Stopped by for a quick lunch. Family owned business, nice plus. Kind and quick to take an order. Enjoyed a lunch on the tables in front. Cheeseburger and fries were nice, they must be using a unique cattle, the beef had a slight sour after taste that isn't my favorite but fine for a quick bite. All in, will come back. read more

Waited in line for 20 mins to get a slapped together cold burger. Use to love this place now it's horrible. The owner even made the burger. I would recommend they should upgrade and get a bigger grill. There is no way anyone should be waiting that long. Back then Three old lady's could get me a chicken strip basket and a farm boy in 6 mins at the window but hey who am I to say anything I just spend my money here and expect better food if I'm waiting for that long. read more

Burger West - Uncooked ham - Burgers Near Me - Ontario, Oregon

Not fast food but care and nostalgia in a burger. Still great and hometown flavor. waiting for the best burger is anticipation!!! always great and flavors that are perfect! read more

This place used to be a great place to stop for a burger. It is now one of the slowest establishments in the area. The struggle with keeping track of orders and take the wrong orders to the wrong vehicles. Unfortunately, this iconic business has gone downhill badly. read more

I get it's a hometown favorite since the late 60's, but whatever it was in it's heyday, that time has long passed. Now, for maybe a couple dollars cheaper than our local BK, McD's, Carl's Jr, or even Ranch Scottish Highland Burgers, what you're getting is so subpar that you should want to spend the extra $1-2 and get something better. First, I've eaten here a few times, with similar experiences, across several months in between. If it was an off day, they must excel in off days, so I have to imagine it's typical. Out of the gate, you're going to wait - even if you're one of two people there. This is not a speedy establishment. And when you do eventually get your order, the wait will not be worth it. The buns will be dry, the burgers overcooked, the sauces nearly flavorless and watery, the veggies soggy, the fried offerings barely seasoned and oily. It's a poor approximation to what a good burger experience should even begin to be, wrapped in a physical establishment that probably should have been renovated last century. Again, it was probably very excellent forty years ago, but whatever shell of what it was, I have no idea why this place ends up as busy as it does throughout the week. Location? The miniscule savings? It can't be the potential of waiting 30-45 mins for an order of their poor food offerings. There is nothing exquisite here. So, I have to imagine it's either nostalgia for times long past, the savings of a few bucks or some manner of masochism. No. If you love Burger West, it's all yours. I have no idea why you'd want it. You must know something super secret about the place, because it's certainly neither good food or the experience. read more

Bland. I never salt my food, but had to to taste anything. I had to pay extra for ketchup because the onion rings came with tartar sauce (who does that?!), as did the burger. More sauce than burger and more bun than anything. Dry and bland. Oh, and no restroom. I thought establishments with indoor seating were required to provide one. read more

this place is truly amazing everything tasted great!!! the service was very nice and attentive and quick will come back!!!

Hit up the old burger stand by the other day when I was in Ontario. As always their Ranch Hand with fries is just like I remember from 35 years ago. How do they do that? Same Cows? Same buns? Ranch Hands never fail to bring a smile on this "old" guys face. Summer of 1989, my boy and I with the our girls in the car, burgers all around. Its a trip back in time for me always. 3 buns, Two burgers. cheese, lettuce, sauce, tomatoes, pickles, kinda like another burger chain but better. Waaaaaaaay better. All of their food is fantastic. read more

Food was delicious and it is a cute little place. We got their burgers and fries, with ice cream after. Our 2 year old loved it as well.

great food but for the hours they are never open they may as well shut down. does no one want to work? stupid.

Best scotch and soda ever. No one makes it like burger west! Pink sauce is delicious too! read more

A classic local burger joint! Very nostalgic for anyone who grew up here. The food is always good and a great price. They recently finally got a card machine and extended there hours, which were the two main issues in the past. Definitely give it a try! read more

Burger West - Nice roof thing over the pit side area for when it's hot - Burgers Near Me - Ontario, Oregon

Driving in the hot desert on I-84, we found ourselves famished in Ontario and made our way to Burger West. The Ranch Hand was better than a burger from McDonalds and it paired quite nicely with the tots and fry sauce. The black raspberry shake seriously lacked flavor and was sadly disappointing because... who likes a vanilla shake? ‍ All sadness aside, we will likely return to try the highly recommended fish sandwich. read more

Good food and quick service. Hamburgers were hand made with what you wanted on it. The French fries were very good also.

Excellent food. The price is right! The owners were there and we spoke with them. They were warm and gracious and hard working. This place is not to be missed! read more

The worst burger, fries and onion rings I have had in a long time. My left testicle after a shower has more flavor than this place. Had to go to Jack in Box afterwards to recover from the experience. read more

New owners fresher taste. We will see how we feel later. You need to ask for napkins if you want any FYI.

