With tons of food trucks, local vendors, breweries, and live bluegrass - it was not to be missed. I opted to pick up the beerfest ticket to go with my admission. This installment of Oktobergrass scattered the breweries present throughout the market. I actually liked this more than I anticipated. It made it much easier to meander and browse the vendors; while refilling my commemorative taster glass along the way. Love it! The breweries present included names like: Breckenridge Brewery, 14er Brewing Company, Cerebral Brewing Company, Aspen Brewing Company, and Oscar Blues Brewing - to name a few. The breweries even had a few special tappings for 4 pm! Tons of different vendors were present. Clothes, accessories, pet products, food, and so much more! I had a so much fun browsing the booths. I almost left with some great creative art pieces from Two little Fruits, a succulent, a fanny-pack from B Fresh (it was so retro and awesome), and some clever cozy shirts. I had to dial back my excitement; mostly for my wallets sake. Ha! Some of the best food trucks were present to help satisfy those hungry tummies. I chose to nosh on some tasty eats from Little India. Seriously one of my favorite Indian food trucks! Their chicken tikka masala is the BEST! There were other trucks serving up tacos, hots dogs, arepas, and many more! Live music was provided my Coal Town Reunion during my visit. They were awesome! The space in front of the stage was set up to dance, play some cornhole, giant jenga, or just kick back and take it all in. There was a large bar set up serving various Modelo products or a specialty Moscow Mule made with GB Picketts ginger beer syrups. Seriously amazing. They even have a spicy ginger beer. So good! We hit Yelp and found a place that specializes in glow in the dark stuff. We got there just as the store opened and the owner graciously opened the door for us. The parking lot and the building are both clean and well kept. As we entered the store, the gay pride welcome stickers made us feel at home. Being a same sex couple such welcoming signage is very reassuring to us. This place is glow party nirvana and the owner simply could not have been more pleasant. We spent 45 minutes trying things on and picking stuff out. We ended up buying almost 600 dollars worth of stuff and we are very happy with what we acquired. This store is a gem and will bf our go to store fir such things in the future. They have a wonderful selection and the prices are very reasonable.

What a great day! My husband and I just love local art, and supporting these artists. I hadn't…read moreheard of the Jackalope Arts festival, which apparently appears every year just up the street from me in Olde Arvada. We went out on this sunny and warm October day, glad to enjoy some time outdoors in the sun. We were greeted, as well, with an enjoyable stroll through local venue booths sporting everything from beeswax products to locally mixed spices to jewelry made from local stones (think petrified wood and Marble's marble, among many others). I was drawn to the designs at a T-shirt shop, and when I couldn't find my size in the design I wanted, they assured me that I could email them and they would make it for me and send it along to my home. The jewelry maker at Waystone (mywaystone.com) promised that if I could bring her a piece of petrified wood that I had discovered in my backyard, she would make it into something special to display in my home. While she accepts items through mail, since she is just down I-70 just east of Denver, I mean to bring it right to her. I was excited to visit this arts fair, and came away with some nice items, along with the cards of some artisans to whom I will reach out for some custom items. What a great way to spend a glorious fall day outside!

The indoor portion is mostly music and lights. It's actually really well done. You can push different buttons and witness different light and music themes. I was surprised at how diverse the music was and how many musical choices you could choose. The outdoor version changes over time, but this time I was tracking nine fairies or nymphs, or like creatures, that encouraged harmony and love of nature. I scanned all nine spots and got a free little gift at the end. It's a cool, funky little space. Lots of nooks and crannies. A big papasan swing. Alien like animal sculptures. Plants everywhere. I can't remember what I paid, but it was nominal, and worth the little detour here. It's on Broadway, which parts of Broadway are lively and packed, but this one was a little more dead and vacant. The staff is super nice. The prices in the shop are reasonable for work by independent artists.
