I, too, am considered elderly…read more When the chips fall, which they will eventually, I would consider myself LUCKY to be the recipient of caregiving at this facility. There are so many wonderful people who work at High Gate! In the Memory Cottage, Amber, who apparently LIVES in the kitchen, is an example of an employee with standards so exemplary that I am continually astonished by her expertise at her job. She over-sees all kitchen activity and participates in everything that happens there. No easy task. It's not common to come by someone with the loyalty, pride and skill in a profession as demanding as Amber's. AND no matter how stressful the moment, this remarkable woman continues to greet my family with a warm and energetic smile. We are so grateful for everything that she does and for all that she is !!!

With any facility there has been some turnover, but overall, I think it was for the best. Residents seem to really enjoy the staff who are currently working here, and it feels like a community. Their structure provides continuous care through independent living, assisted living, and nursing home facilities which makes caring for your loved one easier. As my mother's health deteriorated the Mission Ridge staff worked with me to ensure her needs were meet. She was able to move to a different location on campus. Her friends could still visit her and she was part of the same care family. The staff went above and beyond caring for her. They were like family to her and to me.
