first time i went there a year ago, this younger guy behind the counter was incredibly disrespectful, gave this place a 2nd chance with the drive through, and it was even worse, and the cherry on top, the food is awful, meat is dry with no flavor, drink options are also terrible like why do we have 2 kinds of lemonade but no pib. I came here about 1pm because the reviews i read at supper time is not as good.. and i can understand why when they close at 8pm you don't get the fresh bbq but rather the bbq that was on warmers.. i order the 3 meat meal, ribs, pulled pork and hot links.. The sides i got were mac&chess and coleslaw. The sides were ok, nothing great but was good.. the ribs and pulled was good.. the hot links.. well i have to explain what i like in spicy.. i like things spicy were i can eat as much as i want without drinking a gallon of milk to cool the spice.. the hot links was right to my point.. any spicer i would have not like it as much.. i would say this is the spiciest hot links that i have eaten. Ordered the food delivery tonight. This Wes some excellent BBQ. The pulled pork was fantastic, excellent flavor and texture. And the ribs were outstanding. Four bones of extra meaty ribs was exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately the sides were a touch lackluster. Not a lot of flavor to the mac and cheese and the cobbler had only tiny pieces of crust. Came down for a car show and stumbled pond this place and apparently it's a local food chain pretty easy to order item menus, and the brisket hot links sandwich I had was really really good and some of the side dishes were OK depending on your taste%. I came with my buddy we were here with a local car show and so eight of us were at one table and six were at the other table. The place closed today. We got there before seven and shut the place down and a manager had to come over at closing time and asked if everything was OK and basically Herter nicely kick us out, but the food was very good and it was clean and had self-service drinks and the locals knew we didn't belong lol. So, to start with I'm normally against commercial BBQ. That said I haven't been able to have my own smoker for a few years and was craving BBQ so I ordered from Hog Wild. This was a mistake because I keep going back. They are always fast which is nice. Their pulled pork, and links are great, sandwiches are great and I have fallen in love with their loaded taters. Something about a baked potato with all the trimmings topped with pulled pork just makes me happy. So, I'm still not a huge fan of commercial BBQ but this is definitely a good substitute if you can't do it yourself. read more

A solid platter of barbecue this evening for dinner, Hog Wild has a good reputation and it's deserved. Not fancy (most barbecue places are not) but it is clean and it smells like 'cue. I chose a three meat platter and got a very decent serving for the price. Served on paper/plastic, which is perfectly okay with me. Two ribs were delicious and meaty. Flavorful and moist. The turkey was good and came with the barbecue sauce on it. Also tasty and it did not need the sauce. The chopped brisket was good and mixed with sauce. I think this one needed it as it was otherwise a little dry. My sides were cole slaw (creamy and crisp) and green beans (mixed with bacon, a little over done). Service was good and fast. I drive an hour from where I live to get celiac safe bbq that's amazing!! Ribs, brisket, hot links, pulled pork all amazing they have a GF menu and the person at the counters lets the workers in the back know to change gloves! Only got sick once when I got the GF bread probably because they toasted it the same place the toast regular bread. Other than that haven't gotten sick all the other times I went. Not an amazing bbq joint, but definitely satisfies a person that lives in a bbq-deprived area. The ribs were decent and tender. Since I had Oklahoma Joe's (in KC) the day before, I was a little spoiled. So I was a little underwhelmed by the flavor. The baked beans were a little too sweet for me, but the spicy sausage compensated for that. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and warm. Prices are decent and the restaurant is pretty clean. I used to listen to a radio station out of Topeka, so I always had the jingle for this place in my head. We were headed out of town and wanted to grab some lunch first, so stopped by here. We were pretty undecided about what to order. The guy taking our order deserves a metal for putting up with our indecision and questions. He never lost his smile. You've got to try the watermelon iced tea. It is super sweet, so be prepared, but it is yummy and instantly addictive. We had burnt ends sandwich and a smoke stack which was brisket and hot links. The hot links are hot, but not as hot as some I've had. It's a comfortable heat, if you are used to hot stuff. Their sauces were good, of course I preferred the hot sauce. The potato salad side seemed store bought. Not bad or anything, just the same stuff we buy for home. It was a clean place, and definitely gets busy at the lunch hour, so if you can make it there a little before noon you'd beat the crowd. read more
