We like going to Forgotten Star but we also like to get food. Avoid this hodgepodge thing like the plague. The food trucks that used to come were fine. Our experiences with Hodgpodge, however, are making our group of ten avoid Forgotten Star which we like a lot.
You can't order at the Hodgepodge truck, you have to use the QR code. Fine, but the app would not work after multiple tries. The guy in the truck would not talk to us, he kept the window closed and just pointed to the QR. We went inside Forgotten Star and the barkeep said we could order on a screen they had. That didn't work either. I went and knocked on the window of the hodgepodge truck and finally got an order in with a clearly annoyed employee. Others in our party had similarly ridiculous experiences.
Next time we went, my wife used her phone and the app still didn't work. By the time we got the app to work it was apparently 4 minutes before they closed and the app said it was too late to order -after, of course, we had entered the data. No notice on the truck about closing early, no notice by the employees who could see us right there standing by the QR code ordering. The person in the truck looked at us like we were nuts because apparently 6:00 is the time the workers go home not the last order. No sign saying what time they stop taking orders.
Uncaring employees, shitty app, poor notice. All that for meh food. Sadly, Forgotten Star will not be on our weekly brewery rotation as often. We'll still go from time to time because we like the beer and the taproom, but ony when we can add a stop to pick up food first.
