Sunday, I visited the Omaha store and was looking for a canvas and was not finding the size I was…read morelooking for. When I asked for help in finding an alternate size I was told "Art is a very personal thing". OK, I get it but are there optional canvas sizes that could meet my need? We are talking an art supply to create art not art. When I tried to explain why I was looking for help and that I had driven al long way, the cashier evidently didn't like my tone of voice and became defensive and I was told I shouldn't talk to her that way (what way?) and I should leave. I had a purchase I had bought the previous day with me and I didn't think would work for me, so I said I soon as I got the credit I would leave the store. I was then told by the cashier that the staff was just minimum wage earners paid to cash out customers and had no knowledge of art or art supplies. (salesperson 71700). She handled my return expediently and I left. Unfortunately, given my treatment, I doubt I will ever return to the store and its going to be tough to continue to refer other people there. Historically I had found Blick to have a good selection, reasonable prices and most of all, helpful staff. Other note: Recently, I had an error involving an online order (dickblick.com) where an item was missing. I called and the customer service was great. Could not of been happier with how service was provided. BTW last Sunday Michaels was able to help me with the canvas. However, I could have stayed in Lincoln and shopped at Michaels, I didn't need to drive to Omaha. Interesting enough, the order I made at Michaels was shipped to me from no other than Blick Art Materials. How ironic.

The new owners use an automated phone system that makes it impossible to speak with a staff member, leading to an endless game of phone tag. It took over a week to get a crucial anti-anxiety medication refilled for my dog. On top of that, they demanded a new physical for my other dog's arthritis medication--a mere two months after their last exam--after another week of unanswered calls. If your pet's health is a priority, I urge you to find care elsewhere.

I was pretty afraid it would be a terrible experience and someone would get bitten, but Dr Fink immediately won his trust and was able to do the exam. So even though it's absolutely nowhere close to my house, I'm happy to drive out of my way to go here. To make things a little more convenient, you can bring in your pets for an early morning exam and then pick them up later in the day (they also do boarding and grooming). And make sure to ask about the multiple pet discount.

For those who aren't familiar with Found Vintage Market, its flagship location is located in Benson, across the street from one of my favorite coffee shops, Hardy Coffee Co. (I smell another review coming.. pun TOTALLY intended!) There is a new location that recently opened in Elkhorn, but I haven't been able to make it there yet. The Benson location, though? Adorable! Eclectic! Vintage! Cozy! And every other adjective I can think of. The store has a little bit of everything for everyone. From furniture to decor to kitchenware to candles to purses and other accessories, it really is a great place to visit when you want gifts as unique as the people you're buying them for. The staff are all super helpful and friendly, and the building itself is full of charm. I can not recommend Found Vintage Market enough!
