Disappointed, I called them. Later when I was meeting my friend somewhere I received a text from the owner explaining the situation and that she was open now and hoped I would stop in. Talk about great customer service so, of course, we went back together. Shop is full of local craftsman items which was right up our alley. I bought a beautiful and very unique pottery mug and my friend purchased a homemade card. Reasonable prices and we both love our purchases. There were many types of items... too many to list so just trust me and check this store out. I paid with a credit card and noticed much later that there is a charge for a non cash purchase.. not much (probably a percentage of your purchase) but had I known I would have paid cash... kudos to the business for promoting cash transactions in essence (of course, it saves them money I am sure). We need to continue using cash in this country, though, in my opinion. At any rate, on my next visit to town I will definitely stop into this general store and I wish the owner the best with the business. The owner is very friendly, also.

We came for a late lunch around 2 on the weekend after Christmas, it was surprisingly not busy & we walked in. Our server Chris was on top of his game & patient with our party of 5 & while we browsed the menu for a bit brought out the complimentary apple fritters & juice as soon as we were seated & was really kind enduring my FILs joking during the meal with a smile & quip here or there. I had the bbq chicken wings which is not something I'd usually go for but they looked good & they really were. They were big & had a nice crunch & they sauced them WELL. Fries were solid also. My mother in law is a lady fond of few dishes & one of them is chicken salad. She gave the one here high praise. She also really enjoyed the birds in the case in the dining room. If you've got a large group or picky northerners I think you could do a lot worse than coming here.

The Cherokee Trading Post is a Native American Indian shop that also has a lot of other items with clothing being one of the largest options. This joint is a really interesting place with a wide variety of offerings! The Cherokee Trading Post has one of the nicer selections of Native American jewelry in the area and has a good selection of turquoise jewelry. This is one of many Smoky Mountains gift shop options in the area and this Native American gift shop is also a bit more than a gift shop as it is more of a Native American store that has a big selection on many items and they also carry a nice inventory of leather goods including jackets, hats, bags and purses. They did have a great selection of sugar free candy which I really like because I am a diabetic. I did get a lot of candy for a good price considering some of it you can't find anywhere else.
