Lunch & Dinner menu, July 2024

Legit divey diner with ~~flies~~ Including legit ~~fries~~ Make that even better tots. And not far enough away from Idaho so you can still get a decent fry sauce as a table standard. My Breakfast Burger "Melt" special ($11.50) was a very sparse on melty cheese-- only one American slice-- but otherwise stacked with a decent burger patty, sausage patty, and fried egg. Some breakfast gravy would've rescued the dryness, but fry sauce helped in the pinch. Veggie Omelette ($12.75) wasn't quite a hit with its undercooked onions and peppers, and undisclosed black olives. Nor quite was the Mushroom Swiss ($12.50) served a touch scant on filling on a pub roll with not enough melted cheese. Maybe a hidden blessing for my wife given the fake white American cheese "Swiss". But real sautéed mushrooms covered some of the sin. Monte Cristo ($13.75) isn't the classic battered-and-dipped treatment and instead French Toast egg wash style, but at least a generously-filled two stacked club sando style. Hog Rock is okay-priced considering the economic times, but OG small-town diner food on epic OG boring stoneware platters made for a nostalgia trip that was also a fair road-tripping byway. 3.5 stars.

Inside out: there is plenty of parking. The place looks as good as the food, which sometimes I won't judge because some of the best food comes from sketchy looking places. Food: I don't write bad reviews often. At all. This was nearly inedible. I've never had a breakfast this bad and I was baffled to watch others eat here. I am so angry I paid for this food. I can't tell if it's from the food or anger my stomach is upset. The hash browns were barely cooked. Like... wet and cool in the middle. How do you mess up an egg and cheese omelette? I had no idea until today. I learned, kinda cooked eggs with wet white parts and normally I wouldn't complain about cheese... but mother of god it was not even cooked and it was probably more cheese than egg ratio. It was disgusting. I didn't bother with the biscuit, it might have redeemed something but it looked pale, dry, and undercooked so I took a pass. My husband ordered the Hog Rock Country scramble. Just... I'll put a picture. He said his was 'edible' but now I'm listening to his stomach revolt. Service: our waitress was nice, literally the only reason I didn't just get up and leave. The other folks, I'm for a relaxed work environment, but other than our waitress they were not even clean. Don't forget they charge a 3% on top of everything for using your card they don't tell you about! So I paid almost 40$ for two people to eat the worst meal of my life. I should have taken more pictures but imagine the most soulless wet pale mush and you've got it. Maybe we just came here on a bad day but... for the love of all that is holy you couldn't pay me to do this again.

French Toast Meal - 1 of Each and biscuits and gravy.

Went looking for a cute diner, and found a cute diner. My friend and I both had a hard time deciding on what to order because the whole menu looked good! She got the biscuits and gravy, I got the french toast-this time. We got a side of has towns as well and it was all really good! As you would expect there was a bit extra grease but it's a diner so you expect it! We will go back for sure!

Love love this burger!Jalapeno cheddar burger with crunchy fries!

My favorite burger spot!! Live their coated fries and also the vanilla ice cream. The staff is awesome! Everybody is so so nice!! The diner is a little hidden gem with a nostalgic friendly ambiance!

Amazing from the start. As soon as we walked in you could see the place was packed for a Sunday breakfast. We were kindly greeted and we sat down at our table. The waitress was extremely nice and welcoming. This was the start to a wonderful breakfast. Pump the brakes!!! Our food arrived at our table. We both had hash browns with our meal. With our first bite we instantly knew our hash browns had freezer burn. They were dry as a bone. Probably the worst hash browns I've ever had. I had the rib eye and eggs. My steak was terrible, tough and flavorless. The waitress was extremely nice and took the hash browns off of our order. She confirmed with us that they do use frozen hash browns. It really makes you appreciate fresh hash browns at other restaurants. Well, our Sunday breakfast ended quickly. I'm sorry, but I cannot recommend this establishment. It really needs an overhaul. It seems a bit dated, like a dive bar and grill.

