Hole In The Wall Curtains. From the name, you could be forgiven for wondering if Bilbo Baggins used his hoard of troll gold to invest in habidahsery and other homely supplies, after returning home from his adventures. However, it's not a hole, but rather a large and sprawling building on many levels in which you could easily get lost.
As well as selling curtains and fabric for you to make your own (include poles, tassels and tiebacks), they also supply a wide range of materials useful for dressmaking, covering furniture, making cushions and dressing the dog up for those embarrassing photos that end up on Facebook.
In addition, they sell zips, buttons, cottons, light fittings, cushion fillers, and foam; cut to size and in a wide variety of thicknesses. It really is a useful place for those who like to make, and the service is great! They even have a drinks machine in there, so if you're waiting for things to be cut to size, you can get yourself a hot drink. Great on a cold day like today!
There is a car park in the front (if you're not local, head towards the big Asda and you'll find it). Sat Nav could have you driving around the Walsall one-way system like a frustrated rally car driver, before delivering you to a pedestrian zone in which only disabled parking is allowed. This is just one of the entrances to this great little (or not so!) find. There are good directions on their website, and to spice up my day, I didn't bother reading them.
Well worth a visit! read more
