I am also often guilty of stopping in on the way back home to pick up some tea or essential oil or chocolate. The employees are super friendly and have great recommendations for any product you may be interested in. I get my prescriptions filled here too and the pharmacists are cheerful, friendly, and helpful. They have a great selection of lotions, which became much needed for me when I moved to Madison and experienced extreme cold and dry skin for the first time. They also sell Wisconsin-grown ginseng, which was a great gift to bring back to my Asian parents in California! Tip: students get 15% off every Tuesday and if you sign up for their monthly reward program, once a month you will get 15% off any product. The discounts definitely help because products here tend to be a little pricey but it's worth it because you're supporting a local pharmacy!

Because they refused to promptly open another register. They are pitiful. Need to learn how to stock shelves. Not Jack up prices to twice as much. And learn how to promptly open registers. My review received a reply from Forward Pharmacy that does not reflect the situation at all. These…read morefolks have chosen to refuse to provide my friend's nausea pills, antacid pills, antibiotics he might need, etc out of sheer unprofessionalism. They have never met this person, he is very handicapped, in fact he's bed bound, and he has both an SP catheter and a colostomy bag. This poor man!! Why are they refusing? When they didn't have the pain meds he was receiving on a regular basis -whoever does their ordering is not on the ball - we had to find another pharmacy that could fill his prescription. There was no hocus pocus going on. Then when I called to speak with them about this it was brought up that months ago, no day or time was given, someone in their pharmacy apparently heard me, just the errand girl, mutter under my breath that the pharmacist is a dink. This is why they won't now, months later, fill any of his prescriptions. Does any of this make sense to you? First of all, I have no recollection of calling the pharmacist a dink, but now today, I do believe that term is fitting, in fact I'd also add unprofessional, uncaring, and likely in the wrong profession. THIS PHARMACY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Shop there if you choose to, but know that the folks who serve you there have no problem slighting and causing inconvenience for others no matter how ill and/or disabled they are, and apparently they stand around making up stories and then going overboard with their reactions. With people who behave in this off-the-wall manner, whose heads work like that, I'd worry that they're doing the rest of their job correctly, too. I'd beware of getting pharmaceuticals from this pharmacy. You don't have to go far, though, to be treated fairly and with respect, Walgreens is just across the street.

My family became patients of this facility two years ago and have had a LOT of issues since. There…read moreare a few staff members that are great, however overall I do not feel that Patient Care and Experience are important to the staff at this location. Two years ago three members of our family were given a new diagnosis that required some navigating of the health care system (laws, paperwork, additional appts, etc.) The staff at this facility is often unhelpful in aiding us with questions or navigating our care plan. They do not help patients understand processes, guidelines or care schedule. We've had lost paperwork, missed medications, and more. I've mentioned before that I do not understand our care plan, but no one offers to help talk through it or kindly and patiently explain things to me. I'm often met with curt responses and just dead-end "good luck with that" kind of attitude. I feel that the staff finds me difficult. Im sure. But I'm a mother advocating for my child, and when my healthcare team is not helping me help my child then I will continue to advocate for them. I don't think it's too much to ask for people to tell us if things are coming up due. I understand the staff have limitations and guidelines to follow. However, if you're the type of person looking for healthcare team who are ON YOUR SIDE, who advocate and look out for you, then this is not the facility for you. I've called the patient complaint department before and unfortunately not had any resolution. Another message left today. We will see.

Long read but worth your time!! My most recent visit (I've…read morebeen there 8 or 9 times) to Essential Family Vision was for an appointment with Dr. Eakin. Since I had been there before and had had good experiences, I was expecting this appointment to be the same level of care. I arrived a few minutes early and was finishing an ice cream cone (I had a MD appointment before this and needed something to tide me over), I checked in and had barely sat down and they were ready for me. She saw that I was finishing my cone and said go ahead and finish and she would see me when I'm ready. I tried to tell her that I didn't need to finish it, but she insisted that it was fine and again said "I will see you when you are ready, just come on in when you're done". I quickly finished and went to the appointed room. I apologized for keeping her waiting, told her why I came in with the cone and thanked her for her patience. My appointment began with the health history update and any questions or concerns I had for the Doctor. We then went to the exam room and did the preliminary screening. I was having a bit of trouble with it since I had the worst headache (close to migraine level), I apologized and we worked our way through the screening. We finished and I apologized again. She told me that it was not a problem and gave me her well wishes... All of this with a heartfelt smile and attitude!! Dr. Eakin came floating into the room and was just as happy and chipper as a lark. This is normal for her... her smile and upbeat attitude are contagious (Don't go see her if you don't like happy people... You know who you are!!). Dr. Eakin did my exam and was also very patient with me. She addressed my questions and concerns knowledgably and without having to reference back to my chart to answer them. With everything completed Dr. Eakin walked me to the lobby and introduced me to the girl who was going to help me with my glasses selection. Dr. Eakin also offered me her well wishes for the healing of my headache. The last and hardest step... picking out frames!! If you knew me, you would know that this is something that would aggravate even the calmest and nicest of people. You guessed it... no problems here. She helped me pick out some frames and even enlisted the help of one of the receptionists for a second opinion. Another excellent member of this great team. By this time I was feeling and apparently looking pretty rough. Glasses ordered, bill taken care of, I was ready to go but not before she gave me her well wishes and hoped that I would be able to get some rest. I walked out feeling miserable went home and headed for my bed. Not giving one thought about how my appointment went. It was just an eye exam after all. It wasn't until now that I realized what a great appointment I had. From start to finish everyone was so nice, cheerful and thoughtful. I have never been to an appointment that was so smoothly completed. I have worked in Dental offices for 30 years and know what it takes for a patient to have a great appointment. You have to have a great team. Dr. Eakin and Dr. Edwards have done exactly that at Essential Family Vision... They are an awesome team!! Sorry for being so long winded but I thought this needed to be shared...