Ordered the cheeseburger and vanilla malt. Burger had a funky taste but I wanted more every time I bit into it! Malt was so-so. We always order the vanilla malt. This one wasn't bad but wasn't great. Would definitely eat this burger again to try and figure out the distinctive flavor! read more

This place is highly overrated. The food is mediocre and over priced. Call me a cliche American but hamburgers are highly underwhelming. The patties are tiny and bland. The fries and onion rings aren't bad. The food is overhyped. This place survives on nostalgia alone. The simple fact that they refuse to move into the modern era and accept cc is ridiculous and most like costing them a huge amount of business, It's a huge contributor for why I rarely ever visit. Honestly only ever visit when my wife is in the mood. It's just one of those local spots that people visit to say they didn't go to McDonald's. Also they people give off a creepy cult vibe. read more

Enjoy coming here since I was a Little. Great burgers great shakes great Frys. Love how they havent changed a thing since I was little. Great place to eat and great people. Highly recommend this place. I also rec recommend the ranch hand burger it's the best. read more

If you're in it for the nostalgia, go for it. If you're in it for some quality food, keep on driving. The Ranch Hand burger is 2 hockey pucks between 3 cheap balloon bread buns. The fries are clearly from the mark down freezer section. The cafe itself is a real step back in time. But I bet the food was better in the '60's. read more

Nic: You have got to be kidding me. I don't eat here anymore, but come here with other people that do. So I just sit and observe. And cringe. A lot, actually. In this day and age, I can't believe the staff is still not wearing gloves while handling food, or seems to have any notion of food safety. Saw last week that the young lady making the hotdogs uses her thumbs to separate the sliced buns, then pushes the sausage in the bun with her finger. Really??? Not much left then to eat but fries and pink sauce. Although, after observing over fifty pre-made single serve containers with fry sauce sitting out at room temp, I think I'll stick with fries. Unless the girl that slaps the raw patties on the grill, without washing her hands, goes over and shoves them in the box, like they did last week. That did the fries in for me. Maybe I'll just have a soda. Yeah, that's it, I'll stick with soda. read more

Been here many times over the last few years. It's a very simple Burger restaurant - not some soul-less franchise, and I like to support my local economy wherever I can. It's slightly different than what you'll find elsewhere, different style of hamburgers than most fast-food burgers you might be used to, but it's good, has a certain "charm" and nostalgia to the old place. I love the fries and the fry-sauce. Worth the extra 35-cents (or whatever it is) to get an extra one. Be sure to pour the smaller one (from your fries) on your burger, and use the bigger one for your fries - then you're doing it right. The people are nice here. Drive-thru window is as fast as any other place - and they've been doing the same, simple menu for years. No public restrooms here, though. read more

The best burger (Farm Boy on a single), chicken sandwich and totchos (secret menu ftw). Wonderful people making wonderful food!! Get extra pink sauce for those fries!! read more

I'm not sure what changed since new owners took over but the burger i got today didnt remotely resemble the last time i got food here. The burger was dry and tough. I believe I received 8 tater tots. I use to love the burgers here. read more

My go-to in Ontario. Burger West is a well known establishment and has been in the same location as long as I can remember. I go for the Farm Boy and fries with an extra tub of sauce and an extra large scotch and soda. My tip is to dip the burger in the fry sauce. Makes it that much better! read more

Burger West - THE menu. - Burgers Near Me - Ontario, Oregon

Absolutely love the food. Not as great as it used to be but still best place in Ontario for a fast burger. Also love the scotch n soda! Terribly unfriendly people though. Never smile... read more

Great burgers, always served with a smile. The inside can be a bit cluttered with very limited seating, but there is a shaded area outside with several tables. Luckily, there's a drive thru if you don't want to stand inside with the other customers (it can get crowded when the schools let out), I just really wish that they were able to take debit/credit cards and not just cash. read more

Food is usually pretty good, i love the fries from here. Usually a pretty long line inside or in the drive through cause a lot of people enjoy this burger shack read more

A really great mom and pop shop, I love coming here. Old fashioned burgers and fries, my favorite in town. Best fry sauce too, always have to get extra. Their milkshakes are also really good. It is old fashioned so they only accept cash, no cards, which can be inconvenient sometimes. Their employees are usually friendly, I've met some that are quite unpleasant, but not too often. read more

A town landmark--if you come to Ontario and you're looking for a burger, this is the place to go. Small town burger shop with shakes, floats, and yes, banana splits. Friendly high school kids hustling to get your order out when there's a long lunch line. Limited indoor seating with picnic benches outside. It's cash-only so remember to hit the ATM before, so you'll have enough cash to add onion rings. read more

Old school greasy burgers and fries. Love this place. Get a ranch hand with fries. Skip the chains and come get a real burger.

I've been eating the Ranch Hand and fries for almost 25 years. There is something addictive in these burgers that makes them good. Plus it is family ran and inexpensive. Old school cash only. I highly recommend washing it down with a Scotch n soda. Just get there before the school lets out for lunch. There is always a line. Thanks for a real burger joint. read more

Burger West is simple, real food. Not spiced up, covered in a million things so you can't taste the burger. It is CHEAP and the only thing I agree with Amanda on is the fries and sauce. The fries and pink sauce are great! While the burgers seem to be a love 'em or hate 'em, I lean toward LOVE 'EM, but I do add the pink sauce to the ranch hand! :-) read more

Love this place! I've been eating Ranch Hands since I was wee, and I can't imagine life without them :). Not to be missed- if I am near Ontario I make it happen. Order a Ranch Hand (it comes with fries), and get an extra fry sauce. You won't regret it. read more

The best place to get a burger and fries anywhere! The pink sauce makes everything better!

I love coming here for the fries and pink sauce. The burgers are....soggy! No flavor unless you dump a gallon of sauce on it. And the lines are awful to wait in. I suggest calling in an order, then picking it up. read more
