From swings to slides, to the spinning flower seats, there's plenty to keep the kids entertained for hours. We really enjoyed the sway fun feature of the park. The park is also very accommodating, with covered shelters that are great for relaxing or hosting small gatherings, along with conveniently located restrooms. One of the highlights is the splash pad which is perfect for cooling off on warm days and a big hit for the kids. What really makes this park stand out is the peaceful creek nearby. The sound of the water adds such a calming touch, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a beautiful day outdoors. It's the kind of place you can easily spend a few hours and not want to leave. They have a parking lot making it easy to access.

The padding is ultra soft, to minimize injury when they fall. The swings are designed for all abilities. Nice benches are shaded, so I can rest while I watch them climb. The water park was closed for the season, but looks like fun with various sprinkling contraptions. I'll bring them back this summer. Covered picnic tables and restrooms are nearby so the kids can picnic and use the restrooms. All the facilities are super clean. Trails (suitable for bikes or walking) surround a lovely pond. Natural prairie grasses were attracting many birds. Several beautiful swans were maneuvering around the melted ice. Benches were available for bird watching. An interesting small amphitheater was built into a small hill overlooking the pond. The spot would be a perfect place for a poetry reading or bird watching lecture. Several pavilions are available for family or club picnic gatherings. Plenty of parking for cars or bikes is available. There is no admission fee to use the facilities.

It is a very modern park that is lined with the rubbery surface that most of the new parks are using. It has a half basketball court with an adjustable rim. The court is in great shape and has a bench along the baseline for spectators to sit and watch. You will find a very nice paved walking/jogging trail that goes around the perimeter of the park, as well as trails leading to the park from nearby neighborhoods. The bathroom facility at the park is very well maintained and is one of the better ones that I have seen in a park. They serviced the restrooms and trash while I was there. The park has two picnic shelters with tables under it and one has a couple of grills just outside of it. The playground is awesome. It has top-notch modern equipment. One side of the playground area has a very nice large jungle gym with a couple of slides, one of which is a spiral slide. There is also a bank of swings with traditional and ADA swings, a spinning net sphere, a pull up bar, and an interactive light game. This side is intended for 5 and older, but my 3 year old spent most of his time over here. On the other side is play equipment for smaller kids. There is a bank of toddler swings, a small jungle gym with a tunnel and slides, a couple of see-saws, a modern merry-go-round, and an expression swing. In between both area is some picnic tables and percussion musical instruments. Both play areas have benches on one side of it for parents to sit and on the other side (outer perimeter) are some workout equipment between some more benches, under a nice shade bearing awning. The workout equipment is intended for those over 14 years old. The equipment happens to face the respective playgrounds, so parents can get their workout on while keeping an eye on their littles. On final feature of the park is its green space. There is a patch of grass that can be used for playing catch, soccer, football, or flying a kite. It can also be used for working out or having a picnic. The only downfall of this space is that it is like in like a little crater. So, it gets very soggy after rain and snowfall and takes a while to dry. I really like this park. My littles and I spent about 2 hours here. It is not very big, spanning 5 acres, but still has a lot to do. This is definitely a destination park and was well worth the 40 minute ride for me to get here.

This very historical pool is still gorgeous and the fact they want to tear it down is unsettling. I have just never heard of putting a lazy river in front of a real river, but that's just me. Every time I go here I see somebody I know and it is such a great neighborhood area. It definitely is the best pool in town. The bathrooms need work as well as the concrete area but there's plenty of handicap parking and there is a dog park there as well. There's a nice walk along the river and many many playground activities available. They even have a soccer or rugby area as well as a tennis court. This truly is a jam in the city with White River and all its glory.

