The scope of the work included the removal of the existing concrete drive and replacement with 4"…read morenew concrete. Work was completed in June of 2021. In September 2021, before the first freeze, I filled all of the control joints with a high quality polyurethane sealant (caulk). This was done at the first signs of cracks appearing in the joints. In early October 2022, one section of the drive separated at the control joint and broke away from the drive. Contractor placed the blame on Indiana weather with freezing and contracting causing the damage. This was only after 16 months and exposure to one winter season. Since the sealant should have prevented any moisture into the cracks of the joints, freezing should not have made an impact to the structural integrity. Concrete work is only guaranteed for 12 months. Conclusion: Poor workmanship and/or materials was the likely cause of the problem. I will need to engage a more qualified contractor to repair the current damage. I would not recommend this contractor.

They removed my concrete pool deck in May so that the coping on my pool could be changed. They just poured a new concrete deck for my pool. They are very professional, communicate well, dependable, hard working and passionate about a quality job. Eric the owner was very helpful, professional and his team Quality, The price was reasonable. They were prompt in their part of the project to do their part. I was unable to be there, so the phone conference was very helpful! The guys were very friendly and communicated potential problems with me. They were unable to give me what I wanted however, and left part of the job to me to finish. The price was quite a bit more than I had expected also (surely this is because I am cheap, not because of them). If they would have done the entire job from start to finish and been somewhat closer to my price range, I'd have stayed at 5 stars,but I gotta drop to 4. We decided to put some money into another area of the house instead.

Smalling Masonry made a custom chimney cap to replace a rusted one. Two years later, when we had…read moreour roof replaced, an inspector noticed that water had started to pool in the cap. I called Smalling and they arranged a visit the next week and Caleb, a Lead Consultant visited looked at the photo from inspecting report and agreed it needed to be fixed. I appreciated the prompt service, the quick acknowledgment of the problem and the acceptance of responsibility for the needed adjustment. I would recommend this company.
