interstate and a worthy stay. Sadly--when I went to take a shower in the morning, the water would not come out of the showerhead, only the tub faucet--it was not completely "hooked up". I had asked for a room a short distance from the elevator and got one at the end of a long hall so not impressed with the clerk's knowledge or courtesy to a tenant though she led me to believe it would be fine. read more

Booked a room for 2 nights using a special 2 night promo (saved me $5 per night) the next morning found out my mom was in ICU dying and I had to cancel my business trip. I tried to check out after only 1 night and they told me I can't check out early and I won't be getting a refund for the the night I didn't stay. Christopher Long the Operations Manager explains that because I used a promo rate that it "would not be fair to the other customers" to let me stay only one night on the two night rate. So to prevent me from using a $5 discount I don't deserve, they are keeping my $77.28 for the room I never used. I was shocked by their too-bad-not-our-problem attitude. We stay here every time we are doing something around Lexington. It is always clean and quiet. This particular time I was having a procedure done at the hospital the next morning. My wife and I checked in the evening of November 20. I had made my reservation in February, Given a confirmation number and told the price would be $80.00 a night for two nights. The evening I checked in the staff at the desk told me it would be $129.00 a night. I told him the price I was given and my confirmation number, he told me the person who made the reservation no longer worked there and I could not have that price. He even called his manager. They still said no to the lower price. It was Homecoming at my school so I said o.k. We asked for a cot and the front staff were very unaccommodating and rude. We then asked for a blanket. They said that they would bring it to the room. A pig with lipstick on if ever there was one. The place looks classy and nice on the outside but inside is a different story. We opted to stay in a King suite which has a separate bedroom with a door between that and the living area. The first room that we were given had the do not disturb sign still on the door when we got to it and had not be cleaned from the previous tenant. Off we went to the same room one flight up. It was clean but wow the cigarette smell on the entire floor is overwhelming. This was a nonsmoking room but the whole floor reeked. There were no sheets for the sofa bed and when we went to the desk to get them and came back to the room, there was a dead bug on the blanket. On our way out the first morning we told the desk that our bathtub drained slowly and we would like more pillows. Upon our return, the pillows were the only thing that had been attended to. We had no new clean towels and the tub was still dirty from the slow draining dirty water from showers in the morning. Breakfast is not their strong suit and the attendant is a bit too clingy and chatty with the patrons. We had to listen to her life story including her trip to Washington DC which apparently is now in West Virginia. It's obvious from the other reviews that this is a hotel to avoid and they are making no improvements to. I wish I had consulted Yelp before going there. Avoid at all costs! read more

CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS! I wish this was really just the plot of a Lifetime movie, but this really happened. My wife and I have stayed at this hotel approximately 20 nights over the last several years, going back to when it was a Jameson Inn. It has always been clean, conveniently located, and the staff was always friendly. This was our second stay under the Quality Inn banner. Most times we have asked for a late checkout and it has always been granted. This trip, we asked for late checkout and were told 'noon.' We asked if we could stay until 3, and offered to pay for half a day. The clerk just looked at us, not knowing what to do. A member of the Housekeeping staff was there, and she claimed to be the assistant manager, and told us "noon." So my wife called the Customer Service number for Choice hotels, and they said we could stay until 2 for $30. Happy with this compromise, we went about our business. Within about 15 minutes, while getting breakfast, my wife overheard the housekeeper and others (non-employees), that were behind the counter (one was a 10-12 year old girl) mocking her. After we left the hotel, my wife contacted Customer Service again to complain, at which point we were informed that we were charged a smoking fee of $250. An additional charge of $44 was made, and the hotel has not given us a reason. I am not a smoker, and my wife gave it up for Lent. When we complained to the Manager, he said he had called the police to verify the 'marijuana smell' and to collect evidence of drug use (white powdery substance). He also said he had 'video evidence' of us leaving the hotel. This was all done to intimidate us. We called the police the next day, and they indicated that no such call was made. I asked the manager to give me the Officer's name, their badge number, and an Incident number. He said I needed to call the police myself, and gave me a number that didn't work. The Police said that that number had not been active for several years. So this company went through all of this just out of spite. I will never stay at this or any other Quality Inn or Choice Hotels property again. We have opened a dispute with the credit card company. And did I mention the staff smokes? read more

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel/motel. The operations manager Christopher long wouldn't explain why I was seeing two charges on my card. He just kept saying it's not his fault I don't understand how a debit card works and told me to take it up with my bank, he then told me it wasn't his fault that I didn't have money to travel (I have plenty of money to travel). He actually had the audacity to comment on my finances!! I told him I didn't feel comfortable staying here at this point for the way he was talking to me and he literally said "likewise". He also caused me to have a panic attack in his lobby and called my fiancé choice words. I have never been so embarrassed. All because I asked him to explain the charges and told him very nicely that I have anxiety and didn't understand the way he was explaining it. All the things the other reviewers mentioned are true, dirty rooms, bugs, pretty rude staff etc. The main thing that bothers me is the extremely weak Internet. Just checking email is a difficult task. The room was 100 bucks. For that price you can find a WAY better hotel. As a little bonus, the maid wakes you up at 7am by banging on your door and yelling. When I point out the Do Not Disturb sign on the door handle, she sneers and walks away. This is a $29.95 side of the road motel. read more
