    Bar

Hog's Head Pub: Although I've never been a fan of the Harry Potter (HP) films, the books have captured my imagination since I was a kid. Since the first mention of butterbeer nearly 27 years ago in "Prisoner of Azkaban" (1999) I've dreamt of chugging my own mug of the magical drink. In the HP universe, butterbeer was served cold in bottles as well as hot in "foaming tankards". In both the fictional universe and at Universal Studios Florida, the drink can be purchased at the Three Broomsticks, the Hog's Head Pub, and the Leaky Cauldron. I ordered my brew from the Hog's Head as I thought the bar area with the mounted hog's head would make for a nice photo op. It wasn't a long wait in line, and the bar tender was friendly (and yes, it did make for some nice pictures). The fictional drink's recipe contains a slight amount of alcohol that humans could tolerate without becoming drunk, but that was powerful enough to intoxicate a house elf. Sadly, for those above 21 (and luckily for those under), Universal's recipe does not contain any alcohol. For my first ever tasting, I went with the chilled version (hot and frozen are also available). To my delight, this was much more than a butterscotch flavored soda. In fact, it's not fizzy, so soda is a poor comparison. Texturally, it's also slightly thicker than a standard liquid and is incredibly creamy. That cream is what astounded me most as it did not immediately vanish but remained for the entirety of my consumption (which was a good 25-30 minutes). Butterbeer's flavor profile is comprised of butterscotch with hints of shortbread. The drink is sweet, but not to the point of being sickly. Honestly, I planned on buying it once for the picture opportunities and figured it would be a one and done. It cast such a spell over me though that I plan on continuing to purchase it on all my future visits. Biggest surprise of my visit in terms of food expectations. HP would say it's brilliant, but I'll say this exceptional brew is Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews

    Pumpkin Juice

We stopped in not long before the park was closing to get the pumpkin juice we had been craving all day! We were so happy they were still serving drinks so close to closing time and that it was not busy at all. Kayla was so NICE!!! Best team member there!!! The pumpkin Juice tasted like autumn in a cup. Like if you were to bottle the perfect crisp autumn day spent pumpkin picking with your besties, THIS is what that would taste like. The theming and the bar itself are pretty cool too. Love how there is an actual audio animatronic hogs head above the bar.

We stopped at Hog's Head during our trip to Universal Islands of Adventure. The food was not particularly great, at least for what we ordered. We ordered a salad and some beef pasties. None of which was worth the price. It was rather loud inside but that's to be expected at a place like this. The service was nothing special either. They have a counter you order your food at, and you bring it to your table. The best part about this place is just the general experience of going, as it feels like it's pulled right out of the films. If you are a big fan of Harry Potter I'd say the experience alone would be worth it. I like Harry Potter but I wouldn't describe myself as a huge fan of the series. That being said if you are a fan it's worth checking out but the food wasn't that good and that's with lowered expectations to begin with.

$19.17 Hog's Tea - (Long Island) - You will get drunk - Tons of alcohol

If you want to get wasted drunk, order the $19.17 Hog's Tea. It's basically a Long Island: Vodka Gin Rum Tequila Mixed with sour mix & raspberry iced tea I asked for mine unsweetened so it didn't just taste like sugar. The drink is alright, but the bartender doesn't skimp on alcohol. I also had a $13.85 Black & Tan (Dark Forest Ale with Guinness on top). This was exactly what I thought it would be. Super quick service. They also serve butterbeer here.

One Pumpkin Fizz and two Butterbeers. $25 plus $4 tip at Hog's Head at Hogsmeade at Universal's Islands of Adventure.

We loved the Butterbeer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. Hog's Head is one of the places you can get it. This is a bar located in the village of Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure. It's connected to the restaurant Three Broomsticks. According to the Harry Potter Wiki, "[t]he Hog's Head Inn was a slightly disreputable inn and pub in the all-wizarding village of Hogsmeade. It was located one or two streets off of the High Street, the Hog's Head Inn was a fixture of Hogsmeade for several years. The Inn was owned and operated by Aberforth Dumbledore in the 1990s." https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Hog%27s_Head_Inn Just like many aspects of the Wizarding World, the people who recreated Hog's Head in Orlando did a nice job with its design and keeping it true to canon. A lot of people asked me, "What does Butterbeer taste like?" The menus at Universal describe it as "a non-alcoholic sweet drink reminiscent of shortbread and butterscotch, served in a souvenir cup." I agree with that description and would add that, to me, drinking a Butterbeer is like drinking an extra-sweet and rich cream soda with a thick, creamy top. It's unique and delicious. I ended up having two regular Butterbeers and one Hot Butterbeer in one afternoon. Admittedly, I was sick of Butterbeer by the end of the third one. However, as I write this review, I'm craving more. My wife and I prefer the regular, cold, iced Butterbeer over the hot Butterbeer. While my wife didn't like the hot Butterbeer at all, I liked it, just not as much as the cold version. The hot version isn't carbonated, but it still has the same sweet, yummy flavor and rich, creamy texture. It's similar to other hot creamy beverages. There's also a third version, which is frozen. We paid $25 plus $4 tip, $29 total, for two regular Butterbeers ($8.99 each) and one Pumpkin Fizz ($5.49) at Hog's Head. That total price includes Orlando's 6.5% sales tax rate. We charged it to our room at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando, which had a $100 Universal theme park credit (eligible in-park purchases only; a benefit of the American Express Platinum Card). Surprisingly, we weren't able to use all of our credit in one day. I guess we should have had more Butterbeer. The Pumpkin Fizz is tasty too. It's another cold carbonated beverage, a refreshing pumpkin soda. It's sweet, but not too sweet and not as sweet as Butterbeer. It's also not as thick as Butterbeer. My wife described it as a cross between apple cider and pumpkin puree, with carbonation. Earlier in the day, she had Pumpkin Juice ($5.49) from Three Broomsticks. I didn't try it. She said it tasted exactly like the Pumpkin Fizz, but without bubbles. The service at Hog's Head was great. One of our friends is lactose intolerant. She asked for non-dairy Butterbeer. Non-dairy Butterbeer is an option across the Wizarding World. However, when it was our turn to order, we found out from the bartender that the non-dairy version could only be purchased on the other side of the tavern at Three Broomsticks. Not wanting to get into another line at Three Broomsticks, our friend took some Lactaid and dealt with it. The bartender was very considerate of our friend's digestive condition, even though he couldn't do anything about it. Like everything at Universal, the theming at Hog's Head was fun. It did feel like I was inside a "slightly disreputable" British pub. The hog's head hanging over the bar moves and makes noises.

