We believed him and stored the shrink wrapped boat. At the beginning of this summer, we got the boat in the water and learned that several of the repairs that we paid for as having been done weren't! When I told the owner, he acted put out and then told me it would cost another $250 to get some additional work done-although we had already paid him! I wouldn't trust what he tells you and would advise anyone needing boat repairs to go somewhere else. In my experience, Rich is a dishonest person.

The staff was incredible starting with Mike Soucy working with me to secure a boat for the week that we needed it, after securing the dates the communication was amazing as they reached out multiple times via phone calls, text and email keeping us updated on everything that we needed to know to include an online safety test so that we were 100% familiar with the boat and the rules governing the pond or lakes that we were on days before we actually got to camp we received a phone call from a gentleman by the name of Ben this is another staff member at Port Harbor Marina he told me that he would give me a call a day before we would arrive and let me know where the boat would be dropped off and let me know a member of the Port Harbor Marina staff member would meet us the day that they drop it off at the boat ramp insure enough that morning they called us to let us know that they were on their way and that they would meet us there we get out to the boat ramp just as they were backing down I met up with Nate another member of the team at Port Harbor Marina he went over the entire boat with me asked me if I had any additional questions showed me where all the life preservers were and once again asked me before I actually took off for the boat if I had any additional questions I shared with him that I did not and I appreciated him going over everything with me he said that someone would call day before it was going to be picked up just to double check in on everything and make sure that we were still on sure enough on June 30 I received a phone call from Ben letting me know that he would meet me at around 445 at the same boat ramp that they dropped it off at. During this week we cannot even imagine being without this boat now because we had such a great time my family and I on this boat we enjoyed our trips around the pond and just relaxing on this boat I would highly recommend Port Harbor Marina for all of your boating needs they have a professional knowledgeable staff super helpful and the boat was absolutely beautiful and in great condition, Port Harbor Marina has a A+ operation

There are others with a larger compliment of services, but since I have REO as my boat yard and Marine repair service, Sunset has exactly what I need. -They have well maintained Dock & Gangways -The shore power & water lines are first rate -Bathrooms & laundry are spic & span 100% -Allow outside maintenance to come work on your boat -Extra dingy dock available -Transportation carts for your stuff always available -Marine equipment and beverages always stocked -Fuel is the cheapest in Casco Bay!!! -Long term clientele who are welcoming to new members, very helpful and very friendly -Dan & Elaine are great business people. They care about the boat owners and it shows -They also provide routine and special weather updates, and will contact you immediately out of concern for your vessel, especially when a big storm is brewing -It's the small touches: Dan & Elaine provided a spectacular 4th of July fireworks show out of pocket because of the Wuhan Virus limitations this year. From the amazing sunsets over the old port to the friendly, helpful and professional service Dan and Elaine provide. As we were new to the ocean life, their experience and helpfulness was welcomed. It's taken me a week or so to finally gather my thoughts on this, but an honest review is necessary…read moreto save the next one the hassle & grief. 2 weeks ago, I stopped by to see if they had a specific engine oil that was highly recommended by the VERY seasoned, local fisherman that sold me my first little boat. I want to take good care of it so I took his advice and only wanted to use the recommended oil. The "gentleman" ... I use that term as loosely as it comes ... that was there proceeded to ask me about the outboard engine and then went further to degrade me with idiotic questions to make sure I didn't know what I was doing. I quickly saw the red flag and thanked him for his time and exited. He followed me out the door screaming that I was an F'ing idiot and had no business owning a boat. I kept my composure and got into my car ... as I waited for traffic, I could hear him continuing out the parking lot yelling profanities until I drove away and couldn't hear him. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I BEEN TREATED WITH SUCH DISRESPECT AS A CUSTOMER ... What could have been a life-long customer relationship, was a zero sale. Not only will I never return for a boat cleat or drop of oil ... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NO ONE THAT KNOWS ME EVER STEP FOOT ON THE PREMISES. They don't deserve to be in business and as a small business owner of 30+ years myself, I do know a few things about customer service and lifelong business. We stick together & support each other. It takes quite a bit for me to take time out of my busy day to even write this review, but he doesn't belong open!!

The Carpenter's Boat Shop offers lovely traditional wooden boats, classes, and apprenticeships in…read moreboatbuilding and woodworking - plus tea at ten every weekday morning. Most of all, it provides a quiet space out of the turbulence of life where you can breathe clear down to the center of your being. During the summer the Boat Shop offers a variety of week-long classes. The one I took guided us through the steps of building a Monhegan skiff, a small wooden rowing boat used by that island's lobstermen to get from the beach to their fishing boats. The traditional design is still preferred by many of them for its light weight and toughness. In the course of five days, our six neophyte boatbuilders (granted, one was a professional woodworker) and two instructors brought the skiff to about 90% of completion. The fully equipped shop provided us with materials, templates, and both hand and power tools; the instructors also taught us about different woods, knots, and the terminology of boats and woodcraft. Some of us boarded for the week in the Boat Shop's guest accommodations in a renovated farmhouse, enjoying private rooms and delicious family-style meals at a very reasonable cost. The day includes plenty of "down time" for reflection, and each meal ends with a reading to provide some nourishment for the mind as well as the body. For apprentices, sharing in the tasks and practices of common housekeeping builds a supportive community that alums describe with great affection. During daylight hours, visitors can tour the shops and display areas, and, of course, shop for traditional wooden rowboats, sailboats, and canoes - plus an original design of Adirondack chairs. The Boat Shop offers repair services for wooden small craft as well. I came to the Boat Shop to re-center and renew myself, to reconnect my head and hands. I found that and more, in just a week. I can only imagine the worth of a nine month apprenticeship. But if you haven't got that much time, there's always tea at 10:00 am. Or, of course, you can buy yourself a lovely boat.
