However, 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, I received a call stating that the copay was not necessary and that the previous information was incorrect. I was told that I could still come in for my appointment, so I did, as I was only 12 minutes away. Upon arrival, I noticed that the facility appeared outdated and poorly maintained, which made me question the quality of the testing. In the exam room, the chair looked like it hadn't been updated in decades, which caused me to question the quality and cleanliness. They used a basic Amazon scale to take my weight. Nothing up to my standard in a matter of 10 minutes. Within the appointment I requested a specific test that should have been included, but I was informed that there would be an additional charge. At this point, I declined further service and left, as I had already suspected they might try to upcharge for every service without regard for patient care. Unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed when I later received a $35 bill for leaving. I strongly do not recommend this facility. It seems more focused on profit than on patient care. Instead of charging unnecessary fees, perhaps they should invest in updating their equipment. Might I add, no service was provided. I asked the nurse to confirm any charges before changing into the paper gown and having any service provided.

I'm not a fan of picking doctors at random, especially this kind, but I didn't have many options. After my first call to their front office, I knew I was in good hands. The receptionist took the time to introduce the office, tell me about Dr. Bonsu and set up my first appointment. It's been smooth sailing ever since! Dr. Bonsu is so nice and personable. She almost feels like a friend; albeit, a friend that looks at your lady parts! Unfortunately, Dr. Bonsu wasn't the on-call doctor when I had the baby, but she has handled all of my prenatal, postnatal and other checkups with ease and even called my hospital room to check on my labor. She really does care about her patients! I have to deduct one star though, as I have had to wait to see the doctor, sometimes in excess of 30 - 45 minutes (especially with the late afternoon appointments). I know those things are often beyond her control and she apologizes profusely, as she knows your time is valuable too. I just try to schedule morning appointments when I can now.

After a complete hysterectomy and minimal follow-up treatment (without radiation), I enjoyed three years of clean health. Then in 2018, I started having digestive issues, acid reflux, insomnia, burning sensations in legs, abdomen, back and face. I was probed, scanned, had multiple blood tests and referred to many specialists. My auto-immune thyroid numbers were through the roof, I was told I was under stress and that I should try counseling. I was prescribed medication for the acid reflux, medication for sleep and told that eventually I would need to be on medication for my thyroid as well. I used the acid reflux meds for two years, and tried the sleep meds to no avail. I was a mess, my symptoms were getting worse and were a huge disruption to my life and I refused to accept the fact that taking medications were my only way forward.
