Creekside Grill - This was supposed to be prime rib. Probably best to stick to burgers.

The Bourbon Bacon Pecan Salmon was pretty good. And the cocktail was tasty too. The desserts were…read moreto DIE for. The reason my star rating is so low is because the service was LOUSY. Our waitress had the enthusiasm of a rock, and had to be asked repeatedly for simple things like WATER and napkins. Then she messed up our checks. And didn't even thanks us for catching her errors (I assume she would've had to make up the difference?) Another thing is they've got seating out on the patio, but the sun would COOK you! They need to figure out how to use the space! The prices were reasonable. It was just reeeeally lacking in the service arena!

First off, the staff are lovely and so accommodating. Second-the outside patio and views-wow-just can't be beat! I very much enjoyed their Ozark salad and for dinner we split their vegetarian pizzas. For breakfast they had fruit, oatmeal and toast options well packaged to go and they even offer box lunches for days on the river. Be sure to order those at least a day in advance and they'll be ready for you to pick up before your river excursions the next day. Really fresh ingredients and fair prices for a restaurant attached to a state park lodge. We were well taken care of here and enjoyed all our meals at Creekside Grill. Sorry there are no food pics-we were busy chatting away so I only snapped shots of the exterior.

Ordered breakfast items. They were out of hashbrowns but offered to create a similar item with…read morecubed potatoes for my wife. It was an acceptable substitute. My "over medium" eggs weren't, still having raw egg white running in them. I didn't complain, as I can eat most anything, but I later learned that they had only recently opened so I probably should have said something as the cook was probably new, as well. Our waitress, Henrietta, was great! Friendly and welcoming, and she served us quickly. The foot came quick and was served hot. Henrietta had some difficulty checking us out, primarily due to the aforementioned food item that they created (it was not a regular menu item). She needed to ask for help and that woman (manager or owner, I'm guessing) could have been a bit more tactful. It was apparent that she was frustrated by Henrietta not yet understanding the modern computer/register, but she shouldn't have schooled her the way she did in front of customers. "I've showed this to you before", and "You can't let the customer see that you're having trouble", were just two of the things that I remember. It was a bit of poetic justice when, near the end of the transaction, this woman hit the wrong key and had to void the transaction and start the whole thing over. :) Anyway, they're new and trying to get a business going in a very old (historic) building and I hope they make it. I'd give them another shot, for sure, but I hope they keep Henrietta around!
