If you are a chocolatier, you may not care about your customers bc let's face it - there are not a lot of chocolatiers around. Especially good ones. However. when my family has purchased from your business for over 30 years, it leaves us all so saddened to see the quality is not the same of the product and the staff is MISERABLE. We went in yesterday afternoon hoping the chocolate would be good after so much disappointment from the Delray location but the chocolate is now made in a central kitchen in Orlando from what we are told. The factory is run down and lots of stray cats in the back which once donned one of the most spectacular Holliday events in South Florida. The displays are pretty for sure yet that does not make up for the chocolate that is now so overrun with additives and sugar - it's not too much better than cheap grocery chocolate. Not sure about the actual chocolate as it used to be rich and phenomenal - just a delight. I had it at my wedding, in client gifts, etc. No need to go back. The corporate takeover once again ruins an American classic. This was the biggest disappointment of the season. Here we were planning over a month this family event to go to Hoffman's Chocolates winter Wonderland event. We were so excited to see the lights and go ice skating with the grandchildren. The events were all over social media and on their phone which they by the way they never respond to. As soon as we arrived and parked our cars, there was a sign on the door saying that there was no winter wonderland and it was temporarily closed. However, the chocolate and ice cream stores were open. As soon as we walked in mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus were there to greet us and take pictures. The whole thing was a ploy. All the hype and media attention was to get us to the store and buy chocolate and ice cream. We were extremely disappointed and because of this we will never go back. The chocolate and ice cream were overly expensive. Two scoops of ice cream in a small cup was seven dollars. The chocolates were $35 a pound. We were told that the winter wonderland has not taken place in over two years since the corporation purchased Hoffman chocolates. Also, as I was about to write my review on yelp, a coupon appeared for two free toppings on ice cream at Hoffmans. Since I had already purchased my ice cream, I decided to give it to another customer. We brought it to the attention of the cashier and she was obviously unaware of this coupon and called her boss. She told us that they don't do this anymore, but felt bad and gave the customer the free two toppings since I showed it. The company is one of Florida's largest producers of chocolates. It was privately owned for sometime. And has been hosting holiday displays for quite awhile. And in December 2013, Hoffman's Chocolates was purchased by BBX Capital Corporation. Since the purchase, there have been some changes. Some new locations have been opened.(one in downtown Lake Worth opened and closed before the acquisition) . The main location in Greenacres has remained open and is somewhat of a landmark. They've expanded and added on an ice cream parlor. One of the more popular items that my mom's friends always used to buy there as gifts were their chocolate covered pretzels. It was the go to place whenever you needed to get a house warming or hostess gift. I'd been meaning to go to their Christmas holiday display for a number of years. But finally decided this was the year. I figured if we went early, we'd be fine. As it turned out, even late on a Saturday night, they were packed. They had people directing you to the back parking lots. The parking was free, but quite a distance away for older folks or young kids to walk. The winter wonderland area was a lot of colorful lights with Santa's, reindeer, a huge Christmas tree, nativity scene, and the like. There were ample photo ops for the family, too. Plus they had a wreath competition by various organizations. They give you tickets on entry to vote for your favorite one. There were also a couple companies with booths handing out information in exchange for their sponsorship. Entry to the winter wonderland portion is free. Up front was an ice skating rink area sponsored by the panthers. It's made with real ice. There is a charge for that (I think $15 which includes skate rental) with monies going to the panthers foundation. We watched some of the kids (trying to) skate. In the shop you could purchase chocolates of all kinds. Some of it is quite pricy. But they did have lollipops and individual pieces if you just wanted a taste and not a half pound or pound box. The biggest lines were for ice cream as it was a very warm evening. This event runs through December 30th. But you can always come visit the shop any other time to buy chocolates... and after the wonderland event is over, you can schedule a factory tour. read more

