I finally had a day off work and decided to treat myself to a day at Hobby Lobby. This is honestly the first time I have ever felt like I didn't belong in one of their stores. The customer service of staff needs a whole re-training! I couldn't even get a warm greeting much less a smile or friendly feeling when I asked for help. I watched the cashier be super friendly to the 2 people in front of me. But I had to say "hello, good morning" before he spoke to me. Then it was silence until another customer walked up, then he spoke to me briefly about packing an item. But when it was her turn he was extra friendly from jump. Had I not just spent the amount of time I did in the store finding all the items I needed, I would have (and should have) just left it all there and went next door to Michael's. Very disappointed in this location and can guarantee I will NEVER return. read more

It has all my baking needs! I run a small baking business and also love to make baking videos for social media. So, I am constantly in and out of Hobby Lobby, getting different molds or cookie cutters or packaging for my brand. I love coming here and getting different things to try out and the cake stuff is always on a good sale (and honestly so is everything!). I also did not know about how resourceful this place was until recently so, I really want to make sure you all know what they have to offer! They have candy flavoring for candied grapes, lollipops, and more. They have edible glitter, chocolate for strawberries, candied apple skewers, cake pop sticks, and just so much more! read more

I'm obsessed with this store!!! First, you can bring your dogs in! Lately, I've been looking for stores that are dog friendly so my pooches can get some exercise that doesn't involve walking in temperatures that rival the Arctic Circle. Second, they have a lot of cute things for decorating your house. We bought two really cute lamps for our bedroom this week ($17.50 each). We also bought this really cute box to store our dog toys (see pic below) for only $6. This store also has some really good sales. For example, lamps and mirrors are half-off this week. Finally, the staff are really friendly and helpful. I plan to come back here often as we decorate our home. read more

Let me start by noting I've always been a huge Hobby Lobby fan-I like their store, the items they offer, and their business and what they stand for. I've been a loyal customer for years, and was looking forward to supporting this Hobby Lobby after my move to Madison about 2 years ago, but I have to say the AWFUL customer service here has driven me to take my business elsewhere. I have NEVER been treated so poorly by a store employee as I was today by Kristie H, the cashier who handled my returns today, and will not be returning because of it. As I entered the store and saw no line for me to wait in to make my couple returns, the friendly smile I gave the cashier was met with an annoyed look of disgust. As I approached the counter with no smile or greeting from Kristie, I put my items on the counter as I said "Hi! I just am looking to re-" Before I could even finish, she rudely interrupted me with "Anything wrong w/it?" I said "No. I just changed-" Again, she sharply interrupted me saying "How long ago did you buy it?" I started to say "I believe it was-" She AGAIN cut me off saying "Be honest". Confused as to why she would accuse me of lying to her before I could even respond to her question, I said "I believe it was within the last 2 months." Not moving, she goes "Well are you sure because if it was more than 2 months ago we can't look it up". Irritated with her continued rudeness, I said "I think it was within the last 2 months but if not, I'm fine doing a non-receipted return." Without even asking me for my credit card to look up a receipt, she pretended to do something on her register before saying "It wasn't in the last 2 months so you'll have to get store credit." I said that was fine, though I knew she didn't even try to look up my receipt. She then moved onto the 2 wall art pieces and said "Ugh. We don't carry these so you'll have to get 75% off the prices on them." I politely asked her to please check with a manager, as I had just seen them in the store the last time I was there, about 2 weeks ago. She said nothing, sighed, rolled her eyes, and phoned a code over the intercom. Instead of waiting for the manager to get back to her, she yelled down the aisle to ask another employee if they carry them (while ignoring the manager calling her cashier phone in response to her intercom request). I couldn't hear the employee's response, but she came back cheerfully saying "We DON'T carry these and haven't for a long time so actually you'll only get 10% of the price back!!" I was so irritated with her attitude, but calmly said "I JUST saw those exact ones here 2 weeks a--" She AGAIN cut me off saying "NO you DIDN'T b/c that was the wall art manager and SHE just told me we haven't carried these in a long time!!" She was literally screaming at me, which I didn't deserve, especially when there were 2 customers behind me. In shock, I just raised my eyebrows and she continued "Now do you want to return them for $1 each or NOT?!". I replied no. One of the managers had to come up to approve the first non-receipted return. Of course he showed up after this treatment I was just given by the cashier. Had I not been so in shock, I would have brought this all up to the manager there, but I was still trying to process what just happened. The manager finished approving my store credit and as he was standing there with me, the cashier tells me in a completely different tone to "Have a nice day!", obviously just for show in front of the manager. I've made several returns at this location and the employees always seem irritated by processing them, but I've never been treated like this before. Additionally, the lines here are usually very long and slow, and I've only encountered a few friendly employees. Michael's, just two doors down, on the other hand never has an issue at all with returns, has a great rewards system, and has always had the friendliest employees. I really like Hobby Lobby. At times I'll come here just to browse. I also like to price compare between here and Michael's since they are nearby. They already have Christmas decorations out! Yay!!!! Christmas trees and ornaments! I like it! Gives me an idea of how I'm going to decorate my tree when the time comes. The store is in really good shape. Everything is so nicely put together and it's quite convenient finding what you're looking for. I still like going to Michael's. At times Michael's will have better deals on a few items but that's the joy of going back and forth from both places especially because they are of walking distance of each other. I enjoy shopping at this store . I do a lot of crafting and can always find what I need for a project. The clerks are always friendly and very knowledgeable. Sometimes some guest can be annoying and don't always tell the truth . I always keep my receipt if I need to return something I don't have any problems. Now another store is closed temporarily. This is getting to be more like a communist country. What's next ! I for one feel this is getting a little out of line . I am 73 years old and not afraid to go out in public . This is ruining the economy. Jobs on the line . Stupid! Now we can't even vote . How do you expect us to pay our already to high taxes . I wonder if this store was closed because of their policies ? I've mainly come here for decor pieces and I've always been pretty satisfied with their selections, as well as my purchases. There's definitely a huge selection of farmhouse style decor, but also some simple timeless pieces. Check-out can be slow sometimes, depending on who's working the register. I've been the third person in line many times and stood there for eternity because the cashier goes through items very slowly. Otherwise, I've been pretty happy with this place! read more