    Yep, one shake.

3 1/2 out of 5. If your goal is bang-for-the-buck, this is your place to pinch your pennies. Our lunch consisted of a burger (hers) and steak fingers (his). Both were good. The burger was rated average with very fresh ingredients and the fingers tender and again average. The shake we ordered was really tasty and huge. After seeing the Taco Salads go by, and they were prodigious, we knew we had missed a meal and a half.

I had the steak and eggs with a side of bacon for my keto breakfast

The Sirloin with 2 sides is only around $13 compared with almost double that on the dinner menu. Good specials on drinks too. Summer took great care of me. She's excellent. Even though baked potatoes aren't supposed to be ready that early she got me one. I got the lunch rib plate, which is a huge beef rib (although a little smaller than it used to be). It was mostly meat and not much fat. Way too much for me to eat, it provided lunch the next day as well. I brought home a burger to my wife, which was also cooked perfectly. It's a fun old-fashioned place to go to. Lots of animal heads on the walls and cowboy type things. This is in the old Sizzler right off the freeway and just into Oregon. They are owned by the same people as Indian Creek steak in Caldwell. Happy hour and lunch prices are very good, dinner prices can easily be $50 or more. their happy hour runs until 6 o'clock every day, which is great.

Menu prices for lunch are the same for dinner - HIGH. $50 for a steak? Eek…read more I went for a quick lunch but the menu was so limited that that alone was a disappointment. I just can't justify spending the money on a previous Sizzler environment. It's not fit for a "quick lunch" type of place. My opinion is that it just feels like they're struggling so they need to charge high to cover losses. I'd suggest building more menu items, at smaller portions to suit more palates and needs. Like maybe lunch specials. I know prices everywhere are just high in general, and eating out nowadays is a luxury, and I totally get they need to cover their costs as well, but sometimes you're willing to spend it when the environment is lovely and the food is great. This restaurant was not a place that I was pleased in spending this much for lunch. Most reasonable priced item was a nearly $20 burger that was definitely not worth the money. The fries are fresh cut but are just not great - flimsy fries do not excite me. The lunch menu selection in general is dismal. I just kept looking at the menu, hoping something would entice me but it's really just a steak or a burger option. Or chicken strips. Not many options, not many price points. The interior is a little sad too. It just doesn't feel like a nice place. I pulled up and assumed they were closed. The door that faces where you pull up is a closed side door, so you gotta walk around a smidge. Just wasn't inviting. The service was excellent and friendly and attentive. The servers and service are keeping it all together for sure.

What a cute place to find in the sleepy Saturday night town of Payette!…read more Downtown Payette is what Caldwell once looked like before investors went in and built more businesses. The streets are dark and very few places are open and that makes me sad because this could be such an adorable old town downtown vibe for locals! So don't miss this restaurant towards the end of Main Street and then hop across the street to Hammer Time for family fun with axe throwing! El Kamaron has done a great job with their interior decor, seating layout, has a full bar, and an extensive menu that includes quite a bit of seafood options! It's the Torres Mariscos that sold me on trying this place and it didn't disappoint! This is a menu item that you'd see regularly in a beach town in Mexico like in Nayarit, MX! It was loaded with shrimp, octopus, and crab. I was so excited to just eat the meats that I didn't even want crackers or chips. Just let me feast on the meats with the avocado, cucumber, onion and tomato and I'm in heaven! I'll be back for this item alone! I also ordered a holiday specialty drink called the cranberry Paloma and I loved it. It was beautifully presented with a dehydrated orange slice and floating cranberries with a Chamoy and Tajin rim. I tossed my straw to the side so I could enjoy each sip with the rim! The staff ate so lovely and friendly with smiles and always ask how you're doing and if you need anything! You order at the table but pay at the bar counter closest to the door. There were two birthday celebrations going on and each birthday baby (adults in their 60's) received a cute colorful shot in a champagne flute and the entire restaurant sang to them.
