We've been coming here to shop for many years. My husband and son love this place. Not too many hobby shops left like this one so I'm always happy to give them my business. This last time we were here to get a gift card for my son's birthday we noticed they moved things around a bit but it seems they have less of the war models and car models that my son likes. This was our first opportunity to visit our hometown hobby shop here in Norman. We were greeted very friendly as soon as we came through the door. Staff are very knowledgeable and very accommodating. If you're into RC cars, boats and planes, it's a great place! If we're not mistaken, RC is their specialty. They also have different puzzles-3D, regular, it's all there. If you're a modeler,they have a very good selection as well as supplies of everything you need. We were surprised(and thrilled!!)they had a nice assortment of vinyl records. Some were moderately priced, others a bit much(we know because our company does this every day. We came today to see what they carried in model railroading. However, it's was a bit disappointing. They had limited stock, mostly HO scale and little to nothing in N scale. It looked like a lot of their model trains and supplies had been there a little while. They had a decent assortment of supplies for it though-tools, landscape, paint, etc. We can't speak for their RC stuff but their puzzles, model railroading and other items were a little pricey and we'll just leave it at that. We definitely will be back because of their great customer service and you need to support your local shops, we think that's imperative. If you're disabled, you'll be able to get around and access items very well. We would've given Hobbytown USA 5 stars, but between the pricing and lack of model trains, we just couldn't do it. If you're a model railroad enthusiast, this AINT the place. Your local Hobby Lobby has more model trains(we're not kidding) than Hobbytown USA. Everything else, definitely check it out, these are really nice folks that care and know what they're doing. read more

We were turned down for business including other people that had driven over an hour to come get batteries. My son saved his money up to get an part for his nitro boat the website and sign on the door showed open but the owner refused our service will never go back here again this owner will be out of business soon read more

I've been dealing with this hobby shop for about five years now. It's been nothing but a pleasure to have A local hobby shop that provides great customer service and will go above and beyond to make sure they have what you need. I continually choose to go to Hobbytown over another hobby shop in Oklahoma City that carries more of the things that I am into on a regular basis solely because of the customer service I receive, and continue to receive every time I do business with them. if you are reading this review and contemplating going to Hobbytown or purchasing something online, please visit Hobbytown! We have to support our local businesses and even if they don't have what you need in stock right this second. I will never mind paying a little extra (which is rarely the case) to support my local hobby shop. Thank you Hobbytown for always being great at what you do! read more

Would have given a higher rating if shop owner had been honest. I was visiting and had asked shop owner if there was any shops that had an indoor paved track nearby. He said there was not any. After two weekends I find out that there is one about 15 minutes away. The other hobby shop has been there since 1994. read more

I'm into Model Trains, and having a store in Norman that has the basics has saved my bacon multiple times. They don't have a huge selection of high priced items like locomotives or DCC equipment, but they have all the essentials like track, track accessories, etc so when i'm working on my layout at 7pm on a weeknight and need another piece of roadbed to finish my trackwork, I can run over and know they'll have what I need. Leaving a 4 star rating simply because I wish they had more train stuff and less RC stuff, but with the popularity of quadcopters/drones now, I don't blame them at all for catering to that market. read more