Hoffman's Chocolate Factory is a must around the holidays! I come here every year to see their Christmas light display and I was pleasantly surprised this year. They added a ton of additional lights and displays that made this an experience to remember. My niece absolutely loved it and had a blast running around looking at all the wonders they had. They also usually have Santa and Mrs. Claus with a big, beautiful velour couch that is great for photo ops! They also have a wreath contest this year as well, which are created by some wonderful foundations such as Habitat for Humanity and Big Dog Ranch Rescue. In addition to the Christmas display, they also have ice skating. It's fun for kids because let's be real- how often can you ice skate in Florida?! Their actually chocolate shoppe is pretty amazing too. You can see them making the chocolate so it's entertaining for little ones. Chocolate! I really do enjoy a good piece of chocolate and Hoffman's is the place that consistently delivers. This location in Greenacres was one of the first stores I went to a few years back. Since then, it is a regular stop for occasions and holidays to help me satisfy the sweet tooth of the people in my life. The store sits on a corner of busy Lake Worth Rd but there is ample parking - except when they do the holiday lights in the backyard area. That is something to see and hopefully it will return when all of this pandemic nonsense is over with. In any case, the store is large and sort of has that English Tudor look to it when you pull up to park. There are essentially two halves to the whole here: ice cream to the left and chocolate everywhere else. The ice cream side is a little café with tables. Great for those after-dinner dessert cravings. Me, I prefer the chocolate. The showroom has a lot of pre-packaged chocolate selections that you can grab and go or, if you are picky like me, you can go right up to the bulk display and select the items that you want. Prices are not exactly cheap - but you will definitely notice the difference from these goodies than from packaged chocolate you get at the supermarket. A world of difference! We came in here in on the Saturday morning before Christmas around 10 am and the parking lot was full. We got the last spot which was weird because there were only 4 people in the store and they were both a couple. We wanted to get a box of a few assorted chocolates behind the counter. We stood at the counter while the employees help 2 other people who had came in after us. The one person went up to the register and then came over to the assorted counter and was picking out his stuff. I'm pretty sure the woman should have helped the people already standing there knowing what they want but there are no signs telling you where to stand. After she was done with him we ordered ours and it was $20 for a small box of chocolates. The chocolate itself is very good but service is a little slow and prices are in the high side. Overall this place delivers. The selections of chocolate conventions is massive and arrayed. I found their service to be a bit on the wacky side with multiple different people coming in and out of the back area. I wasn't greeted either when I walked in which I was expecting. My son and I got some ice cream and it was delicious and carefully curated by the sweet young lady behind the counter. We used the free two toppings promo on yelp as well as a save around book coupon so we got two for one ice creams! Can't go wrong with a deal like that! Love this place at Christmastime. They do a Winter Wonderland which is a gorgeous walk through light display which is beautiful. They have an ice skating rink as well. Inside the store you can peer into the chocolate factory and watch how all the sweet treats are made. I believe you can also sign up for hours. Their chocolate is delicious. They have pre packaged as well as a counter where you can mix and match and pay per pound. They have homemade ice cream as well and you can also purchase coffee and hit chocolate. I went for the chocolate making class, tour, meet santa, and to view the light display. It cost $25 and reservations are required. They have you decorate a large rectangular piece of chocolate with dark or milk chocolate melted chocolate, M & Ms, sprinkles, gummy bears, etc. They wrap it up for your to take home. Next up, was a tour of the factory. We got to see the staff making chocolate covered pretzels, cookies, and caramel apples. After the tour, we got a scoop of ice cream. I had the carrot cake that tasted fresh and creamy. Afterwards, we went to the back of the property to view the light display. It is small, but perfect for young children's attention spans. During the light display, parking is at the school, which is a 5 minute walk. They have people directing traffic. The inside of the store has all of their yummy items for sale. read more

