I'm glad they've preserved the original "down east" feeling, even with the renovation of many of the historic buildings and expansion of the docks. The dock boys (I guess at this point it's equal opportunity employment and I should include the girls as well) are service oriented and get things done with urgency. Nice to see in customer service. I leave commentary on boat repairs to those who actually get their boats repaired here...I think we get our boat maintenance done elsewhere, we've continued to pay the increasing prices for dockage since the 1950s because it's tradition.

All I can say is nepotism is never a good idea with business personnel. The marina is managed by several close-knit family/ friends, (I'm not sure of the exact family tree) members who do not have anyone else's best interests in mind other than their own. This became apparent when discussing a bill with the office personnel but through a third party who has some anger issues. The problem which was minor in nature escalated into lies and theatrics. Everyone can have an off day, but this was over the top. I've never been subjected to such horrible personal accusations by anyone ever. Threats of expulsion from the marina manager and accusations for nothing that was ever explained and certainly could not be substantiated whatever they were. As I said, all this over a bill that could have been solved so easily had they simply been willing to talk to me and discuss rationally about whatever this problem was, to this day I still don't know. I left because I didn't feel safe from false accusations by people who are not stable. Be warned.

From the initial phone call confirming the…read morereservation followed by the greeting at the parking lot Ed Bernard, the owner, was a pure professional (a class act), with the utmost pride, care and accommodating nature. I was a last minute request right after the recent tropical storm, and Ed went out of his way to make sure we had a pristine boat cleaned, fueled and ready to go without a hitch. Ed met us right at the parking lot (free parking by the way!) with his deckhand Griffin (also fantastic) and they helped haul our gear down to the dock and load it on to the boat and in to the coolers. Ed gave us a nice tutorial of the brand new electric throttle vessel.. and within minutes... get this.. they shuttle us out of the narrow slip to the open edge because it is tight quarters. Never quite seen such service! Me and one of my best friends were out for about 6 hours and had a fantastic time. Griffin (the deck hand I mentioned) met us at the edge of the slips and took care of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. They of course meet you on the way back in as well because they don't want their members to stress about docking in the tight slips!! I was amazed. We only had to take our phones and our backpack. No worrying about trash, empties, fuel nothing. Thumbs up guys! Look forward to next time!!

Or they will cook them for you to eat at a dockside picnic table and watch the lobsters being unloaded, weighed, and held until retailers pick them up. We ordered a just a pound of clams and a 1.5 lb lobster and butter to share. You can also purchase some sides and drinks. In hindsight we could have brought our own bread, salad and wine or beer and that would have been OK. But the seafood was enough for us. Very low key, no frills, and the lobster couldn't be fresher. Love that kind of place for half the price of a lobster roll somewhere much fancier. We'll be back.
