Even my own grown-up kids would love this place. I'm thrilled to see they carry Brio and several other brands that we used to drive to King Arthur Court to buy. I bought a gift for my daughter and her boyfriend. Hopefully, it's easy to make a return because I am not sure what I did with the receipt. But the selection of Lego was good and I was thinking I was going to have to drive to Eastgate to shop. This place is a gem in Anderson. Hope it stays here.

Actually I should probably be more general and say sharp things because I have never seen this many knives, swords, and other types of sharp objects outside of a rural flea market. I think it has a good variety and something for everyone. The prices are also really great. My wife and I got some really great deals on some porcelain wares. I hate to admit, though, that the reason we got such great deals is because the store is currently on its way out. Everything is buy 1 get 1 free and the store is very clear that it's a close-out. I can say with confidence that it'll still be around through Christmas so it's worth visiting before then.

All the above says a lot because I've been exploring this purchase option back in my home state (California), and it never went through because I've never found one store where it's employee was willing to go through this process of helping me feel like had made the right choice. Been there a handful of times and the way it's always worked out is any cards in the boxes are either marked with a price and if not the guys charged .25$ which is reasonable cause majority of those are damaged cards. Last time I went in the girls waited on me and was unsure on how to price them, I explained in the past if it wasn't marked I was always charged $.25 and her response was " I love that for you" then continued to make me sit there and wait 10 minutes as she price checks every single card like I was a liar. she then charged me $.50 - $1.00 each for damaged cards. There's tens of thousands of damaged cards behind the counter, it's very obvious they're just trying to get rid of them unless they're decent and price them out as they should, but making people sit there while you try and nickel an dime them out over common damaged cards is insane to me. I'll only buy something from now on from the guys that work there.

They're really helpful and very knowledgeable, especially when they find out what my daughters are looking for. The prices for singles are very competitive and the stock is pretty good. The unopened packs are a touch high, but they also have quarter machines you can take your chances with to wind up with decent cards. Big fan of this shop and I'm glad we found it!

As I was sitting this morning knitting, I got to thinking about how far I've come. I've been…read moreknitting for about 25 years and crocheting since I was 11 years old--my sister-in-law taught me how to crochet. For years, I stuck with the basics--blankets, scarves, and simple patterns. I would look at all the beautiful sweaters, socks, and tops, read through the patterns, and then skip right over them if I saw stitches like intarsia, short rows, or knit one below. Then it hit me--if you don't jump in and try new techniques, you're never going to make those beautiful things. I realized I was limiting myself by being afraid of what I didn't know. So I decided to go for it. I signed up for the sweater and sock class at Hank's, learning two new things at the same time--yep, I was like, "let's do this!" The support there has been amazing. The staff and other knitters are so encouraging. Even when I made the same mistake ten times, no one ever got frustrated--they were always there to help. And guess what... I DID IT! I made a hoodie for my son, and he loved it. Seeing how happy he was made me so proud--and now I need to make one for my other son! And if I need help, I know they'll be there with open arms. I have grown so much in my knitting because of the encouragement from Hank's staff and the community there. I've also made so many knitting friends through their events--especially Fiber Night, which they hold the last Friday of every month. It's so much fun, along with their trunk shows and just spending time in the shop knitting and talking. It means so much to have a place where you can go, be yourself, and be surrounded by people who love the same craft you do. The support and welcoming atmosphere at my local yarn store truly make all the difference. So if you're like me--skipping over beautiful patterns because of one "dreaded" stitch you think you can't do--jump. Take that next step. YOU CAN DO IT!
