Basic menu with a good Friday fish fry. Burgers, soups, sides. What you would want from a pub and grill. Friendly service from the owner who lives on site.

It had been awhile since any of us had dined at Hotel Seymour. We decided to go there to celebrate…read morea birthday. We ended up having a pleasant experience with good food and drinks. We called ahead for reservations; however, on a slow Tuesday evening, we would have been okay without the reservations. We were able to park at the door, which is always a bonus. We started out with a round of drinks at the bar. Our bartender poured an excellent martini in addition to our other drinks. I thought the prices for drinks were pretty standard for a supper club. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. As we had a baby with us, they got a high chair to set the baby carrier in. Unfortunately, neither bathroom had a changing table. The staff did help in finding a spot where the baby could be changed. The salad, soup and bread bar remains a highlight of the dining experience. The salad bar was well attended to and had something for everyone. There were two soups. Our group really liked the soups. There are many choices on the menu. No one in our group had any problems finding something to eat. They also have a nice kids menu! Our food came out appropriately hot. The portion sizes were good. The food itself had mixed reviews. I had the seafood platter. It was filling but lacked flavor. The shrimp were cooked correctly but didn't have much taste. The wild rice side is disappointingly just a cup of Uncle Ben's rice. The people in our group who had the chicken cordon blue enjoyed their meal. The diner who had the French onion tenderloin, like the tenderloin but said it lacked flavor. The patron with ribs thought they tasted fine but also said the meat was a bit dry. Overall, it was as I remembered it. Good drinks, excellent salad bar and just okay food. If they stepped up the main meals, it would definitely get a higher rating.