The cashier was incredibly rude. I asked what a product was that was coated in colors and she answered as though my question bothered her. When I asked for a bit more detail on what flavor it was she rudely replied "sprinkles!". I suggested to my sister that the cashier was being a bit cold in attitude and the cashier laughed at the suggestion. I asked "what are you laughing at?" and she exclaimed "I can laugh at whatever I want!". Words were exchanged and as my sister an I were leaving the cashier with brunette hair and tattoos down her arms kept yelling across the store, insulting us until we were finally out of the store. The entire experience was horrible. We were tempted to go back and speak to the manager but were quite frazzled and quite frankly afraid to return to the store. This place is magical. First of all, as a total disclaimer, I wasn't too excited about going to a Chocolate factory. I'm not a kid; I'm not a whilly Wanka fan, and it certainly doesn't strike me as the most masculine of activities (let's be realistic is not like watching the game - any game). But to my surprise this place made me feel like a kid again. The first thing to notice is the factory's facade. It is built to resemble a Swiss/Austrian mountain house (one of those houses made famous by stories like Heidi - don't judge me for knowing about Heidi, lol). Either way, it's a perfectly fitting design for a chocolate factory considering the fact that Swiss are known as the greatest chocolatiers. In order to get the full experience we decided to buy tickets to the tour they have through the chocolate factory showing the chocolate making process. Truthfully thought it was a bit expensive at $25, but in all reality what businesses take you behind the scenes for you to see their secrets and the way they make their products? The answer- very few. Additionally, you get to make your own chocolate (I must clarify that we were 15 minutes late to the tour which starts at 5pm exactly and they were extremely accommodating).So I'll classify it as worthy. The tour was extremely informative. Our presenter taught about the 4,000 year history of chocolate from it's beginnings in the Americas under the Mesoamerican tribes to its reluctant adoption by the Spaniards and it's eventual modernization in Europe within the last 200 years. After the tour through the factory we were treated to a complementary scoop of ice cream. I picked a delicious Red Velvet Cake flavor. It blew my mind. Additional disclaimer, I'm not an ice cream person so, I'm not very versed on ice cream flavors and could be easy to impress. Lol. Outside, and in front of the factory they were polishing an ice skating rink they built in partnership with the Florida Panthers, our local hockey team, according to our tour guide. Sadly since they were working on it at the time we passed by we were not able to take advantage of it. Next time I guess. The night ended in the Christmas garden. They have a huge garden decorated with Christmas lights, Christmas sculptures and designs which is perfect for kids to enjoy, or as we noticed many times throughout the night, for a romantic getaway with a date. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I wish I had known about this place earlier. Ps: when you order chocolates at the front desk, they have chocolate bites you can eat for free. This holiday extravaganza was a hot mess. The parking situation was well organized. The rest was horribly unorganized for the amount of people there. There was a huge line to see Santa (understandable) but the line was blocking access to any of the games (there was one) or seeing the tree. The tree looked awesome. Inside, there were no clear lines of what line was going to what. We waited in a line for no exaggeration, 20 minutes, for what ended up being cash only. Also, they had amazingly wonderful face painters and a ballon artist that was making incredible things! There were no clearly marked areas for lines. We waited 30 minutes for a ballon and then bailed; we were likely 30 minutes out still from getting our turn. The chocolate was awesome. I would just likely go back in a regular day. Hoffman's is a staple in Palm Beach County and while they have several different shops scattered throughout the area, this is the main location where the majority of the chocolate is produced. Hoffman's makes delicious chocolate for the holidays. I especially love their chocolate-covered Oreos, which are decorated with different designs during the holidays. The store does a lot of production during the holidays and the lines can be pretty long if you're coming in, especially around Christmas. Still, this is a good place for gift giving. I was looking forward to my visit here because their product is good. At least at the Boca store anyway. Even the prepackaged boxes of Chocolate Covered Pretzels they sell at Publix are good. Aside from the table displays of grab and go items there wasn't much else to see or buy. I was really surprised that the display cases were not full of freshly made chocolates. I would think that the weekend right before Christmas and Hanukkah the shelves would be full of delicious mouth watering chocolates. Instead I saw dirty display cases with a small inventory of chocolate. Two