This is such a lovely space with so many things to offer. I've visited the park before to board the Nickelplate Express. You will also find an aquatics center, picnic areas, playgrounds, a merry-go-round, Tom Thumb mini golf, a disc golf course and tons of wide-open green space. It is adjacent to a golf course, as well. On this day, we were going to visit the pool area but found that the majority of pool chairs had already been claimed, so we opted for a picnic instead. We stopped by the nearby KFC and grabbed some chicken and sides. I keep folding chairs and blankets in the trunk of my car for just this sort of occasion, so we laid out a couple of blankets and enjoyed some fresh air, vitamin D directly from the sun, and literally touched grass. It was nostalgic, calming and peaceful. There were several other groups of people present. There were parents with young children on the playground. There was a group hosting a baby shower underneath one of the picnic shelters. There were several young ladies and women enjoying the swings. There was a group of teenagers/young adults listening to music and tossing a ball around. We also observed several young men enjoying the skate park (I forgot to mention the skate park earlier) and riding e-bikes and bicycles around the park as well. There were several barbecues/cookouts taking place as well. There is, indeed, something for everyone to do and enjoy here. I was happy to see such a mix of people of all ages, ethnicities, and sexes present to enjoy this beautiful space. read more

Park has everything you could want and more. Great pool, several kids play grounds with many super up to date with many options. Train section for kids who like trains. Corn hole. 18 hole putt put for 3 bucks a person can't beat!! Volleyball courts. And probably many more things I didn't see. read more

I recently discovered this park and was blown away by all it has to offer. There are so many activities/sports to engage in and many activities for kids and adults. The park is well maintained which also makes it great for a picnic. I can't wait to rerun. I only wish there were more walking trails. I think they're there but were maybe under construction when I visited. read more

I was super impressed with Forest Park. There is certainly something for everyone at the park. Tennis and pickle ball courts. A skate park and a playground. Putt putt course for $3 a person. Great for date night or a little family fun. Carousel rides for only $2. Sand volleyball courts, horse shoes, corn hole and basketball court. Don't worry if you forgot your equipment for all these fun games you can rent the items. There is a building where you can rent equipment, pay for putt putt and some concessions. I highly recommend this park. Great to check out on the weekends and looking for some family fun. read more

Amazing park! There are so many neat features here that I don't know where to start, so I guess I'll start with the carousel! Yes, there is a carousel in this park. (I've been calling it a merry-go-round, but everyone I spoke to here called it a carousel; I've been so wrong for so long.) A ride on the carousel costs $2 per child, and adults ride free with a kid. Adults can't ride on the actual horses -- they are relegated to the stationary seats or standing by the child. There is also a miniature golf course, which we didn't play this visit. It's very small and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of, say, Pirates Cove in Indy, but what the heck: it's a putt-putt course in a park! We should just be happy it exists, because it does. There are two different playgrounds a short walk from each other: one playground for bigger kids with a tall twisty slide, rope merry-go-round, a gong-looking swing and climbing wall. The other playground, which is near the carousel and mini golf course, is designed for younger kids, and has swings, jungle gyms, and even these rad excavator digging toys that you sit on and use to excavate and dig. There is lots of sand here, too, so bring your shovels and buckets. We stayed close to the playgrounds this trip, but Forest Park is huge and there were other interesting things we didn't see, like the Indiana Transportation Museum, the water park and swimming pools, and the copious trails throughout the park. read more

Great park! My friend and I tried to find a park to meet up to walk our dogs and Forest park was right in between us! Nice and spread out, lots of trails, lots of different things to do and easy to park. I'm pretty sure we only made a small dent in the park walking but it's a nice get away from the city. read more

This park is a whopping 150 acres and it's filled with so many amenities that I'm not sure I still saw them all. Located between the Transportation Museum and a 9-hole golf course, the park is heavily wooded. Some of the amenities I saw were a skate park, multiple playgrounds and shelters, horse shoes, corn hole, bocce, basketball, baseball, and volleyball. There are some activities that charge if you are interested: A bike sharing program, a carousel, and mini golf course. They are seasonal, but looked to be maintained well. My only negative for the park is that it has poor drainage around the playgrounds and activities that require visitors to walk around on the grass. The day after rains, there were puddles of water that made walking around challenging and playing some of the games out of the question. Review #757 read more

