We ordered a just a pound of clams and a 1.5 lb lobster and butter to share. You can also purchase some sides and drinks. In hindsight we could have brought our own bread, salad and wine or beer and that would have been OK. But the seafood was enough for us. Very low key, no frills, and the lobster couldn't be fresher. Love that kind of place for half the price of a lobster roll somewhere much fancier. We'll be back.

This is a gorgeous marina in a great location, just a short walk from the main strip. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and don't even get me started on the amazing dock dogs they have. If I could write this review just about Sophie and Rudder, it would be five stars on its own! The area is beautiful and Chick's has a bunch of wonderful decorative touches that make it really special. It is super clean (even the bathrooms) and absolutely worth the stay.

I retained a boat slip at Robinhood for several years with no issues. One of the managers has…read moreseveral relations working there. All I can say is nepotism is never a good idea with business personnel. The marina is managed by several close-knit family/ friends, (I'm not sure of the exact family tree) members who do not have anyone else's best interests in mind other than their own. This became apparent when discussing a bill with the office personnel but through a third party who has some anger issues. The problem which was minor in nature escalated into lies and theatrics. Everyone can have an off day, but this was over the top. I've never been subjected to such horrible personal accusations by anyone ever. Threats of expulsion from the marina manager and accusations for nothing that was ever explained and certainly could not be substantiated whatever they were. As I said, all this over a bill that could have been solved so easily had they simply been willing to talk to me and discuss rationally about whatever this problem was, to this day I still don't know. I left because I didn't feel safe from false accusations by people who are not stable. Be warned.

Vacation is a brief window and Neil found a way to get us in and off the dock in 2 hours. General Manager was incredibly helpful and solved to long standing issues on the boat in addition to the hose issue. Price was extremely reasonable. Everyone at the yard was helpful and nice. Great facility. Nice showers and free wifi. Make there own bronze fittings on site. They also rent houseboats. A cool concept. Left very happy.

We took Balmy Day Cruises out of Boothbay to Monhegan Island, and it was an absolutely lovely…read moreexperience. We ordered both our outbound and return tickets online ($23 per person per leg of the trip, so for two people - after fees - it was close to $100), showed up to collect them at about 9:15, and got in the queue (I'd strongly recommend showing up even earlier than we did: the best seats are on the top of the boat, and they fill up very quickly). The whole process was super easy! The boat is for passengers only, departing Pier 8 at 9:30am and arriving back around 4:15/4:30pm. The boat ride is about 1 1/2 hours each way. At 2pm they offer a trip around Monhegan Island (it's $5 per person, cash only) that offers spectacular views of the entire circumference of the island; it's narrated with local history and nature facts (actually most of the boat ride to and from is), and when we went the captain also brought us over to Duck Rocks to see dozens and dozens of seals sunbathing. We also saw harbor porpoises on the ride back to the mainland! There are beverages available for sale (including adult options); there are bathrooms on board, as well. The staff is friendly, incredibly safety focused, and very quick to help when there's a sick passenger (after all, you're in the open ocean of the Gulf of Maine). I didn't know what to expect, but was impressed and satisfied with the entire experience. We're already looking forward to our next trip to Monhegan which we'll do through Balmy Day (who also offer harbor tours, private charters, sailing trips, mackerel fishing, and Burnt Island Lighthouse tours... something we're also interested in now too!). What an incredible way to explore coastal Maine from the convenience of Boothbay!