rude ladies who were working behind the counter had no holiday spirit. They seemed miserable and I observed them taking out their frustrations on the few customers they had including myself. I understand working retail especially around the holidays could be tedious. The thing is I was there early in the morning before the crowds even arrived. I don't know what turned me off more; the dirty shelves or the snarky employees. When I finally found someone to assist me I asked her how many days the prepackaged Gourmet Chocolate Covered Apples would last. Her response was about a week. When I asked her if they were made that morning she said no and proceeded to walk away. I followed her and nicely asked her to find out when they were made. She returned and told me three days ago. So in reality if I purchased them that day the remaining shelf life would be just a few days. No thank you. I found the perfect gifts from Chocolates By Mr Roberts. I needed seven gifts and it was a pleasure working with them to create something special for the girls in my office. They were thrilled to help me and because of the personalized customer service I received they now have another loyal customer. The bottom line is that I can't possibly recommend this store. I was heading down the turnpike when the advertisement for Hoffman's came over the radio. Chocolate dipped oreos? Next exit here I come. I have previously been to Hoffman's for their winter extravaganza when they open their backyard, decorate it with lights, and have pictures with Santa. It attracts hundreds of people so it is not the best time to shop. The building itself is adorable, it looks like a European chalet. As soon as you open the door you are hit with the mouthwatering smell of chocolate. Easter shopping is apparently a lot less hectic than coming at Christmas. At least on the afternoon I was here. They had an Easter Bunny event last weekend and I am sure that brought a lot of people. Their store has an ice cream shop to the left, the showroom floor, and the factory to the right. Nothing was happening in the factory on my visit. I checked their Easter selection and found the prices to be high. It didn't seem to slow anyone down however. I saw someone arranging to ship $150 of their candy somewhere. For $32 I selected a bunny pop, a box of the chocolate dipped oreos, 2 chocolate dipped smores, a pretzel stick, and two truffles. All of it is going into my daughter's Easter basket. In addition to the seasonal Easter selections they had all of their usual offerings. This place is impressive. Was in the mood for some ice cream in the area and Hoffmans popped up in the search. I had just tried a variety of their chocolates, about a pounds worth which my valentine gifted me. The salted dark chocolate, caramel filled, turtle types, and dark chocolate with almond were my favorites. I'm pretty particular when it comes to chocolate, and usually stick to dark chocolate to appreciate the different varieties of beans, so was skeptical about Hoffmans, but they did hit the spot as a sweet snack after lunch or dinner. The darks were rich and not cheap tasting like some typical overrated holiday chocolates, and they dont come cheap either. Which brings me to our ice cream trip today, also not cheap, but as a treat to ourselves (shared 4 scoops) it was worth it. Creamy, smooth, and flavorful, we managed to eat all of it...didn't think we were going to be able to at first, but it was just that good and well balanced, and not overly sweet like coldstone where you just can't stomach much more. This trip we enjoyed all of the coffee, red velvet, calypso chocolate(with pb & pretzels), and apple pie ice cream flavors! They did have a decent area of seating/tables to enjoy the ice cream, as well as a water fountain nearby. Walked around the chocolate area and enjoyed seeing all the different displays of seasonal and themed for every occasion chocolates. It's getting close to easter and you could see through the window to the factory side these enormous chocolate bunnies that stood about 2 feet tall at least. So goes without saying all their presentations, gift or otherwise are impressive with friendly and helpful staff to go along with it, which when you're spending that much on sweets, makes you feel good to support a long withstanding business like this. read more

