Is this a must see when visiting Denver? No. But it was fun. You almost don't realize you're in the right place until you ask, because the initial entry is a store front (cool stickers, jewelry, queer merch etc). But then you enter the art portion. The indoor portion is mostly music and lights. It's actually really well done. You can push different buttons and witness different light and music themes. I was surprised at how diverse the music was and how many musical choices you could choose. The outdoor version changes over time, but this time I was tracking nine fairies or nymphs, or like creatures, that encouraged harmony and love of nature. I scanned all nine spots and got a free little gift at the end. It's a cool, funky little space. Lots of nooks and crannies. A big papasan swing. Alien like animal sculptures. Plants everywhere. I can't remember what I paid, but it was nominal, and worth the little detour here. It's on Broadway, which parts of Broadway are lively and packed, but this one was a little more dead and vacant. The staff is super nice. The prices in the shop are reasonable for work by independent artists. read more

Spectra Art Space is such a gem in Denver! This women-owned art center is dedicated to giving artists a platform through immersive exhibits, workshops, classes, and music showcases--and it shows in everything they do. Their current installation, Spookadelia: Unspoken, is an all-ages, narrative-driven, and highly interactive art experience that's unlike any other exhibit I've seen. It's part art, part theater, and completely mesmerizing. The mix of colors, textures, lights, and sounds pulled me in from the moment I walked through the door. If you visit on a Friday or Saturday, you'll even get to see some of the Spookadelia characters come to life, walking through the space! It's creative, inspiring, and a total must-see. read more

Such a find for us, right on Broadway in our backyard. It's been here for 9 years and I'm just learning about this wonderful hidden gem of art space. If you like meow wolf you will love this. Very intimate, quiet, immersive and fun. It's street parking, wish wasn't a problem on the Saturday afternoon we went. We spent about a little over an hour going through the space. Loved this spot! We went for Spookadelia. I'm huge on this type of art. You'll have to make your ticket reservations ahead of time online. Everyone was nice and Friendly when we arrived. We were given a nice explanation of the space and what to expect. I thought it was great. It's all outdoors with separate rooms. Totally recommend checking this out. WHAT!! SO COOL. I came here on a double date for the Spookadelia immersive experience, and it was wild. Thank you to my date for finding this! At our scheduled ticket time, we were gathered near the entrance curtain and given instructions and an introduction of the Wakening backstory. It felt like we were about to head into an escape room. The high caliber of art in the space was impressive. My brain definitely does NOT work this way as an artist. Love the clever use of light and music, as well as the "friend" we met as part of our journey. It was quite emotional! Came here on a Saturday night to check out Spookadelia with my husband and we really enjoyed ourselves. It's evident a lot of time and thought went into everything; very fun sensory experience. The shop has a lot of unique and local art as well and they even have a little glass blowing studio. Lots of stuff packed in a small space! I will be coming back to buy gifts for loved ones in the future. Staff was friendly and helpful and I appreciated we were encouraged to come inside to warm up during the experience (part of it is outdoors). Again, a very lovely way to end a date night. read more

Sadie greeted us with so much enthusiasm and welcomed us into the interactive exhibit. She explained the few rules and steps as to how to perceive through the interactive exhibit. The art, the time, the creativity that it took to create this establishment is beyond belief. Definitely very interactive, lots of fun, and enjoyable to do with a group of friends. They also have a little gift store inside full of different artworks from local artists such as stickers, jewelry, and little small artworks. The value of this establishment is very worthwhile. Spectra Art Space is a must visit! There is plenty of free parking on the street. Tickets can be bought on eventbrite. It is an independent art space with a great immersive experience. The galley has art on display that you can purchase. The immersive experience is a journey with a story. Scan the qr codes and you will reveal the answer to the puzzle. The immersive is very well thought out. You can go to each room over and over, and see something new. There are swing sets, and plenty of places to sit and take it all in. There are characters walking around. This is an experience on par with meow wolf. WORTH IT read more