An absolute gem!! The only thing I'm disappointed in is that I didn't discover this park sooner! My son invited me to watch him skateboard this past weekend and I expected a skatepark ONLY. Not only did it have an amazing skatepark, it also has: tennis courts, golf course, a merry go round like an old 80's movie, a playground, bike rental and concession stands. There's another side I didn't get to visit yet. But what I absolutely LOVED the most was the mature trees, lots of green space and shelter areas. There was a walkable trail that I followed over to a bridge overlooking the Morse Lake (I believe). I said to myself, this would be a beautiful place to take photos and within in the hour several families began to arrive to take family photos in front of the beautiful backdrop. I literally could not believe this amazing park has been in my backyard all of these years. It boast over 150 acres of greenery and family fun. read more

When you have a 'lil guy a park is always a necessity to burn off some energy and be outside. I'm new to the area and my wife discovered this amazing gem on Yelp. Thanks fellow Yelpstas for throwing it out there in Yelp World. Several play areas with the standard slides, swings, climbing wall and rope towers are located within the grounds. The biggest and coolest score was to discover a carousel in the middle of the park with the sounds of an 'ole fashioned pipe organ. And.. It got better with a miniature golf course directly behind the carousel. We "put-putted" 18 holes and peddled over to the train museum. Yeah- there was a train museum! A couple of shelters are available for gatherings and an expanse of space for bike riding and hiking. I only wish I lived closer. read more

I have been taking my kids to Forest Park for about 10 years, as my oldest will be 11 in January. I never even knew this awesome park existed until my children's great grandparents introduced it to me in 2007. They would pick me and my daughter up when she was about 6 months old and we would swing and ride the carousel nearly every weekend....this was back when the carousel was $1 for the kids and caregivers rode free. I often met my friends and we would push our strollers on all the paths and talk about being a new mom... In 2009, I had my 2nd baby and when he was about 4 days old I took my daughter to Forest Park because she definitely needed some one on one mom time. Forest Park was and is the perfect park to spend time with your family. I have rented a shelter for a birthday party as well. Make sure you get a shelter close to the playground equipment. I didn't think about that, but we still had a really fun time grilling!!!! The golf course is pretty nice too, according to my boyfriend. Not his favorite in the area, but definitely one worth going to. The pool is so much fun! It gets super crowded, so try and go first thing in the morning. Forest Park offers a ton of classes and camps too...art, animals, sports. We haven't gone to any, but I have heard wonderful things about both the classes and camps. In 2014 and 2016 I had my 3rd and 4th kids...we still go to FP at least once every couple of weeks. My oldest says she is sorta "bored" with Forest Park after about 20-30 minutes, but my 1, 3, and 8 year old LOVE to go. I do think more swings are needed and maybe some swing set like equipment. There is also a skateboard park, which we haven't used but looks fun if skateboarding is your thing. My favorite part of the park is a section called Angel of Hope garden, a memorial for parents and families to remember children who have died. It's beautiful. We are so lucky to have such an amazing park, just steps from historic downtown Noblesville! read more

I have been out and about exploring the parks of the north side this year. Since having Max, it's important now to find places to hang out that are child-friendly and inexpensive. Every Thursday, Forest Park hosts a free music event. We went last week with another couple and their children and it was PACKED, but in a good way! So many families out to enjoy a nice evening on the lawn watching live music. They had a full stage set up, a bounce house with people working it for the older children, a concession area and plenty of grass to pull up a stroller or lay out a blanket for a relaxing night as the sun went down. It was the most fun we have had in a long time. We brought wine, beer and fried chicken and had a wonderful time! I highly recommend to couples, families and friends looking for something mellow, unique and free on the north side :). Downsides: Not as much parking as they need for this kind of event, but otherwise is fine. Pretty far north...almost to Cicero. Upsides: Very large park, lots of things for children, right on a beautiful golf course, easy to find. read more

I love this park! I love walking here anytime of the day. There are so many walking trails that begin here and a lot of the paths are shaded by trees which is great on hot sunny days. You can rent the shelters and buildings for events and parties - the prices seem pretty reasonable. There's the train museum inside the park with train rides throughout the year. I love the carousel in the center of the park. It's an old restored carousel with beautiful artwork on it. I think my son enjoys watching it go around from the sidelines more than he does riding it. The park has many playgrounds for all ages, sand volleyball courts, a skate park and the aquatics center is right next door. There's also a pretty nice golf course inside the park. There are movies and concerts in the park but I have not made it to one of those yet this year. read more
