I came across the MC&R team through American Response Team as a reconstruction team. I rarely write…read morerecommendation but I have to give them praise for their superior job performance. Out of all my past experience with home remodeling , this team is the best. They are very professional and very fast paced. They are always punctual on time and work hard through out the day. Every day beginning with covering the floor and ends with removing the cover and even mopping the floor to keep the house as clean as possible, least disruption as possible. They did the drywall, putting new tiles, painting. They did the work thoroughly and in great detail without cutting the corner. That greatly relieve my stress and worries. I am very satisfied with the outcome. I would use them again. Highly recommend.

TLDR: The guy thought he was doing us a favor since the job was so small. He thought he could…read moreknock it off on the way home and make a quick buck. Then he got pissed when we didn't commit. This review is based solely on the consultation visit, not on any work performed. James came by to look at a wall in our home that needed painting. Prior to the visit, I explained the scope of the job during our call and emphasized that it was best assessed in person, as I had already received a quote from another company over the phone which seemed expensive for a simple job. At the end of the consultation, he pushed for us to agree to and commit to the job on the spot. When we said we weren't ready yet, he stated that he wouldn't prepare a quote for us if we were "just going to sit on it." We explained that we wanted one more company to come out and evaluate the work before making a decision. He appeared offended by this and responded, "I thought you already told me someone quoted you?" I clarified that the quote I had received was over the phone, not from an in-person visit like his. He then went on to brag about having serviced many homes in the area and said we would "definitely be calling him." I don't appreciate sales tactics like this.

TLDR: Had we done more research beforehand, we would not have hired Mark. Trust the many negative…read morereviews already posted. Mark presents himself as a professional handyman with over 40 years of experience, yet the work we received was amateur and lacked attention to detail. We hired Mark to paint two bedrooms in our home. During our initial conversation, he indicated that his quote included all prep work. One of the rooms required drywall repair. As the work progressed, we checked in throughout the day and assumed he would properly prep the patched areas by sanding and smoothing them before painting. After the first coat, the walls looked very rough. We expected further corrections, but became concerned when outlet covers were reinstalled while the walls were still in poor condition, with visible rough areas and spots lacking adequate paint coverage. We raised these concerns, explaining that this was not what we expected. He went back to re-prep the wall and repaint, but applied heavy, uneven strokes of joint compound. After repainting, the original wall texture and the compound did not match, and the flaws remained clearly visible. We found paint on our floors, door handles, and driveway, and noticed that paintbrush splatters had been shaken onto our plants. Overall, the work felt sloppy and careless, falling well short of the expectations set by someone with his claimed level of experience. We also observed similar quality issues in work he performed at our neighbor's home. On his final day, we sent a follow-up text expressing our disappointment for someone who prides himself on his reputation. That message was ignored. Oh yeah, and he broke our computer monitor.

It was a breath of fresh air to see such a professional, well-run team at work. I would highly recommend McCarthy.
