The room in the 2nd floor AC controls were through the control unit in the wall. Both rooms had a damp smell and feeling. It smelled old. I couldn't get over it. The gym was smaller than most Hampton Inns I've been in. A colleague on the second floor said she saw bugs in the closet. I saw tiny bugs in the shower. I understand it's a smaller town, there were very few options and this hotel is older. Not many solutions besides renovating the whole thing...

The sitting area was weird in that when you sat on the couch you couldn't really see the TV since they built a half wall to section it off from the bedroom. They also give you free Wi-fi. Too bad the wi-fi is super slow and often would stop working. We also had less than great maid service. They seemed to do the absolute minimum and didn't replenish anything (soaps, coffee, etc...). It worked and it was a nice hotel for Danville, but it wasn't great. It served its purposes.

I did have a little trouble finding the hotel. It's not on the main road, it's set back a few hundred feet, far enough that it's location is not obvious. You have to turn onto this little street that takes you to it. Other than that, the location was convenient to lots of restaurants and things and we enjoyed the pool. The pool was a bit small, and 3 ft deep at one end and 5 feet deep at the other, but it was inside, which was nice. There's towels you can use at the pool so you dont have to bring one from your room. Also, the parking lot was a bit wonky - dont know why its laid out the way it is. Overall though, I would recommend this place and would stay here again.

They also had churros and cream puffs. I thought it was odd that they didn't have non-pork or non-dairy options. They also kept running out of the food. The tables were dirty and the hot chocolate bar look like it had been picked over. I would not go back to the holiday market or other paid events. The vendors had some decent stuff to purchase such as jewelry, baked goods, clothing, Christmas items, and more. This probably should've been a free event.

She said 'FINE, I'LL PAY THE 430 FOR YOU!!' I reminded her that I was willing to pay the $20 as clearly stated. Then she called me 'HON'. Not the nice and charming 'Hon" of the South. It was the snarky 'HON' that says "I'M IN CHARGE HERE!' . . .and you are Not." Then she called an employee from the back to bring her wallet. She opened it like she was going to pay for it. I have no idea if she did or not. I apologized for any misunderstanding and suggested we start over. She said "IT'S DONE!" I thought to myself Y I K E S!....we are going to get a really nasty room . . . and I was right! * We had to keep opening the toilet lid to flush. I finally figured out how to fix it by sticking my hand in the tank and moving the chain to a different location on the arm and reclipping it. Yuck!! Is that my job as your paying guest? * Toilet paper holder is not secured to the wall * The shower head is not fully operational. We know how to use the lever to change the spray. It didn't work. The pipe from the wall looked like it was going to fall on our heads * The hand sanitizer in the lobby does not work These are not remodeling issues. They are maintenance. But first you must care. Fancy chairs in the lobby do not make up for a room with these problems. Pluses: Good mattress and bed linens and decent towels. Yep . . .that's the only plus I can give you. This is supposedly one of the few houses that was not burned when the Confederate army seized it. The house is quite charming if you're into old houses. Our room was fairly nice with maybe a few too many pieces of furniture stuffed in it. You don't really have a private bathroom unless nobody else is staying there. They seem to be improving the place, as they were putting in central air while we were there (I think). The Good: The bed was comfortable, there is free wireless, and the owner/operator is very pleasant. Breakfast was good. The Bad: The grounds needed some tending to. The grass was very over-grown, as were the vines hanging over the front walk-way. Breakfast was about 45 minutes late and we didn't have access to coffee until breakfast was ready (though it was very good). The owner/operators have two young children. They didn't disturb us, though you should know this is sort of a family-friendly establishment. Some of you may like that, and some of you may not. If ever in the middle of Kentucky again, we would consider staying here again.

It was a hot summer in July so I had hoped for a much cooler room. Breakfast wasn't great, so I'm not sure I'd like staying here again for the price. Cheap paper plates kind of says it all to me. There are much better places in the Marriott brand.

The noise from the interstate also flows through the walls too well and can be loud during high travel times.