It was then converted to an amusement park, the White City Amusement Park, in 1906. The park was opened in 1922 and still maintained some of the amusement park rides. The park has an outdoor pool that is in need of some intensive TLC. It is very raggedy. There are two picnic shelters, one of which is huge. They both have picnic tables under them and grills just outside of them. They have 2 sets of 3 tennis courts complete with benches and are awesome. They are well maintained and one of the park's better amenities. The baseball and multi-use field, not so much. The baseball field has an old backstop and the grounds need some maintenance and landscaping. The field had one goal that was not set up out there. The field was hard and had a lot of divots, aka ankle breakers. There is a nice dog park at the front of the park. It was packed with large dogs. There is a lot of obstacles and grass for the dogs and a shaded place for their owners to sit while the dogs run around. The park is located just off of the White River and has a public boat ramp to launch your watercraft. The ramp is very long and steep. There is also a nice wood viewing platform that overlooks the River. The park has a playground area is lined with wood chips and has 2 jungle gyms with slides and monkey bars. One of the jungle gyms is accesible. There is a set of traditional swings and a set of ADA/toddler swings. The equipment is old and the playground area is far from exciting. There are benches around the playground area to sit and watch the kiddos. There is an area called the Picnic Knoll that is located right outside of the playground area. It is where you will find a bunch of picnic tables placed in the forest. The final amenities I will discuss is the parks neglected walking/jogging/running/bicycling and fitness path. Many of the fitness path signs are damaged and/or unreadable. The trail is mostly a dirt path and dog walking is welcomed. The park has a decent sized parking lot, but a lot of it is being taking up by construction material and equipment. I believe they are currently building a new family center. That is a step in the right direction, because much of this park seems neglected. I was unsure if, outside of the dog park, if it was being maintained. This is a decent conventional nature park, that with a few upgrades and some TLC, could really be awesome. I know the are working to improve the park and cannot wait to see what Fun fact: The park's pool hosted the 1924 and 1952 Olympic swimming tryouts as the Broad Ripple Amusement Park

They do have a glider for wheelchair users, but I don't think the rest of the main equipment would be accessible. Maybe the swings for some. There are a lot of mature trees off to one side and at least one picnic table over there. When the trees bloom for the year, it's going to be beautiful! They have a sand volleyball court, paved walking path, and I spotted a few more sports areas--basketball, soccer. There's potentially a lot to do here! Bathrooms were close to the playground and clean. It's close enough to go grab coffee or ice cream after as well, which in my opinion, makes it great for a day of fun. It's a 13-acre park smack dab in the middle of the SoBro area. This is a definite residential park with parking that's pretty interesting - it's essentially around the perimeter of the park. This is a very wooded park. It's actually a pretty heavily utilized park and there's very few times that I drive by here that I don't actually see people at the park. This park was purchased by the City of Indianapolis in 1928 (Fun fact: Original price was $19,915). It resulted from a desire for a park in the area east of what's known as Meridian Kessler. Early development came from such projects as the New Deal jobs programs and the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s. Arsenal Park offers a variety of activities including basketball courts, a bicycle polo course, a multipurpose field, a splash pad, playground, a shelter and a comfort station. Arsenal Park was purchased by the City of Indianapolis in 1928 following community interest in establishing a park in the area east of the Meridian Kessler neighborhood. Much of the early development of the 11-acre park was done through New Deal jobs programs like the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s. This park offers basketball courts, a bicycle polo course, a community garden, a multipurpose field, a splash pad, playground equipment, a shelter, and a comfort station. This seems to be a park that's always under some sort of development. There's a current master plan for the park and it's a beautiful setting that I don't feel like has ever lived up to its potential. Another fun fact: It's called Arsenal Park because it used to be on Arsenal Avenue (which became Indianola). At one point, it was also called Haverford Park. If you pay attention to this area, there's a Haverford baseball complex down the street. I tend to agree with most of the reviews here. I love this park. It's also great for those who geocache - there's more than one geocache in this park. It's not the most wheelchair friendly park and there's really not a walking path here. However, the playground is fairly accessible. Overall, this is a solid 4-star park that could easily be developed into a 5-star park with some love, attention, and vision. I typically do feel safe in this park, though the bike area can get a bit congested. It's surrounded by houses and pretty open concept.