    Great feast

It's good if you got 4 people 4 the great feast especially when splitting food came out hot and came in 5 mins before close and they still made it great

I'm giving this place a 3 because the theming is so good!!! But the food is just not. The beef pasties are pretty good, just a bit salty. But everything else was the quality of 1990's hospital food. The soup was a standout horror for me. It was supposedly potato and leek, which if made even typically is amazing. But this was nothing more that barely flavored water. It was just awful. I added so much salt and pepper to it to make it taste like anything because I was starving. The lemonade is definitely not lemonade, it's neon green chemicals. Don't order that! The iced tea was Nestea so that was fine. The "roasted" vegetables were actually steamed, mushy and flavorless as well. Maybe the other food is good? I really don't know? How can you mess up these basic things so badly? The service was cafeteria style. Universal, Disney still has one thing on you guys, service! Please fix yours across everything you own!

Delicious food and satisfied family of 3! Cute little pub feeling! As loud as a small quiet pub might be like. We had a shepherds pie thing, potato pie and fish & chips were small. Delicious regardless!! Kyle was epic! He was attentive to what was needed and after someone else was totally rude about getting water he was gracious and gave us water. It's water. He made it a priority! I tried to tip him and maria and they don't accept tips. but also good to know they get paid enough not to! We will dine again the next time we make it to Hogsmeade!

The themeing of this pub at Universal is so cool. It really makes you feel like you are in Harry Potter. They have drinks that we've read about in the books and seen in the movie. We decided on a couple beers that are exclusive to Universal and they were great. The staff in this area are wonderful. They worked the line quickly and with enthusiasm.

Stopped by Hog's Head for a quick drink, and the margaritas were absolutely shakin' and delicious! Huge shoutout to Robert for the excellent service. A perfect spot for a refreshing break in the park.

A nice little Harry Potter bar. The drinks are expensive, but hey this place is designed to scam you. The taste are good and the souvenir mugs are great! Come here, relax and drink.

    Frozen Butter Beer
    Joee L.

So I wanted this ButterBeer that everyone keeps talking about but the lines were outrageous. I stumbled into Hogs Head Pub and saw a line one person deep with what looked like interesting beers. I walked closer and realized they had Butter Beer. A women in line told me they had frozen Butter Beer and recommended that. Not even two minutes later I was walking away with a frozen Butter Beer in a nice air conditioned spot. The bar tender was also nice enough to point me in the direction of a table near an outlet so I could charge my phone (the outlets are painted the same color as the wall so they are hard to spot). The Butter Beer was soooooooo good. If you want to grab one or another Harry Potter inspired adult beverage and sit down and relax, this is a GREAT spot.

Hot butter beer- Comforting, sweet, delicious

LOCATION: Adjacent (and connected) to Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade. ORDERING: Drinks only. Stand in line at the bar. Minimal seats available in the immediate area. DRINK: The group before me ordered hot butterbeer, so I decided to do the same. The hot version of the famous drink was amazing. It was sweet, but not overly so (disclosure: I love sweet things, so it may be a bit sweet for others). The drink tasted like smooth butterscotch and was creamy and frothy like a latte. The cold and frozen versions are the more popular versions of the drink, but I would be hesitant to try it after having this hot butterbeer (at least on a cold day like it was). SERVICE: Excellent. There was always a line, but it always moved at a steady pace. The server was spunky, friendly and efficient. OVERALL: You do have the option of ordering butterbeer and other drinks from the Three Broomsticks, but if you're solely desiring drinks, Hog's Head Pub is a good option.

And here we see the head of a hog.

The attendee of the store was a man of very little but necessary words a'la Joe Friday; just the facts he'd answer to any question. No elaboration whatsoever but effective. He also gave the impression from his stoic yet kind demeanor that he walks tall and carries a big stick behind that counter. He was quite relaxed given the ridiculousness I witnessed during my time there; more than I would be. But he seemed like he would put any foolishness to an immediate halt. The selections were merched like most: top shelf to rock gut in ascending order. The store was spacious and easy to navigate. There were some non spirit themed items for sale since it does cater to locals and tourists. There were some kitschy souvenirs and political items that mostly had a Trump theme. The prices were what I expected: inflated!
