I am so happy that we chose Hocking Orthodontics for our high schooler's phase 2 braces (phase 1 was done in a different state a few years ago). Not only is Dr. Hocking smart/knowledgeable, skilled, professional, patient, caring, and trustworthy, she has a such a great demeanor and you can tell within minutes of meeting her, she is just a really good/kind human being. And, she does all the work herself; this is NOT an office full of assistants where you only see the actual orthodontist for a few minutes at the end of the appointment. When it comes time for my 12 year old daughter to get braces (which we already know she will need), we will definitely be going back to her. My daughter just recently got her braces off after a stellar experience with Dr. Hocking! Our experience over the last 2 1/2 years with Dr. Hocking has been simply perfect, zero issues whatsoever. Initially, we met with a couple of other orthodontists in the area. We have a couple of friends who used Dr. Hocking and raved about her. From the initial consultation, Dr. Hocking's plan and approach just made sense (vs. one rather bizarre plan of action from another Ortho). Dr. Hocking's quote was much more reasonable than the other two. She estimated about 1 1/2 years of treatment initially. However, my daughter had a couple of stubborn back molars which caused the treatment to extend well beyond the initial estimate. Dr. Hocking didn't charge us a dime for the additional time. Also, I have heard about other orthodontists charging $$$$ extra for broken brackets. I think my daughter broke 1 possibly 2 brackets during the entire time. It was super easy to get in to see Dr. Hocking to get them fixed. A few other miscellaneous kudos to mention: Dr. Hocking is always patient with answering any and all (dumb!) questions. Their practice is so well run, never an issue to schedule appointments, communication is wonderful. Her office is always sparkling clean, and we have never had to share her time with other patients - one on one service always. Also, Dr. Hocking offers an easy financing/payment schedule with 0% interest, which makes the overall cost easier to deal with. We are happy to be done with braces, but somewhat sad that we won't be visiting Dr. Hocking's office regularly any longer! read more

Dr. Hocking is one of the most genuine professionals I've encountered. I stopped by the office nearly 2 years ago to get a second opinion on the option for braces (as an adult). She was honest and said that braces would only be worth it if I got the jaw surgery. If I didn't get the surgery, though the teeth would seem straight, it would just mess up my bite. She also said that a 3d xray was not needed (as other offices had informed me would be needed). She also gave information on Kaiser coverage and advised to check with them to make sure I wanted to move forward with the jaw surgery before actually getting the braces. There was no pressure to get braces, it was really an informative consultation. I went over my timeline (as I was relocating out of state in the next year or two) to make sure it was doable. After finally deciding to pull the trigger on braces and surgery, she was very pleasant and efficient. She did what she could to expedite the process and was honest at each appointment about where we were looking at timewise. She was 100% on target with each projected target and milestone.
