Ive passed this place many times and always thought it would be interesting to try. Soni finally pulled the trigger and stopped in. It was an early dinner so not very packed but normally when i pass by there isnt a parking space available. Great service and fun atmosphere. This is down home comfort food. So first off i tried the meatloaf dinner. Was not impressed as it was like two spicy meatballs. Flavor was overpowering. The corn nuggets as a side were awesome. Biscuits was dry and hard. The pizza was good but I was with a group of women for lunch and the menu was more geared for hard working men. They had a salad bar but it wasn't very interesting and pricy Burgers and sandwiches didn't get much veg and a BLT was a bit of tomato and like a slab of bacon. My guess is the kitchen is not well trained Typical for the area try finding something not fried on the menu read more

What an absolute amazing find! The atmosphere was awesome and the menu extensive. I had the chicken fried chicken, which was perfectly cooked and tender. The wait staff was absolutely amazing at the restaurant! The queso and pretzel bites, I would not order again. While I enjoyed the pretzels, the queso showed up to my table with a "cheese skin" and barely warm. If you know what that is, you know it shouldn't be delivered with that already on it. The catfish was good and I enjoyed the hush puppies. My favorite thing was probably the cocktail sauce because I loved that horseradish kick! Serivice was very slow. Took 35 minutes to get food. Was cold when arrived. I had Loaded Fries drenched in BBQ sauce. They were below average at best. Kids ordered cheese pizzas that Totinos would have been embarrassed to serve. Others had day old stale biscuits with there orders. Meatloaf and hamburger steak were cold and hard. Did not receive silverware until after food arrived. It was 7 on Saturday night and restaurant was empty. Should have been our hint. One of the few other customers near our table had to send they're burnt fried chicken orders back. And they also had to wait for silverware. Restaurant Rehab needs to visit this place. Had lunch 8-2-2022 2 people Small town eatery. We have actually been here a couple times. LUNCH: 1) chopped steak with brown gravy, mash potatoes and okra with 1/2 and 1/2 tea. He said it good. 2) catfish basket (reg not spicy) with fries and hush puppies. Fries were the soft fried kind and not the normal crispy. They were okay. The hush puppies were jalapeño and a little over cooked. The fish would have been so much better had there been a different type batter. All in all this basket was fair. This eatery needs to control the flies. They are atrocious. You can't hardly eat your meal without shooing flies away. Looking at the reviews this is an apparent problem that the establishment does not or cannot fix. Not sure I would return for a 3rd visit. read more

After dining here for many years I had my worst experience. First time I ordered the sirloin steak with beans and French fries. I ordered the sirloin cooked medium rare however it was served more than well done and hard as a rock I returned it received one cooked medium which was better. The beans and french fries were good. I usually have the spicy catfish basket which is very good. I will eat again but stick with the catfish. read more

The queso and pizza was very good. The rest of the experience was terrible. The place is full of flies. There were dozens flying around our inside table. My husband and I both ordered the 2 meat combo with Turkey and sausage links. The Turkey came out cold and extremely dry. There wasn't enough BBQ sauce in the place to fix how dry/over cooked it was. The sausage was so over cooked it was hard and crunchy. I got veggies as a side and they were burnt. My kids ordered a cheese pizza and the cook complained that it was "just cheese" and gave the waitress a hard time about allowing us order it. We had really high hopes, we are at the lake most weekends and we're always looking for a good restaurant close by. It was a complete disappointment. read more

the ownership has failed the management & employees. The worst customer service ever. Wait time for food takes forever. Ordered an appetizer & was served without plates. Ask for plates & was treated as if we were stupid. Not to mention the amount of time to receive it was extended. Ordered a pizza without onion it came out covered with onions. Told waitress one of us can not eat onion. She acted as if it was trouble to make another one as ordered. So, I opted to just order a brownie so I could eat with husband. It took forever to come out. He was done eating. Then we got ticket she acted as if taking our card was a problem cause there was a QR code to scan & pay. When in reality they should have gave me the brown or at no charge. The food was poorly made, for example the pizza is extremely thin and small for almost 17$ we got street tacos with no cilantro and cold meat. Though Hobo Joe's came highly recommended it's food turned out to be a disappointment. We went there on a Thursday night about 7pm and it was busy. We got our drinks fairly quickly, but we ended up waiting about 1hr 15 minutes for our food to arrive. When it did the hamburger steak was not warm, the baked beans barely but the grilled veggies were hot and amazing. 1 out of 3 not so great overall. The cost was rather high: $13.88 for a very average hamburger steak. On a positive note: The wait staff was friendly and fun, the atmosphere was rustic and inviting. I would hang out here and enjoy their tea, but maybe not order food again. Others in our party of 5 also had long waits for not hot food. read more

There were probably 6 kids (it seemed like this place was entirely ran by high school kids) visible with exactly 2 seemingly doing everything. The girl that seated us, Emily, barely spoke above a whisper when she asked for our drink order, and disappeared behind the counter after she delivered them to talk to some friends that were seated at the bar. We waited about 20 minutes before one of the girls that was doing everything noticed we still had menus in front of us. She promptly grabbed Will who was to be our waiter and pointed him our way. The food was good, like I said, but we asked for plates when he delivered our pizza to our table (apparently plates are not necessary to eat pizza here) and he said he would bring us some. He never darkened our table again. My husband went to the bar and asked Emily for 3 plates after it became apparent that Will was not interested in bringing them. Then, I took all of our glasses to the bar for refills while everyone stared at us like we were growing another head. FYI we never were rude to anyone and I actually thanked the girl behind the counter for refilling our glasses. After our meal, the waiter finally came to the table and apologized and said he gave us a discount. They comped our 2 cokes. 7.00 off. I think it's important that I share that absolutely none of the staff was wearing masks. We asked if the cooks wear them and they said no. We politely asked for our bill so we could leave and they comped what we had ordered but not eaten. They were very nice about it. The food we had eaten up until that point was very good. I was just alarmed when I noticed the gentleman making the pizzas didn't have on a mask. That's when we asked about the staff in the kitchen.
