It turned out anything but and had it not been for the dessert it would have scored a one star rating from me. The service here is really poor. The restaurant was more than half empty and plenty of staff on hand. We had to call the waitress over multiple times and they barely checked up on us throughout the evening. They also brought out our mains before the starters and then took it back. I am guessing they heated it up for the next serving. To make matters worse the portions were small and my main was pretty bland and lacking the rich flavors I would expect in a classic French bistro. The oysters were nice but it's not made by the restaurant and served natural. The beef main was rare and the meat was nice but the whole dish lacked flavour and seasoning. I ate it because I was hungry and not because I loved it. The tarte tatin was the best dish of the evening however the alcohol they poured on top was a bit too much. Ok selection of wine but a very small list. They also had almost nothing vegetarian for main and the dish they made for my wife was just potatoes with vegetable that was bland. C'mon guys this is 2019 and not 1970, how can you run a restaurant in a big city with almost nothing vegetarian ? I would not go back here. The staff were interested in cooking for themselves and talking amongst themselves and not taking care of customers. Portions are small and the prices high in comparison. Not at all worth it in my opinion.

The ambience here is excellent and, whilst it was packed, felt cosy and comfortable. The place was full from the time we arrived till past 11pm. It did have a good buzz about it. The food was slightly mixed. The oysters were nice but more like a 3 star for me. We had one oyster on our plate that smelt off and it was shriveled, yet it was on our plate. The steak frites avec pomme frites and sauce bernaise was exquisite and, the best I have had in a long time. The steak was super tender, intense in flavour and the bernaise sauce was amazing. The Creme brûlée was also very good and the vanilla pods were intense and tasty. If it wasn't for the oysters, I would have given it 5 stars. All three of us had a similar experience. The wine list here is small and has a selection from Italy, France, Austria, Germany and a few new world wines mixed in. The prices are a bit rich for what they are. The service as a package was 2 star. Our well dressed waiter was very nice and friendly however, you had to constantly look for him. The gap between courses was also far too long. We waited for an hour or more for our main course. The manager (maybe even the owner) of the place was quite dismissive of us and, I felt he treated us like we did not belong in his establishment. His attitude and arrogance really put me off. The steak alone will probably bring me back here. I might however, find a quieter night to come here. Long wait times were ok on this occasion as the company was terrific but, I would never wait an hour or more between courses. No amount of delicious food can make up for service attitude in my opinion, specially in a reasonably expensive restaurant.

All in all, I had an excuisite dinner here. We came about on a Tuesday and were lucky to book just…read morean hour in advance as the place was otherwise packed that evening. The ambiance of the place was down to eart, yet tres chique in it's own right. This had mostly to do with the staff and restaurant interior and presentation; as well as the visitors of course. The wine list was broad and very tought through, with something in there for each persons taste, regional preference ranging from local house wines to Mouton Rotschild. What I most liked however was the food: deliberate and excuisite, yet not for a moment pretentious. With each bite, you know thought and care had gone into it, without blowing it out of proportion with exotic ingredients. We had a salad and salmon precourse; both of which were abundant in flavour and quick to arrive (stilling our hunger). Afterwards we had the mussels and fries combo, which was, even by Dutch standards, a fantastic meal. All ended well with a grand dessert that featured some French classics that each in their own right, would have earned a visit.

It's average food, expensive for what it is and flavors just were not there. It has lovely interiors, nice ambience and that's where it ends. The food was pretty average I am afraid. The oysters were ok nothing special, the foie gras was claggy and lacked the punch I expect from this classic French dish and the fish dish was too salty. Two of us had the exact same comment, the sauce was far too salty and took away from the dish. The crème brûlée was also average and lacked the rich custard i expect from this classic French dessert. Service was nice but a bit sporadic and we had empty glasses more often that we would have liked. The waiters were nice and friendly but lacked attention to detail. At this level I expect more. I wouldn't rush back here by any means. The wine list here is the best thing with a nice selection of well priced wines. It's a shame as I have been meaning to come here for the last two years and it was disappointing to say the least. I am giving 3 stars for the overall experience but the food here deserves no more than 2 stars.

The presentation of food is good, however bottom line looks better than it tastes. All the warm food came out cold. When I asked to have main re heated they threw the food into a pan with lots of oil so the entire plate including vegetables and gratin was oil, also half the plate returned, most of meat didn't come back to me. They serve the cheapest and disgusting sparking water and charge high price for it. Coffee was also terrible. The wine was undrinkable and I thought their butter was off. The staff do not care. 3 course meal for 4 was 404,00 euros. For this price class, we expected top service and not a junior Waiter who delivered the wrong plates to us, didn't know how to to work a card machine, slow service where starters came after an hour while you sat there for 30 mins without ordering and stone cold food. We would never return.

My first course of oysters naturale was the best oysters to date in Munich. The main course of entrecôte beef with a mustard sauce was cooked to perfection and, full of flavour. The chocolate mousse for dessert made from Valhorna chocolate was amazing and, I tasted the chocolate fondant which was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely divine. Only a minor point but, the service was a little bit slow at times and our excellent hostess made up for it with her patience in explaining the menu and checking up on us regularly. I thought I was in a michelin starred restaurant in Paris for a while ;-)) As it turns out the chef has worked in many well know starred restaurants and this was clearly seen in the food. The flavours were intense and the food was well seasoned. I did not need to add a thing to the meal :-) Glad I went here again, as the experience was phenomenal and I loved it :-) Will most definitely be back here again :-)))
