Disappointed, I called them. Later when I was meeting my friend somewhere I received a text from the owner explaining the situation and that she was open now and hoped I would stop in. Talk about great customer service so, of course, we went back together. Shop is full of local craftsman items which was right up our alley. I bought a beautiful and very unique pottery mug and my friend purchased a homemade card. Reasonable prices and we both love our purchases. There were many types of items... too many to list so just trust me and check this store out. I paid with a credit card and noticed much later that there is a charge for a non cash purchase.. not much (probably a percentage of your purchase) but had I known I would have paid cash... kudos to the business for promoting cash transactions in essence (of course, it saves them money I am sure). We need to continue using cash in this country, though, in my opinion. At any rate, on my next visit to town I will definitely stop into this general store and I wish the owner the best with the business. The owner is very friendly, also.

Some attractions sell an experience…read more Some sell a product. The Apple Barn Cider Mill somehow manages to do both. What started as a simple stop turned into one of the more enjoyable experiences of our trip. The star of the visit was our guide, who took us on a cider journey through the various flavors and offerings. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing. She answered questions, explained the differences between the ciders, and made the tasting experience fun instead of feeling like a sales pitch. And since there's a chance she might somehow see this review: Happy 40th Birthday! Sorry I forgot your name, but your hospitality certainly wasn't forgettable. Now let's talk about the cider. Excellent. There was a large variety of flavors available to sample, making it easy to compare styles and find a favorite. Whether you're new to cider or consider yourself a seasoned enthusiast, there's enough variety here to keep things interesting. After sampling our way through the lineup, we wound up purchasing a glass of the original apple cider and enjoyed it outside. And honestly, that's where the experience really came together. Sitting outside with a fresh cider in hand, playing cornhole and Jenga, enjoying the atmosphere, and slowing down for a little while made for a genuinely relaxing afternoon. No rushing. No crowds pushing you along. Just good cider and good company. We also picked up a growler to bring back to the hotel because one thing became very clear during the tasting process: leaving empty-handed would have been a mistake. The Apple Barn Cider Mill does a great job creating an experience that's welcoming, fun, and memorable without feeling overly commercialized. Great cider. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Five stars. And judging by the growler currently waiting back at the hotel, I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

The Cherokee Trading Post is a Native American Indian shop that also has a lot of other items with clothing being one of the largest options. This joint is a really interesting place with a wide variety of offerings! The Cherokee Trading Post has one of the nicer selections of Native American jewelry in the area and has a good selection of turquoise jewelry. This is one of many Smoky Mountains gift shop options in the area and this Native American gift shop is also a bit more than a gift shop as it is more of a Native American store that has a big selection on many items and they also carry a nice inventory of leather goods including jackets, hats, bags and purses. Overall it is a cool place but the staff seem super grumpy and unfriendly especially for folks in the tourist trade! My video review of Cherokee Trading Post is here: https://youtu.be/UohYZ59PN0U

It's especially great for families: the outdoor decor doubles as a photo op and there's a small play area to keep kids entertained while adults browse. Every corner is packed with ornaments, decor, and collectibles--Harry Potter, Disney, Peanuts, The Grinch, and more--ready for the holidays. Fair warning: prices lean toward the pricey side.
