I informed her that even though I had my receipt and I was purchasing additional items that was more than my return, she advised me I had to return the items to my debit card and repurchase my items with another form of payment. My daughters and I are typically frequent shoppers at this location until an incident they took place on 08/19. Upon checking out I saw that there was no wait at an associate's lane (Pam, a Caucasian associate). She made a becking motion with her hand so I proceeded to go to her lane. Once arriving to her lane with only 2 items, she proceeded to say oh I'm unable to check you out at the moment, as I just called another customer over. The other customer was 3 lanes over and on her phone. The customer hasn't even made it to the register yet. I said " I beg your pardon" because I wanted to be clear that I understand that she was telling me that she wouldn't be checking us out because she had already told another Caucasian customer that she would check her out. Which I found to be very rude and unprofessional considering she had no wait at her line and the customer hadn't made it over there yet. Pam refused to check us out. It took the customer to come over to say that she didn't mind us going in front of her since we only had 2 items and that we made it to the register first. I looked for a front end manager to report this to but didn't see one. Never have I ever been so insulted. I will never return to this location. Upper management should really have a long discussion with Pam and her prejudice ways. Their acrylic paint collection was crazy and I was really impressed with their shadow boxes. They had a more varied and unique collection than what I have seen in my local store. Part of the problem with stores in my area is that they are just "over-shopped". Items are gone before they have time to settle on the shelf. If you are struggling to find a graduation gift or just want a way to display memories, shadow boxes are great. I created one for my daughter after high-school and she loved it. When she graduated from college, she literally just dropped this huge shopping bag of college related items in my office. When I call her, she requests another box. I have to admit they are pretty cool. Now that I am on a third one, I want to do something a little different and I know that Hobby can help! I walk there, can't find what am looking for so I go back to the middle of the store to ask if there's anyone in paper to help, the lady says she'll page someone wait another 7 mins no one shows up. But I see another lady in blue and I ask is there anyone in paper to assist. She says no she left at 1 but I can try. I describe what I want, we walk to one aisle and she concludes "sorry, we don't have it". Wasted 30mins here and now headed to Michaels which is clearly where I should have gone in the first place. I saw this nice new Hobby Lobby and was so excited to go in and see what all they had! I found a very sweet wooden sign that would work perfectly for my nursery. This sign was on an end cap with other signs that looked just like it and clearly marked 50% off, yes! I made my way to the checkout. There were only two lines open and they were extremely long. There was a manager there, but she wasnt helping at all ...I ended up waiting over 30 minutes and finally got to the clerk. She rang me up at full price and when I asked her about it being 50% off she groaned loudly and asked the manager if the signs were 50 off and the manager said "no, I told you they weren't". When I tried to talk to the manager about it, she brushed me off and told me they weren't 50 off, that's it. I just walked out and wished I hadn't wasted my time. This store I thought could have had a lot of potential, but the employees/management made it a terrible experience. I'll stick with my beloved Cumming Hobby Lobby from now on. read more

Manager is rude and abrupt. I stood in line for over 30 minutes with only 2 people in front of me. Advertise things are 50 percent off and even though the item is on a special sale end cap and it is not listed as excluded they won't give me sale price. It turns out most of the items listed as being on sale are not on sale. That was an hour and 1/2 of my life I will never get back. This is the 4th time this has happened to me at this location. I am in the return line.... 30 minutes now. It's quite ridiculous to allow a VERY VERY large $700 order to be taken in this line. It appears there is no help. There was only one other register opened, that line stretched back through the second row of the store. There are other unhappy customers. I have been going here for years for picture framing. I am very particular with my things since I collect things I love. I am always impressed by the quality and care of the framing staff. I recently needed to reframe an animation cell from the animated Star Trek series. I thought I knew what I wanted to do with it but was not sure about how I wanted to reframe it. Then I started talking with Dennis about how to frame it. He came up with the idea of putting a Star field behind it for effect. I thought his idea was brilliant. Dennis is a very talented and knowledgeable framer. He has helped me frame many items in the last months and they always turn out better than I could imagine. I appreciate his ability to listen and come up with unique and reasonable solutions to many framing challenges. He is great! I also want to thank Cab for being so helpful about choosing the right frames and her many insightful ideas about what would be a practical and pleasing result. She is great. All the staff in the framing department always exceed my expectations and this is not an easy task. On a less positive note, the process of making purchases and checking out is very slow and frustrating at this location. More efficient cashiers that check things in a more timely fashion would be a big improvement as well as opening up additional lanes when there are more than 5 people in line. Waiting in a slow moving line with 10 or more people is not acceptable and will decrease the likelihood I will have the patience to stand in a long line or purchase more items at Hobby Lobby. I come here for the selection. The lines are outrageous everytime. I think the assumption is..If you have extra time for a hobby, why not spend an extra 10 minutes in line trying to buy 2 items. I mentioned the long wait to the cashier, she just responded with...It's like that everywhere. I don't wait this long at any store I frequent. Even Wal-Mart is not this bad. I don't blame the cashiers for the long lines. The store is seriously under staffed. This only leaves one reason for the long lines...upper management. The 2 stars are for the great selection. This is something I NEVER thought I would post but I am HIGHLY disappointed at the Hobby Lobby on HWY 124! After finally getting out of my mom what she wanted for Christmas I went to the store in Lawrenceville to find they had 2 but one was broken! So I purchased one and was given the sale price and left to head to the second store to purchase the second one. When I got there I realized I needed a few more things and walked around (Shawn in tow) to shop some more and filled my buggy up! I got to register only for the cashier to tell me that the item was not on sale. The cashier called the manager over and she proceeded to tell me the same thing! Then I tried to show her my receipt from the other store where I purchased the same item not 30 minutes before which she refused to even look at telling me she would not honor "someone else's mistake"! After going back and forth, I left my buggy and all my items and walked out of the store!