My favorite thing about Hoffman's is being greeted by the smell of sweet, chocolate-y goodness when I open the door and first enter the store. Several employees greeted me and offered assistance as I made my way around the store. I had worked nearby for several days. I promised myself that I would pick up something for myself at Hoffman's on the last day I worked in the area. Everything in the store is delicious, beautiful, and attractive however, Hoffman's is expensive. A pound of chocolate candies like butter creams costs $29.99. Fortunately, I found sample bags near the register for $3.95. I quickly grabbed one of the sample bags and enjoyed my treats over the course of 2-3 days. We drove 35 minutes to attend the Christmas wonderland gardens and "tour" the chocolate factory. I was mortified that I actually brought my family to this venue. The gardens are so small and tacky - cheaply decorated with sponsorship signs taking center stage. There's music playing, but it's 1990s club beats with a Christmas carol thrown into the mix here and there. It's odd. The chocolates are quite pricey, yet they contain artificial ingredients including fake vanilla flavor. But you'll pay for premium grade products. There's no real factory tour as advertised. You can basically look over a counter to see a few people working on a long table. The crowd this "event" attracts is definitely not of the upper echelon. Expect to see a crowd composed of overweight residents of the local projects (squeezed into clothes 4x too small). It is a real shame that I love supporting local businesses. Especially Hoffman's because they make great chocolate. Big However!!!! Their shipping department is a mess. Actually due to supply chain issues; Hoffmans has also bee affected. The problem is that they generate an automatic email saying that your order has been shipped the following day after you place your order with your expectations that your item will be received in a short period of time. And in actuality your item doesnt get shipped. It happened 2 times to me; so I would suggest to not expect your item to be shipped for awhile until they get their act together. So, lets hope Hoffmans can change their email message stating that your item has shipped. read more

Its free, no purchase is required, but how can you not go into the store that is creating delicious chocolates and ice cream? We went inside with the kiddos and opted for hot chocolate and icecream - all delicious. Unfortunately, their counter staff seemed very confused and it took quite a while to actually make our hot chocolates. My guess is it was their opening weekend and they had to get into the swing of the big crowds coming in. If you happen to have the need for a chocolate gift, this is absolutely the place to go in South Florida. Hoffman's is currently the second best chocolate shop in the country. It is by far the best one in Florida. The chocolate covered pretzels are delicious. Well pretty much everything there is great. The staff has always been super friendly. Sometimes they have even given me a sample. The only downside is they sell ice cream but they don't make it themselves. But the chocolate still rocks so I just don't go there for ice cream. read more

Went for the tour etc but was very disappointed They just put on a video that was very hard to hear especially with a huge group that came in for a class. there was nothing happening behind the window to see the production . However the staff could not have been nicer read more

Update- We visited last night 12/11/18 for our annual lights walk. We decided to grab some hot chocolate before walking through. We were excited to sample the Mexican hot chocolate. The young woman working the cashier was so sweet and helpful! Unfortunately the experience went down hill from there. They were kind enough to give us sample of the Mexican hot chocolate, it was Delicious but ice cold. Upon serving our Hot chocolate it was again cold. We informed the woman that it was cold and she put it in the microwave again. Round two it was still luke warm, at best. The line was very long with others waiting for hot chocolate, so we just decided to keep the barely warm hot chocolate (instead of waiting another 7 minutes)..... I ended putting mine the trash. It was cold outside and I wanted something warm. Put a damper on our experience. read more

Today we drove from Kendall in Miami for our second visit. On our first visit I had chocolate ice cream but my husband didn't. So this visit my husband had the chocolate ice cream and he said "This chocolate ice cream is just to die for! Very creamy and the chocolate quality is outstanding" We will come back after we eat all of the Valentine's chocolate we bought. Five stars is not enough. We will rate it 10 stars. read more

Buyers beware of their Covid19 curbside pickup special! You tell them your order over the phone then pay over the phone then when you pick up and check your order and realize they got your order wrong.....don't bother complaining because they will tell you all sales are final, which is written on the receipt. This is not the same trustworthy family business we all grew up with. They are corporate people selling chocolate..... so sad. First, the manager said they would call Tuesday after 7, they never did. The chocolate is good & it's expensive. How important is Covid safety to you? Despite signs that ironically declare that "for your safety masks are required," masks are NOT required & your safety is obviously not important. You can mention to the employees that you are uncomfortable being inside with masks not being worn & you can point to their signs & they just don't care.
