REVIEW FOR CLAPPS NURSING HOME IN GREENSBORO, NC - JULY 28, 2017…read more I felt obligated to write this review concerning Clapps Nursing Home.....My friend, Beverly and her husband have lived in Greensboro, NC for many decades They are both in their eighties.....In June, she contracted double pneumonia and was rushed to the hospital. She was transferred to this nursing home for therapy before she could return home.....When I learned that she was in a nursing home, my heart just sank....I began calling to check on her and much to my amazement, the nursing home staff was so caring, concerned and willing to help in any way they could...I was pleasantly shocked! Long story short, I have been calling her every day for a month now and every day the staff goes above and beyond the call of duty to help me reach her by phone....Her wonderful son is staying with his father at home and doing whatever he can being the dutiful son he is.....He just bought her a cell phone so that is going to return the staff to other duties I want to thank everyone there at Clapps Nursing home for going above and beyond the call of duty and helping me believe that there is still one Great nursing home left in the nation! Beverly also has only had the best to say of them too! I want to thank Sue, Tina, Shirley, Diane, Tequila, Linzie, Renee, Betty, and Sherrie, for making a really difficult situation a lot less stressful! I appreciate them so very much and I hope you will let everyone that was involved with Beverly know how much you appreciate them! Thank you so much, I will never forget you all!! ADDITIONAL WONDERFUL EMPLOYEES: Dawn & Renee - Physical Therapist; Crystal - Occ. Therapist; Heather and April - Speech Therapist; Betty & Pam - medication nurses and the Nursing Home Dr, Dr. Gates.

Too many things went wrong for me to post. My mom arrived at 2 and no one came to her room until my…read morefifth request almost demanding for someone to come bring a bed pan etc. food was terrible. They didn't even get her meds until after 10 pm and she required insulin at 5:30. I asked for beside toilet and they said they couldn't provide anything until pt accessed her. They finally arrived at 9:30 pm. I ordered a recliner from a rental company and she sat in it for an hour or so. Pt was concerned about her edema and leaking legs and said they didn't treat that there. So she shouldn't have been admitted with these issues and should have remained in the hospital but they forced us to take her to rehab. They went to put her in the bed and there was only one cna not two and she " used the bed to do the work" by lowering the head low so she would slide down. She was begging not to have her head down like that. She had fluid in her lungs and she passed out. Where was unresponsive and they had to call ambulance to take her back to er. We thought we lost her. This incident set her way back from the prices she had made in the hospital before arriving there. She died one week later to the day There is not enough help at this place and unless your loved one is somewhat mobile then our going to be hard for them if they stay there.

The entireties of the staff - from the sales, to skilled nursing, to the dining room servers were welcoming, obliging, and happy (which is not always the case in senior facilities!) The residents we encountered were equally cheerful! My father decided on that 1st visit that "this was the place for him", and fortunately there was an apartment that would be available to him in a week's time. Unfortunately, as is often the case with elderly parents, we experienced a medical "emergency" with my Dad several days before his scheduled move-in. The amazing team at Abbotswood moved mountains to get him in-house, and under their expert Living Well @ Home skilled nursing care...an answer to our prayer as we could not give him the care he needed. The team at Abbotswood is enthusiastic, respectful, responsive and incredibly professional! The grounds are beautiful! The interiors are updated and bright! The restaurants serve wonderful food, and are accommodating for each resident's particular needs! I doubt you will find anything in the Triad that is even close to the gem that Abbotswood is!

I have so much confidence in the Solista Independent Living Community that this is the 2nd time…read morewe've selected them with confidence and peace of mind when searching for a community Living choice for an immediate loved one. I knew from the very first time of meeting with Paige at the Solista High Point, this was the place I wanted my mom to be. Going from a private living environment to a Independent Living community is a scary experience for anyone, but the Solista Staff took her under their wings as they do every tenant and made her feel she was a part of the Solista family for years. Thats what they are at the Solista, one big happy family. The Solista unlike other Senior communities doesn't change their ways acting differently once you've moved in, they continue to grow as a community and the residents there are made to feel important and have a voice. Every time you walk in the front entry, you are greeted by the sweetest smile from Tandra at the front desk, Paige and David are always seen corresponding with the residents and helping out wherever necessary ensuring no one goes without. I won't go into details but I can tell you I have personally witnessed Paige, David, Johnny and the entire crew for that matter going out of there way doing things for the Solista residents that are not a part of their job description to help a resident out in such a way it prevents the residents from going into an emotional crisis and puts the residents at ease. Its the little things that mean the most. The reciprocation from the staff is contagious... The Residents are fantastic at welcoming in new People and looking out for each other's best interest. You know when you take your parent out for a while and their focus is getting back home, it's got to leave you with the fullest confidence knowing they are exactly where they need to be. :-) Full respect and greatest appreciation to all of the Solista staff!
