There are 2 reasonable size studios, one for spinning and the other for aerobics and so on. There is also quite a large free weights area and an outdoor terrace with a decent view of Hermannplatz. Another plus is the huge wellness area, with a large sauna and roof terrace. So, American Fitness has pretty much everything you need in a gym, but the place doesn't have too much atmosphere as it's so big and feels empty most of the time - great if you want to train in complete isolation, but no so great if you like to have a chat now and again between sets. Another minor gripe is that there is a culture of leaving weights lying all over the place. They are not marked very well, so when it gets busy, it's really difficult to find the set you want. Still, it's a really cheap gym - you can get 3 months for EUR120. For what you get, it's a steal.

Very friendly staff trying to create a nice atmosphere and succeeding at it. Unlike most of its competitors Superfit has these courses which you can attend w/o paying extra. Yeah, you heard right, you pay 18,50€ per moth and you get to attend all courses w/o restriction. Quite fancy, right? When it comes to hardware you'll find a great deal of cardio equipment, an extra section for women (the women's circuit), an ok variety of workout gear and hardware that should suit beginners as well as professionals. But speaking of professional, there could, at least for my taste, by a better selection of hardware for more extensive workouts. The only real bummer is, that you are looking vainly for an area where you can practice your squates and lunges as well as a more free to use space. But overall the mood is nice, the staff helpful, a great mix of people in various stages of training and the included courses range from yoga to the full body intensive workout. See you in the gym!

The price is great too if you make a contract for a yearly membership. The place is clean and spacious enough, even when the classes are crowded it still doesn't feel like it's dense. The trainers are really friendly and some speak English and if they don't, they make sure I understand the exercise during team training. The place is open 24 hours, and when the center is closed there's an elevator (or a staircase) that will take you directly to the gym :) The classes are sometimes repetitive, but also this is manageable... And after a long session, I just hop in the sauna for 10 minutes... It's so quiet and relaxing, highly recommended!

Für kranke Menschen ist ein solcher Umgang eine zusätzliche Belastung, die absolut vermeidbar wäre. Ich komme selbst aus der Gesundheitsbranche und schreibe selten Bewertungen. In diesem Fall halte ich es jedoch für wichtig, öffentlich auf diese Missstände und die fehlende Menschlichkeit hinzuweisen. Group classes are 7 attendees max, but I go in the mornings which usually means only 1-3 people, so you really get a lot of attention and tailored exercises. Or you'll get a chance to try out reformer or chair, which is usually reserved for duo and solo training. The studio is small but very clean and nice. Prices for a class are Berlin average or even a bit lower, and they have a convenient online booking system, no monthly contracts or anything. Some classes are dedicated English language classes, but all teachers I met speak fluent English and just switch if someone shows up who doesn't speak German. The emphasis on precision and attention to detail is what makes this place stand out compared to all other studios I've tried. They are also careful to accommodate any injuries and your level of experience and adjust the exercises. If you're serious about your practice and don't want to waste time on your mat, this place is for you!