It sits on what use to be old tennis courts. It looks like it was put together using items that were found laying around. It has rails, ramps, stairs and other pieces that I do not know the name of. It may be makeshift, but it works. There were people shredding (is that still the word) when I was there. It will do for those wanting to just throw up a few shots. The court could use a fresh coat of paint though. Of course the park has a playground. It is on a bed of wood chips and consists of a few pieces of older traditional equipment. It is not a very big area. It has preety much everything you would want in a kids park. The park is actually in 2 parts, one in the front of the school and the other and much larger part in the back of the school. The park is named after a community leader, Dr Marvin Sandorf, who tirelessly served the community. The playground is very well maintained and has some top notch exotic equipment. They have you basic playground equipment and some stuff that I have never seen before. There is also a covered pavilion with picnic tables and a couple of grills. They have two very nice full basketball courts, one of which doubles as a field hockey rink pickleball court and other activities. It is touted as the state's very first Multi Use Game Area (MUGA) court. Both courts are some of the best I have ever seen. There is of course swings, slides, a merry go round, a xylophone, and two large jungle gym structures. I did see a water fountain out there, but there are not any restrooms. Of course there are benches throughout the park to sit on and relax. The playground is lined with artificial turf and that rubber surface that most new playgrounds are putting down on the floor. The park has a private parking lot for visitors and a huge green field to play football, soccer, frisbee or just throw the ball around. There is even a small bike/skateboard track next to the ball courts. It is very small and looks like an accident waiting t happen. My main issue with the playground is that due to the proximity to the school they have commandeered it. When I was there half the school was playing out there. They also had some classes eating lunch out there under the pavilion. It was packed. I like this park a lot, but the fact that the school has taken over the public park played into my rating (I was teetering between a 3 and 4, but decided to go with the 4). It is very hard to enjoy the park and all that it has to offer with over 50 kids running around. I almost felt like I was trespassing. I recommend going to this park when school is out. You and your little ones will enjoy the park much better and I am sure you will have a lot of fun.

The park also has basketball courts, a track for skateboarding and riding bikes, a multi-purpose greenspace (open field) for soccer, and lots of picnic tables all around the playground. One thing that I didn't see was restrooms. I'm hoping they get some of those in there at some point! Sandorf Park is located behind Frederick Douglass IPS School 19. There is a different playground in front of the elementary school itself, but I'm not sure if it's available to the public (although I didn't see any signs that stated anything to the contrary).

This park has about 3 picnic shelters with picnic tables under it and grills right outside of it. There is a decent full court basketball court there. It is in pretty good shape. The park also features a pretty nice splash pad, however, it was closed for the season during my visit. It has a bunch of colorful spray structures and benches along the fence that parents can sit on and watch their kids splash around. The playground is lined with wood chips and has more of your traditional equipment. The equipment is in excellent shape and includes a small jungle gym, rock climbing walls, monkey bars, a bank of swings with a couple of traditional swings, toddler swings and ADA swings, a small jungle gym with slides, and a set of pebble path pods. The play ground is fenced in to keep the little ones from running off and has benches along the inside perimeter of the fence to sit. The bathroom facility is right between the splash pad and playground area. It is nice as far as bathrooms goes and is connected to a picnic shelter on the side and has an uncovered patio area with picnic tables in front of it. Your will see green space for days here. A large portion of which is lighted. It is well maintained and is multi-purpose. It can be used for most any outdoor activity including a picnic, football, soccer, playing catch, field hockey, or flying a kite. Right behind the green space is a monster hill. I saw people using it to work out while I was there, more power to them. It would make for some awesome sledding after a snow. Near the front of the park is a skate park. It is small but nice. No bike allowed, only boards. They have a small maze like fence that is made to try to prevent people from bringing bike in. Some of the stuff in the park includes a pool, stairs, rails, ramps, and other stuff that I have no idea what they are. The walking trail here is a 1 mile loop and is one of the better trails that I have been on. It is well maintained and can be used for running, jogging or walking the dog. It goes around the park's green space and hill. This is a very nice Zionsville Park. It checks all the boxes of what you would want in a park. I like this park a lot. It is well maintained and has top notch amenities. You could easily spend a day to a half of a day here.
